John 16:25…….These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs (fictitious illustrations). . but the time comes when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, (fictitious illustrations) but I shall show you “PLAINLY” of the FATHER. So is the FATHER clearly understood yet? I think not, and becasue of all the Fictitious language used in scriptures like symbolizing and Personification of Spirits and what they are, there has arisen many strange and false teachings. We should try to put all scriptures together on a subject . Not understanding what SPIRITS (ARE) is a major stumbling block IMO>

Gene,Proverb is not defined as a fictitious illustration. A proverb is a saying, often in metaphorical form, that embodies a common observations. That definition is from the Online Merriam-Websters dictionary entry for adage; a synonym of proverb.

Nick,You are just hearing from Scripture what your itching ears want to hear. Repent and come into the light for it is those that hunger and thirst for righteousness that are God's people and not those that reject the Spirit and so continue to sin.

Notice how OUR “RIGHTEOUSNESS” is compared to “FILTHY RAGS” why put it that way, is it not becasue one can not be CLEANSED with Filthy Rags Which is his OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS or a RIGHTEOUSNESS that comes from SELF> if THE RIGHTEOUSNESSES is coming from the self it is not of GOD but the SELF. Many do not understand that, we must be “CREATED BY GOD UNTO (HIS) RIGHTEOUSNESS . A “FREE WILLER'S” type of salvation is not of GOD but MAN> It must be this way. it is GOD who works (IN) us both to will and do of (HIS) good Pleasure and again, not of power or strength, but by MY SPIRIT says the ETERNAL. And again unless the LORD build the House the weary builders build in VAIN. True righteousness is a “CREATION” by GOD ALONE> God said I will take out of them the “STONY HEART” and give them a HEART of FLESH (a soft heart) and write “MY” law in there HEART and they shall be MY people and I will be there GOD

Either Jesus tells the truth and he will stop me sinning or he lies and he cannot. I believe he tells the truth.Quote We need the washing of our consciences[1peter 3] Those that believe make a pledge of a clear conscious before God as they pledge to obey him in all things. If a person does not believe the promise that they will become righteous as God is righteous and every other promise of God then they are not a believer though they may claim otherwise.
