Only God can give “Grace”.
July 11, 2008 at 1:42 am#96850NickHassanParticipantHi,
God is the source of grace through Christ Jesus.
But the soil must receive it.
Hebrews 6:7
For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:July 11, 2008 at 5:07 am#96900chosenoneParticipantI guess you need a reminder…
Though the title, “Hebrews” is not inspired, the opening strain shows that this epistle is addressed to Israelites “whose are the fathers” (Ro. 9:5), and who alone had the oracles of God. No author is given. This is an inspired omission. It is a grave mistake to seek to supply one. It is fatal to put Paul's name here, for his ministries are distinct from and above all that this epistle has for the Hebrews.
You may learn something if you “correctly cut the word of truth”.
July 11, 2008 at 9:36 am#96934NickHassanParticipantHi CO,
How interesting it is that you noted the intro to Hebrews while somehow missing those of Paul's letters.
Heb 1
1God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,2Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
4Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
So the letter is written to those Hebrews who had heard the voice of the Son of God and had hadd their sins forgiven. Such a description does not fit the average godless heathen.
July 12, 2008 at 1:50 am#96999942767ParticipantHi All:
Quote Gen 1:26 ¶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. The statement “let us make man in our image” indicates that this is a process, but the statement “So God created man in his image” that God did this at that moment.
Quote Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. The first man Adam is in the image of God in that he is a living person with a mind, a will, and emotions.
The last Adam is the perfected man. The man whose spirit is being formed by God through obedience to His Word. God is a Spirit of love, and the Last Adam Christ Jesus is the express image of God's person. We who are born again Christians are becoming like Him as we learn to apply God's Word in our daily life.Quote 1Cr 15:42 So also [is] the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
1Cr 15:43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
1Cr 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
1Cr 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam [was made] a quickening spirit.
1Cr 15:46 Howbeit that [was] not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
1Cr 15:47 The first man [is] of the earth, earthy: the second man [is] the Lord from heaven.
1Cr 15:48 As [is] the earthy, such [are] they also that are earthy: and as [is] the heavenly, such [are] they also that are heavenly.
1Cr 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.July 12, 2008 at 4:31 am#97007NickHassanParticipantHi,
So since God is not of earth Adam being made in His image can only relate to the inner man-soul and spirit.July 12, 2008 at 5:23 am#97020chosenoneParticipantNo scripture saying Adam was made in His image. “Let us make man in our image”, future tense.
July 12, 2008 at 1:40 pm#97040gollamudiParticipantHi brother Jerry,
I agree that Gen 1:26 was future but verse 27 certainly past tense I have already quoted from Mechanical translation of Genesis. Nick is correct in saying God's image is some thing related to man's spirit and soul not flesh and blood.July 12, 2008 at 7:02 pm#97080942767ParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ July 12 2008,16:31) Hi,

That is correct. God created the body out of the dust of the earth and breathed the breath of life into the body and man became a living soul. The first Adam. As born again believers our body is the Holy Temple of God. The last Adam in the process of being perfected (becoming like Him) as we learn to apply His Word in our daily lives.July 12, 2008 at 7:34 pm#97084GeneBalthropParticipant942767…..> right God's GRACE is applying His word and ways in our lives. We are being renewed by the transformation the God is doing in Us, and taking on His image untill we come to the full measure of Christ , Just as it says. God's POWER is at work in All who have His spirit in them.

July 12, 2008 at 7:41 pm#97085NickHassanParticipantHi,
2 Corinthians 12:9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.Some would rather boast of their safety and their postion of strength but grace is found in weakness.
July 12, 2008 at 7:57 pm#97087GeneBalthropParticipantNick….do you ever stop trying to destroy Faith. And if God said my (GRACE) IS SUFFICIENT for you. Then why try to destroy faith by what you say, by trying to prevent people from coming to God's throne with boldness in order to find (GRACE) in time of Need. You seam to truly not understand the GRACE and SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD> You lack faith in God's ability to save His elect. Even though God and Jesus and the apostles were always giving us positive assurances of our faith. YOU have not become a doer but a Judge of others, who you don't even know. A position you afford to yourself .

Hi Gene:That is correct. But we have to learn to apply the Word of God to our daily lives. God does not do that for us. Jesus indicated that it was God doing the works through Him, but my oh my Gene did Jesus obey Him or not? God in the role of our Father leads us into all truths in His Word by His Holy Spirit. We can either choose to obey Him or not just as our Lord did.
Quote Hbr 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
Hbr 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;God Bless
July 12, 2008 at 8:07 pm#97090GeneBalthropParticipantTo all….I have had thousands of answered Prayers and have seen grate miracles in my life and am old now, and i will tell you I have never came to MY Heavenly Father fearing and trembling, but with boldness and assurance that He hears my prayers and I have many, many proofs to back up what i am saying. If anyone thinks Jesus was praying out fear and not love they are out of there minds , If you truly Love God you will (always) find audience with Him it will never fail. Don't let fear mongers make you trust in yourselves at all. God spirit causes us to walk in his way and if we fail we have a advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. Who told us, fear not little flock,it is your Fathers pleasure to give you the Kingdom.
July 12, 2008 at 8:11 pm#97091NickHassanParticipantHi,
Those who love the fellowship of God and His son should ensure they stay within scripture.
Speculation, logic, opinion and human wisdom do not accomplish this.
And future reward is unto true servants.2Jn
8Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.9Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

Hi Gene:Perfect love casts out all fear. Only those who are not obeying the gospel have need to fear. There is liberty in knowing that if I make a mistake I am not condemned. If I do make a mistake all I have to do is aknowledge that I have sinned and ask God to forgive me. There is blood enough to wash a way all of my sins as long as I, as a believer, am not practicing sin wilfully.
God Bless
July 12, 2008 at 8:34 pm#97096GeneBalthropParticipant942767….AMEN, AMEN, AMEN, AMEN, AMEN> You have absolutely said it right, who do these fear mongers think they are to preach fear to GOD'S heritage? While we don't have (ALL) the truth we are not among those who are the fearful which are the unbelievers. We come (Boldly) before the throne of God that we might find relief in time of need.
Love and peace to you and yours…..and all who (TRULY) trust in GOD and are not noved by fear, but LOVE and FAITH>………..gene

Overconfidence in our place is dangerous.
Those who think they are strong and stable can still fall.
We need to think soberly of ourselves and know that we have blind spots1 Corinthians 10:12

Hi Nick:Is there over confidence because I put my trust in God's Word?
Quote 1Jo 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
1Jo 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1Jo 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1Jo 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1Jo 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.God Bless
July 12, 2008 at 9:04 pm#97101GeneBalthropParticipantNcik…..You have no Idea if anyone here is over confidence at all. Fear mongers never have any confidence, where do you strand.
To take something that a person says to an extreme is what you do and by that you add an inference the person never even meant. Is thaT not EVIL in GOD”s site?
