It is the million dollar challenge.
Anyone who can do anything supernatural (under test conditions while being watched by magicians and people who aren't easily deceived) will be awarded 1 million dollars if they aren't found to be cheating.
On his website, there is a list of all the people who have tried to win the money.
The money is quite safe. His rules are fair. The James randi foundation was started by James randi, a magician and escape artist that I remember watching as a kid. He, like all magicians, knows how people deceive themselves and knows that no one will ever win the million dollars.
Is it because the demons don't want the psychics or clairvoyants or people with dowsing rods or telechenisis to have a million dollars?
Why is it that not one of the demons will perform for someone who actually understands how to decipher illusion?
If anyone here claims magical powers and wants a million dollars, I encourage you to go take it.
I know about this for as long you remember it, but that is not the issue,You have your priorities mixed,
My priorities today, terrarica, is nothing more than an accurate understanding of reality. Not many have this as a priority.
David.James Randy need to live in a haunted house for at least a month, and he will change his tune.
wakeup.
WAKEUP, I don't think that would change randi's mind, or said more accurately, he wouldn't be deceived by weird sounds or freak himself out by a slight breeze. I'm quite certain as a kid I saw randi perform the “spirit cabinet” illusion. He is well aware of how to turn someone's mind against them just by unleashing their imagination.Magicians, ever since Houdini, have been revealing, exposing and critiquing claims of paranormal activity.
If you watched that derren brown video that I said people shouldn't watch, he tested various people by putting them in a dark cellar in the basement if an old church.
For the religious ones, he told them stories of hauntings and created an aura of supernatural before putting them there. And they were freaking themselves out, seeing things that just weren't there, seeing shapes in the wall as their eyes adjusted to the darkness. These ones felt a presence, often behind them. But, derren was trying to find a hardcore atheist to convert and the atheist of course felt nothing, saw nothing, and their mind wasn't freaked out by derren triggering any previously held beliefs about the supernatural, because the person simply didn't have those beliefs. My question is: why don't haunted houses work on atheists? Why do the demons who live in these houses leave the ones who don't believe in them, alone?
When I was a child, going into our basement always freaked me out a little. It was dark and there were hidden corners, and I would always run up the stairs, and the more I thought about it the more freaked out I would be. When I trained my mind not to think about it, or, when I turned on the light, somehow, that dealing just went away.
Second question: why do haunted houses only really work in the dark?
January 19, 2013 at 5:15 pm#328970davidParticipantYouTube: “joe power psychic exposed”
I think it well illustrates how most psychics work.
What is so hard to explain for most people is how he did so amazingly well on the first person who wasn't shown in this video. There would be absolutely no way to explain why or how he was able to get so many hits on the first person and so, it would be believed to be “real” by many. The end of this video gives one great idea as to how he would “psychically” know so much about the first person.

David,James Randi, unless he is a saint, serves the Lord of demons as well. He and his cohorts do their own work for the devil.
So the situation you have is that servants of the Devil, whose bias is unbelief, are advancing their doctrine by testing the claims of other servants of the Devil.
Magicians are self confessed fixers.

Magicians are self confessed fixers.
Kerwin, magicians are know the tricks, but they are honest about it. They deceive for entertainment, much like movie magic, and special effects. Psychics, and the like, use similar techniques sometimes, but con people at their weakest moments usually. While magicians are self confessed “fixers” (not sure what you mean by “fixers”) they say up front: “I am a magician. I am going to deceive you. You will enjoy it.”
But a psychic says: “I am a psychic. I can read your mind and predict your future.”
Magicians, as a class, hate psychics. (Magicians often do tricks [memtalism] where they seem to do much the same, but it is always called an illusion up front)
James randi, just wants to reveal truth and reality. He doesn't think believing in aliens and Bigfoot and tooth fairies or real magical abilities is healthy. So, he challenges anyone to prove their claims.
If you think James is doing work of the devil, I challenge you to explain precisely what you mean. Revealing truth and exposing error isn't something the devil does.
“””So the situation you have is that servants of the Devil, whose bias is unbelief, are advancing their doctrine by testing the claims of other servants of the Devil.”””
And what these “servants of the devil” have found is that no one that claims supernatural ability actually has supernatural ability.
Satan divided among himself would fall, just like a kingdom divided. I have never understood why satan would want people believing he exists. It would serve his purpose to remain hidden and not to display any power or “magic.” If satan doesn't want people believing in God, he should not say: “look, there is real magic and I exist.” Because if satan exists, so does God. Satan doesn't want that. He doesn't say: “HERE I AM”. It is people's minds that are prone to error and easily confused and deceived that create these things and allow themselves to be deceived.
If there is someone who can predict the future, they should win the lottery and be a millionaire. Or, they should accept James randi challenge and win the million is way.
Never happens. It's all in your head.

David,It is written about men that “the poison of asps” is under their lips” and “all we like sheep have gone astray”. These men are no exception as they lack belief. They lack belief because they teach unbelief. Their fruits reveal them for what they are.
Satan is clearly using both them and those they test to destroy belief in some.
They are blind guides who lead the blind into a pit. They may mean well but they know not what they are dealing with.
This time or one that lacks even more faith is testified of in Scripture and these men are a tool that will aid in fulfilling that prophecy.
January 20, 2013 at 12:07 am#329016davidParticipantKerwin, how do you know satan is clearly using them?
Does satan fight against himself? Kerwin, what does the scripture say? Does satan fight against himself? A house divided against itself cannot stand. Every kingdom divided falls. Does satan fight against himself?
If the “psychics” are real and have the demons behind them, then it seems those demons want to prove they exist and do so by using humans. Yet, you believe that we have another set of people who also have demons behind them who set up experiments and tests to show that ere are no demons or anything supernatural behind “psychics.”
Kerwin, how can this be? MARK 3:26. If satan opposes himself, he cannot stand.
These magicians don't seem blind. They seem to be trying to pry your eyes open by pointing out that no one on earth has ever been able to prove psychic abilities under test conditions. How can this be? Surely, one of these demons wants a person to win a lot of money, to further corrupt the person. Yet, demons seem to steal clear of helping out with that million dollar challenge.
Why?

