Hi,
Salvation is of grace.
Grace enables us to see we need more grace.
We are required to ask and to seek all the grace we need to walk in the light.July 20, 2008 at 9:51 pm#98414GeneBalthropParticipantNick….apsolutely without the GRACE of GOD no one would or could ever make it.
It is (paramount) we understand what GRACE IS, Grace is GOD”S influencing in our Hearts. We are saved by Grace and that (NOT) of OURSELVES is it a GIFT of GOD.

Amen and I agree with that post brother Gene. Many think that man can choose God and come to Him by their free will which is a myth..IMO
Peace and love to you

So is the gospel a myth?
It is an invitation and we need to respond to the grace.July 23, 2008 at 11:08 am#98742gollamudiParticipantYes, but no free will only influenced will. Is that solve your questions?
Every thing in this world works on cause and effects. God causes you respond where is this free will business my brother?July 23, 2008 at 5:10 pm#98751GeneBalthropParticipantAdam…..Absolutely right it's GRACE (God influencing the Heart) and transforming it to do and follow Him. Our Change and recreation is an act of God in Us, not our works least any should boast. Jesus Showed it was God who was the ROCK by which He would build the church. God has the power to affect our thinking and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Just as it says if any sin he is faithful to forgive us (AND)Cleans us from (ALL) unrighteousness,. We either totally trust in God as Jesus did and with God power overcome ourselves and the world and its influences, and we are MORE the conquerers through Him who loved us and gave Himself for Us, Just as it says.
love to you and yours Adam…………gene

Hi Gene, Good post. It seems that many still think they have to do something to recieve the grace of God. That portion of scripture that says “and this is NOT OF YOU”, seems to be ignored. They also seem to forget that scripture says “the flesh cannot please God”, this also is ignored by many, and still cling to the false teaching that they have to do SOMETHING to recieve Gods grace. Again “ALL IS OF GOD” (1.Cor.11-12, 2.Cor.5:18, Ro.11:36).God Bless, Jerry.

There are the selfwilled and the stiff necked and those who believe grace is magic.
We walk by faith. Whatever is not of faith is of sin.July 25, 2008 at 8:14 pm#98996NickHassanParticipantHi,
Some see men as helpless autumn leaves that are forcibly blown in the direction of God's will.
Though the gentle breeze helps us walk, grace is not any form of gale.
Our gracious God wants us to partake in His works.
That is why we are rewarded.Ruth 2:12
The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.Luke 6:23
Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
1 Corinthians 3:14
If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.Revelation 22:12
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.Cooperation with grace

1 And you, being dead to your offenses and sins,
2 in which once you walked, in accord with the eon of this world, in accord with the chief of the jurisdiction of the air, the spirit now operating in the sons of stubbornness
3 (among whom we also all behaved ourselves once in the lusts of our flesh, doing the will of the flesh and of the comprehension, and were, in our nature, children of indignation, even as the rest),
4 yet God, being rich in mercy, because of His vast love with which He loves us
5 (we also being dead to the offenses and the lusts), vivifies us together in Christ (in grace are you saved!)
6 and rouses us together and seats us together among the celestials, in Christ Jesus,
7 that, in the oncoming eons, He should be displaying the transcendent riches of His grace in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
8 For in grace, through faith, are you saved, and this is not out of you; it is God's approach present,
9 not of works, lest anyone should be boasting.
10 For His achievement are we, being created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God makes ready beforehand, that we should be walking in them.
11 Wherefore, remember that once you, the nations in flesh — who are termed 'Uncircumcision' by those termed 'Circumcision,' in flesh, made by hands —
12 that you were, in that era, apart from Christ, being alienated from the citizenship of Israel, and guests of the promise covenants, having no expectation, and without God in the world.Notice verse 4 …yet God! Notice it doesn't say “but you”, or “you must”, or anything to do with you!
Also see verse 8. …For in grace, through faith, are you saved, AND THIS IS NOT OF YOU, LEST ANYONE SHOULD BE BOASTING. But I guess you feel a little bit of boasting is alright?Verse 10. For HIS (GOD) achievement are we. But you just helped a little, right?
And notice verse 12, we (gentiles) where without God in the world, during this eon (when Jesus taught the “lost sheep of the house of Israel).
Blessings.

For context
Eph1
1Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God,
To the saints in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus:So now we can understand Chapter 2.
The body of Christ is ONE and we must ber reborn to enter the kingdom
All men are not the saints in Christ Jesus so this letter is not to the heathen world as described in v 1-3 of Ch2. We are those described rather in v 4 onwards. Not of the Jewish Law and thus with no hope as Gentiles we were rescued according to the grace of God from the sad fate of the heathen world who remain under the wrath of God.

After all, you and I read it, and we're not in Ephesus. Do you think we should not read this??? Should all ignore Pauls epistles because we are not in the cities he addressed to? I think not. You must use common sense, along with scripture.

Should Paul write to Timothy or Titus or to the saints in Ephesus or Corinth

ONE BODY
Romans 12:4
For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:Romans 12:5
So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.1 Corinthians 10:17
For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.1 Corinthians 12:12
For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.1 Corinthians 12:14
For the body is not one member, but many.1 Corinthians 12:18
But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.1 Corinthians 12:19
And if they were all one member, where were the body?1 Corinthians 12:20
But now are they many members, yet but one body.1 Corinthians 12:25
That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.July 26, 2008 at 6:17 am#99100chosenoneParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ July 26 2008,14:53) Hi CO,

So if an unbeliever should not read Pauls epistles? How will he ever believe if he is not to read scripture?Blessings
July 26, 2008 at 6:42 am#99106NickHassanParticipantHi CO,
They are replete with godly wisdom.
They do point to the way of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Folks may be fascinated and seek to receive of the God of Paul.
They cannot fully understand his words or yet receive of that grace in Jesus.
So without the enlightening by of the Spirit of God reading such remains for them an exercise in futility.July 28, 2008 at 3:44 am#99183GeneBalthropParticipantQuote (chosenone @ July 26 2008,13:12) Eph.2:1-12

Chosenone……you have presented it right. Grace is the Key to salvation, our works are as filthy rages it says, But God the Father operating through Us by His Grace is what changes us it has nothing to do with (OUR WORK) If righteousness is done through us it is a result of God's Spirit operating in us. For He works in us (BOTH) to WILL and do of (HIS) good pleasure.Unless the Lord build the house the weary builders toil in (VAIN).
Peace and love to you and yours…………gene
