    Hi LU,

Let me first bring it back to this major point that is still not being addressed.

Matthew is not talking about an adoption, he is giving us the BOOK OF Jesus’s GENESIS/ORIGIN and that of his GENEA/GENETIC LINE to establish that he is a bio son of Abraham and David. The book of Jesus’s GENTIC LINE, he who he is fathered by/of the same stock, goes from Abraham to Joseph.

Matthew 1 stands on it’s own!

The passage I was speaking to however,

11 And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.

12 He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever.
13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee:
14 But I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore.

Not of thy sons and a daughter.

    Hi Berean,

Ezekiel 26:20 When I shall bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, with the people of old time, and shall set thee in the low parts of the earth, in places desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I shall set glory in the land of the living; 21 I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt be no more: though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou never be found again, saith the Lord GOD.

Ezekiel 31:14 To the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.

Ephesians 4 is talking about how Jesus DIED which happened FIRST before he ascended up far above the heavens.

Ephesians 4:9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
