Nick,
Hi KW,
The Spirit of Christ is the Spirit of anointing.
Christ[anointing] was the rock in the desert from which came the waters of life.
Are you sure you understand 1 Corinthians 10:4 correctly as it does not literally mention Spirit and they, like Abraham and David, looked forward to the Christ who was coming after them as God has known since before the beginning of creation. He told Eve about him when he cursed her, then later Moses who then wrote it down.
I know some think Jesus was the rock that followed them and so existed at that time but there was no rock that followed the people. They drank of rocks that did not move. They fed on the promise of God, just as Abraham did before them.

Through his personal spirit?
That returns to God at death.[ecc12]
Reason is unhelpful in spiritual matters.
I believe that we get confused by the same word used with different meanings. God gave a man his breath and it returns to god when that man dies.
There is this, when Samuel was called up from the dead he spoke by the Spirit of God to tell Saul his coming doom. He behavior was not spiritless. He did lack breath for his body was yet decaying in his burial place. That is what an observer sees.

Was Jesus in the desert?
Was Jesus Christ in the desert?
The anointing is Christ, the Spirit of Christ, the Word
March 5, 2015 at 9:02 am#789970NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Yes the gifts or God are without repentance.
Those anointed by God with the Spirit of eternal life are yet alive though they die.
Abraham lives!

“Another counsellor” is how the Spirit of God is described, sent to those who share already in the Spirit of Christ.
I know where the words “another counselor” is written but where do you find the rest?

I am not claiming Jesus was in the desert. I am instead claiming Jesus was following them because he came after them. To be more precise he came a thousand or so years after them. Certain people assume the verse meant he was following them in space even though they knew for sure he followed them in time.
March 5, 2015 at 9:09 am#789973NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
He would not say ANOTHER unless they were already believers and of the Spirit of Christ.
He also said
“We will come to you”

FYI: I am testing a new revelation not teaching something I am sure of.
March 5, 2015 at 9:11 am#789975NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
He did not exist till conceived in Mary.
But the Spirit of Christ, the Word, is of the beginning.
March 5, 2015 at 9:43 am#789978kerwinParticipantNick
Jesus is the first counselor and the Spirit of God is the other counselor.
The other counselor was counseling Jesus and still does.
Jesus did not have authority to give the other counselor to others until he was later given it.
They had his words but could only live by the flesh until the counselor came.
March 5, 2015 at 9:46 am#789979NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Jesus was led by the Spirit- as SON of God-from the Jordan.
He is one in the Spirit with his Father
Men can follow this man.
But his flesh contributed nothing

Nothing I said disagrees with these words.
Do you know of even one mention of the words “Spirit of Christ” in the Old Testament? I did a search of the AV f the KJB and I did not find those words mentioned once. Never the less I believe it is there but it has other names.
March 5, 2015 at 10:03 am#789981NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Yes. The Word.
March 5, 2015 at 10:14 am#789982kerwinParticipantNick,
The prophets spoke the word as the were carried along by the Spirit so it follow that the Word is not literally the Spirit. Instead the Spirit imparts it. Figuratively that relationship is intimate enough that they are one.
I assume you believe that Spirit cannot be called the Spirit of God as it is the Spirit of Christ. I believe that it can be called either one though Jesus did not inherit it until he was made king of heaven and earth.

The testimony of Jesus IS the spirit of prophecy
March 5, 2015 at 10:53 am#789984NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Jesus made it plain that he was walking and working in the Spirit from the Jordan.
The Father spoke through him [Jn 2.19]as did the Spirit of the Son.[gal 4.6]
March 5, 2015 at 11:02 am#789985NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
The Spirit of Christ spoke through Jesus often, and in Jn 8.42f explained the origin of his Spirit.
Of course these words trip up the unspiritual.
March 5, 2015 at 11:05 am#789986GeneBalthropParticipantTo all…….1 cor 10:1-5….. is not talking about the MAN JESUS, he is not the CHRISTOS (ANOINTING SPIRIT OF GOD) the “man” Jesus recieved that spirit at his baptizm in the JORDAN RIVER. THE MAN JESUS NEVER EXISTED BEFORE HIS BERTH BY MARY HIS MOTHER , GOD THE FATHER SUPPLIED THE MALE DNA INTO MARY’S WOMB AND SHE GAVE BERTH 9 MONTHS LATER TO THE MAN JESUS which made him the second Adam who is called also, “the son of God” , just as Jesus is called the son of God, because God the father is the father of both Adam and JESUS (DIRECTLY), WHO LATER WAS CALLED THE CHRIST, OR ANOINTED ONE. THAT SAME SPIRIT WAS THE CHRISTOS ,OR ANOINTING SPIRIT THAT WAS ON MOSES, AND THE 70 ELDERS OF ISREAL, And later the man JESUS, IT WAS THE SPIRIT OF GOD, AND IT WAS FOLLOWING THEM IN THE WILDERNESS, IS WAS NOT JESUS (the anointed one) WHO WAS FOLLOWING THEM, At that time he did not even exist.
peace and love to you all and yours. ………….gene
March 5, 2015 at 11:08 am#789987kerwinParticipantNick,
I am trying to see how your words connect to my last post.
The testimony of Jesus IS the spirit of prophecy
If I understand correctly the angel is telling John not to bow to him because he one of his brothers who has Jesus’ words and Jesus words are the spirit of prophecy so give honor to God who is their author. A rather flowery way he is a messenger of God and a brother of John so praise God and not the messenger. It serves it purpose by linking Jesus Christ.
How does that apply to my words?
March 5, 2015 at 11:11 am#789988kerwinParticipantGene,
I see a way it may refer to Jesus as Jesus did follow the children of Israel in time and so was behind them. They also knew of the promised seed, that Paul later claims is the Christ.