David,These men are blind guides because they do not know what they are teaching of.
They teach there is no miracles powers while employing diversion and deception to make it seem so.
Satan does as Satan does and if he plans to hide the existence of his demons and the powers associated with them then he has a reason to do so.
It is easier to believe in God and Satan when you see them doing wondrous things than when you merely hear about it. It is even harder in a time when wondrous powers are called fake.
You for instance show you have been tricked as you prejudge the situation and assume these men are unbiased judges while those they judge are either corrupt or ignorant. It is clear they are not unbiased as the whole process is set up to prove those claiming powers are fakirs or deceived.

Second question: why do haunted houses only really work in the dark?
wakeup.
WAKEUP, what do you think of my questions. How would you answer them?
David.James Randy does not believe in the super natural,
Therefore he does not believe in God, and therefore he does not believe in the resurrection, and therefore he does not believe in Jesus. But you believe? Randy has money, and he can only see as far as the money. His mind can not see farther than the the 3rd dimension.
wakeup.

Oh yeah. I can see God, angels, or demons lining up to demonstrate their existence for 1 million dollars.Surely there would be angels or demons out there that could do with a mill.
Well, why do demons have to do anything t8? Anything that YOU say: “a demon did that” I can just as easily joke about it and say: “oh, I'm sure demons are lining up to move a marker around a board.”And if you are saying that by doing these things demons are proving their existence, then if they are willing tomdomit to prove to a few people in a room around a ouiji board, why not prove it to a few more people and put a million dollars in the hand of someone they seem to control.
If the love of money is the root of all evil, then I would think demons would want to put money in people's hands to corrupt them.
Wouldn't you think that?

In response to your question, Let me ask you this question t8. Let me ask everyone this question:Is every raven black?
I can show you a black raven and you can say, “we'll yes, that raven is black, but this doesn't mean they all are.”
So, I show you a few more ravens. “Yes, those are black too, but this again, doesn't mean they all are.”
So, I find a zoo that has 1000 ravens. “We'll yes, all those ravens are black, sure, and maybe most ravens are black, but again, is doesnt mean they all are.”
I then find a group of people who spend their whole life studying ravens, and I become a raven expert myself, trained in the art of ravenry. And I point out that one of these raven experts will pay anyone 1MILLION DOLLARS if they can show me just one non-black raven.
“We'll, yes” you say. “But, why would a white raven want a million dollars…just to expose itself and make itself known”?
Everyone tells stories of their cousins friend who has seen a non-black raven. Stories are fun. And many of us looking into the sky have seen white birds, believing they were ravens.
But no one is willing to pluck one of these white “ravens” from the sky and bring it to the lab and test it to see, and to possibly win the million dollars.
You believe all ravens might not be black because you think you saw one
Well guess what? For JAMES RANDI, and for ME, and for a million other magicians, we would all pay, we would all pay a lot of money, to see real magic.
I personally would pay a lot of money to see real magic. The thing is, it doesn't exist. There are a lot of things that are close, or that feel, close, things hard to understand at first. But none of them are real magic today.
When I say I would pay a lot of money to “see” real magic, I mean to be convinced that it is real. I am deceived just like the rest when I first see something new. But, my mind doesn't stop, and I always figure it out, sometimes many years later, and they all seem so obvious in retrospect.
What if I shows you a million black ravens? A billion?
Every raven I have seen is black. If you think you have seen a white one, and you accept personal anecdotal proof, then great for you. But until I have a non-black raven in my hand, it would be logical for me to assume all ravens to be black.
I feel like one of only a few people who own binoculars. You are pointing into the sky saying that every now and then, a white raven flies by. But I am scouring the sky with binoculars, and often what appears to be a white raven is not a raven at all.
In answer to your question: I have seen millions of ravens. Every one of them was definitely black. I have yet to see a non-black raven. And further, when I look at the claims of those suggesting they have seen non-black ravens, I just would like one single non-black raven to be found. And examined. Just one.

davidwould you agree to ; that a lie is only important to a man of truth
and that truth is irrelevant to a liar
and that you have only to convince people of ONE lie to make them believe anything else true or false

WAKEUP, what does this have to do with James randi as a person? Your statements feel ad hominesque.
Logic: James randi having money, doesn't mean he is wrong or right about anything.
James randi simply says this: “show me.”
And no one has brought him anything to show. “Show me real magic, get a million dollars.”
You have to attack what James randi says about this specific thing, if you want to prove him wrong about this specific thing. You can't say:
Person X doesn't believe in God, therefore, person X is wrong about anything I don't agree with.
People can be right about some things and wrong about others.
Ed believes numbers. Ed believes in God.
Does Ed believing in God make the numbers right?
Or does Ed believing in numbers make his belief in God wrong?Neither. This is why attacking the person (ad hominin) is a fallacy.

Not sure I understand your questions. But:
I would say lies are also very important to liars. Maybe more Important.Yes, I suppose the truth is irrelevant to a liar.
(We should perhaps define “liar.” Otherwise, we'll end up in a “if a liar says he is lying, is he telling the truth” paradoxes)
Your last statement seems wrong.
