    Nick,

Here is selected quotes from the event.  How do you come up with the idea that Elijah went to anywhere but the heavens of God?

    2 Kings 2
    King James Version (KJV)

1And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

5And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.

7And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan.

9And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.
10And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.

11And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
12And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.

16And they said unto him, Behold now, there be with thy servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master: lest peradventure the Spirit of the LORD hath taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, Ye shall not send.
17And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not.
18And when they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho,) he said unto them, Did I not say unto you, Go not?

Elijah was not resurrected, but caught up,he was translated, and brought into one of the mansions in heaven. He is still flesh, and so is Moses. But Jesus was resurrected; made spirit; for we all must be changed, first the natural ,then the spiritual.

The fist man adam was made a living soul (FLESH),the last Adam was made a quickening SPIRIT.(resurrected in a spirit body)

The outer man is made of earth and the inner man is the spirit that gives life to the flesh. I assure you Adam had both an outer and inner man though at death his outer man returned to the ground and his inner man to God. The outer man came first and then the inner man. The inner man is a shade of the whole man and we are not resurrected as ghosts. Instead this is an example that what is from this world comes first and is temporary while what comes second is from God and is eternal.

Roman 8:11 provides the words but the teaching is in many places of Scripture.  The idea that the spirit man must be freed from flawed flesh is a Gnostic teaching and is propagated by those who lack knowledge and/or are corrupt.

Scripture, on the other hand, teaches us that flesh of the elect and their spirit is saved; for it is written:

I believe the teaching in 2 Cor 5 is that we will be given a spiritual, heavenly tent to replace the fleshy, earthly tent we left behind. It is in this way that we will have bodies and not be found naked, but they will not be bodies of flesh.

    Mike and Nick;

The Spirit enlivened body is from heaven as through the power of God flesh is saved; as well as the soul within. That is why it is written:

    Mark 13:20
    King James Version (KJV)

20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

    Kerwin,

Jesus was talking about people who were still living on earth, and were therefore still flesh.

I do not care that you disagree ,show scriptures why you disagree and so show truth for a change

It is not explicitly written; so you must believe it is inferred.  Your argument is not convincing; especially as Jesus made the effort to prove he was flesh and bone and not a spirit.

    Kerwin.

Here is proof,if this is not proof to you then there is nothing  we can say to convince you.

The fist man adam was made a living soul (FLESH),the last Adam was made a quickening SPIRIT.(resurrected in a spirit body)
There is a difference between flesh and spirit.
No flesh can enter the kingdom of God; no flesh can see God and live.
When you are quickend; you are spirit.

    Wakeup;

    Kerwin.

A spirit body is spirit Like God is spirit: there is not abit of flesh in God.
We will be the children of God; we also will have a spirit body, with no flesh whatsoever.

    wakeup.
