Can you make the link off the main page bigger?? or have more of a discription- … Have it on the task bar on the left?? Like, “Chat Forums” or Discussion Forums”.
Like, Im sure out of the people who visit your site, most probably wouldnt even be aware there is a discussion board.^_^
June 3, 2004 at 6:55 am#3952AdminKeymasterI actually added a link on the left handside of the main pages about 2 months ago.
i.e.
https://heavennet.net/
https://heavennet.net/1024×768.htmlhttps://heavennet.net/640×480.html doesn't have room for a link to the left as it is for small resolutions, but about less than 5% of people use that resolution.
I also linked many pages directly to a discussion that relates to that page, so users can talk about that subject.
If you cannot see the links on the left, try CTR R keys together to force the server to give you latest page instead of an older page stored on your PC, i.e. cache.
At the bottom of each page there is also has a link to the Forum/Message Board.
Any suggestions are welcome.
June 5, 2004 at 3:05 am#3953ringo111Participantwell, wow, there is a link on the left. lol, well, Ok, That was so hard to see, It needs to be the same size as the other ones in the same box, because to me, the current link, it looked like small print, something you wouldnt bother to read, Like an all rights reserved, or a disclaimer.
U think you could make it as one of the points with Home, prophecy- down the list, and not seperate?? Im sure you could keep both- Call it “chat forums” seen as the forums are more than just questions to the website maker ^_^
June 6, 2004 at 2:18 pm#3954AdminKeymasterLet me think about that one. I could easily filter more traffic to the Forums, but I do think that I have been pretty generous with the links anyway. A good site balances it's options. Nothing worse than click here click here click here.
But one thing to perhaps think about is that if you have many and/or prominent links, then maybe anyone and everone can visit, but if you remain a little hard to find e.g. behind a challenging teaching, then there may exist a higher concentration of searching people which may give rise to better sharing of ideas and learning.
I am not sure if this idea is the way to go, but I know from other sites I have designed, that openess is always abused in the end. You cannot trust 3 thousand people everyday, without spending all your time fixing up there vandalism and abuse. Mankind has a helpless nature and cannot be trusted. When a site becomes popular, they often protect themselves by locking down good features because of a few spammer types.
Can I perhaps ask, why you want more people to visit?
I haven't made a decision on this yet, so I am open to ideas and options.
