ITS CURTAINS FOR THE OLD
One element in the death/resurrection of Jesus that only has a couple of sentences relating to it is the Large curtain, the veil that separates the people from the holy of holies where the ark of the covenant rested.
This curtain, when hanging was 60 ft (18 m) high by 20f (9m) wide and as thick as a hand. One sentence in Matthew and Mark’s gospels state the curtain was ripped apart in two from top to bottom, an impossibility by any man. It was a dangerous endeavour to enter the holy of hollies with out the protection of the high priest uniform. The curtain was so thick for that reason, so no one could see the ark, or the presence of God except for the high priest. Jesus death signalled the end of the old way and the beginning of the new way to God’s presence.
HEBREWS 10: 1 -22
This passage relates what happened at the death of Jesus. Dying in out place, being God incarnate He became our high priest and hence became the veil. So, now, as Jesus said in John 14: 6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
In amongst the earthquakes and darkness and everyone clamouring to hide, this one event, hardly mentioned, is one of the most significant symbolic happening of all time. the close of one covenant and the beginning of the new. Jesus came, to the people of Israel. unannounced, maybe it is fitting that God Himself gave this symbol so that few people actually saw the event. By all reports it is widely stated that the veil or a copy was hung the next day or very soon after. Like anything of God’s that man tries to copy it would have been a poor copy.

What widely reported statements that a curtain was hung shortly thereafter do you refer to? I’ve never read or heard of any.What is your source for this?
