Was wondering how people are really feeling.
I was raised in a kind of Christian home (half and half).
My mother was a Baptist, and my father was a Catholic. My mother has always been a Christian, (since about the age of ten – her family were not christian).
My father was – I would say – a Catholic by tradition only and rarely attended church. However, working alone on a farm he was enlightened, and started reading his bible, and is now a Eucharist minister etc, (at the Catholic church).
I don’t recall much about my beliefs growing up.
In my twenties I studied with some JWs. Did that on and off about ten years. It was only head knowledge.
In my thirties I was, like my father, enlightened, and became completely spirit led.
However for the past five years, it seems to have reverted to head knowledge only.
I don’t know if it’s me/ something I’m doing wrong – or the times we are in. Because I recall some people telling me that, in the end times, (the time of deception), the Spirit will be taken away (not completely but lessened).
Any insight?

Seek the light. Walk while the light is with you.
Indeed times of refreshing are given but they are fuel for our journey.
You must be reborn of water and the Spirit. The whole message of scripture is towards this obedience.
Then you must be transformed by a renewal of your mind according to scripture and the Spirit towards the mind of Christ.
grace upon grace

Paul spoke of the struggles he has when in his head he knew the law but his humanity rebelled against that knowledge. It is only be receiving and walking by the Spirit that humanity is reconciled with the head.
The world defines Spiritual different that God. Take care not to follow their lead.
January 16, 2016 at 1:27 pm#807322NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Paul struggled against sin in the flesh.
In Jesus Christ we can be victorious.
He has overcome the world.

That is what I stated.

Hi Nick. Thanks. How does one know if they have been reborn of water and the Spirit?

Hi Kerwin.
Do you mean by obedience?January 16, 2016 at 11:50 pm#807346MiiaParticipantI just feel like it’s been so long.
I believe my faith is within reach, but I need a kick start.
I feel like the worries of the world have got in the way (Matt 13.22).
My head and my heart are no longer in the right place.January 17, 2016 at 6:59 am#807360NickHassanParticipantHi Miia,
Have you repented -as all must repent.
Have you sought baptism in water in the name of Jesus Christ?
Have you had hands laid on you to receive the Spirit or sought the baptism of the Spirit?
Thereshould be no confusion if you have done theses things.
January 17, 2016 at 7:31 am#807361NickHassanParticipantHi Miia,
There are many false ways and many false christs.
But this is the message given through Peter after he had been enlightened and empowered.
Nothing has changed
January 17, 2016 at 8:12 am#807362NickHassanParticipantHi Miia,
If you can answer yes to these then your tree of faith is under attack by doubt and unbelief.
They can steal your salvation.
Rebuke them in the name of the Master and the shackles will fall off.
January 17, 2016 at 8:42 am#807364NickHassanParticipantHi Miia,
Again if you have entered the kingdom by the gate you need to identify what graces you need today to continue the journey.
Approach the throne of grace in prayer and ask for wisdom and whatever else is required today.
2 Peter 1 offers suggestions. We do not have because we do not ask.
The book of James ch 1 and 4

January 19, 2016 at 4:08 pm#807481MiiaParticipantHave you repented -as all must repent.
Yes. But not fully let go of one thing, because it’s not really wrong, but it’s not good either.
Have you sought baptism in water in the name of Jesus Christ?
I was baptised in water when I was 15.
Have you had hands laid on you to receive the Spirit or sought the baptism of the Spirit?
I have.
There are many false ways and many false christs.
Have learned that the hard way, (following one with mixed effect – the root of problem).
If you can answer yes to these then your tree of faith is under attack by doubt and unbelief.

Just tried – thanks.

Have tried more than once, (but no faith).
I used to have strong faith.
January 19, 2016 at 4:10 pm#807482NickHassanParticipantHi Miia,
Patience.
January 19, 2016 at 4:22 pm#807483MiiaParticipantNick, yes patience. Starting to feel some hope, thanks.
Did you know that Mother Teresa, and others such as Monks, went through similar.
It’s not nice, yet it’s so close. Or, it’s like God has left, yet God is right there.
A few others feeling the same perhaps, (hence so quiet).
January 19, 2016 at 4:28 pm#807484NickHassanParticipantHi Miia,
Just a few checks for you to do.
Acts 19.3
1Jn 4.1
Sometimes it seems like the line is busy then the answer comes long after you have forgotten the question you asked.
January 19, 2016 at 4:48 pm#807486kerwinParticipantmiia,
Do you mean by obedience?
Obedience is its fruit but Spiritual is to live by the Spirit of Love and Truth. To look at things Spiritually is to look from that point of view.
January 19, 2016 at 5:05 pm#807487MiiaParticipantThanks Nick.
Acts 19.3
[3] And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John’s baptism.”
[4] And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.”
[5] On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.I am not sure if I was baptized in the name of Jesus or the Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
I’ll pray about it.
1st John.4
[1] Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are of God; for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
[2] By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit which confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,
[3] and every spirit which does not confess Jesus is not of God. This is the spirit of antichrist, of which you heard that it was coming, and now it is in the world already.I have found that confusing, because anyone can claim to follow Jesus Christ and that He came in the flesh?
Sometimes it seems like the line is busy then the answer comes long after you have forgotten the question you asked.
True:)
January 19, 2016 at 5:06 pm#807488MiiaParticipantKerwin, (I’ll correct this post later, I wrote something then realized something, now my mind has gone blank).
