It seems that remnants of the earlier genes still exist in modern animals.
I saw a report recently about reverse engineering genes in a chicken. Since a chicken evolved from a dinosaur, scientists may be able to cause some of the dormant genes to again become active, creating a new chicasaur.Tim

Hi Stu,So you say. I was wondering why we don't have an equally long list of the creatures that spanned the changes from gills and scales to feet and air breathing lungs.
Or the span from reptiles to feathered, flying birds.
I thank you for taking the time out of your life to share information with me. I can't seem to get my head around a “perfect way” to put into words the points I'm trying to make.
If and when it comes to me, you'll be the first one I hit up with it, okay? In the meantime, you carry on thinking that some non-intelligent force just “fluked” us all into being………….and I'll stick with the truth that everything about this earth and the solar system screams “INTELLIGENT CREATOR”.

There are equally long lists for those other transitions! I just posted one list as an example.I think it is worth the effort to define those questions as well as you can. In that way you can really come to a critical understanding of what it is to know our origins.
You are entitled to whatever religious story makes you happy. The more you ask those questions above, the more you realise that actually there is no satisfactory explanation to be had by the concept of “intelligent creator”, actually no explanation at all.
You will appreciate that I do not agree with your characterisation of natural history as “fluking” things, and I certainly disagree that the Judeo-christian god can be characterised as “caring”, of you mean the petulant genocidal monster described in scripture.

Or perhaps there is a code base for all living things and all our difference are expressed higher up the stack?E.g., Photoshop and MS Word are completely different, but sit on the same code stack, the OS.

40 something percent of human DNA is in common with daffodil DNA.Perhaps it is possible to turn Stu into a flower by turning off and on the right combinations.
It could be a new experience for him as he seems to concentrate heavily on his ape side.

I'd hate to disappoint you t8, so I'll remind you that I also concentrate on your “ape origins” too. And the fact that you and I ARE both apes by definition.Shame you cannot have any pride in your distant ancestry.
Why are you embarrassed about that?
Or is it because you can't let facts get in the way of a selfish salvation project that gets you into eternity ahead of others.
Maybe that is survival of the fittest…or of the most deluded.

One. Why do you ask?Stuart

I'd say at least these 14 but would concede that the number is probably more, depending on your definition of species and your definition of human:Homo antecessor, Homo cepranensis, Homo erectus, Homo ergaster, Homo floresiensis, Homo gautengensis, Homo georgicus, Homo habilis, Homo heidelbergensis, Homo neanderthalensis, Homo rhodesiensis, Homo rudolfensis, Homo sapiens idaltu, and Homo sapiens sapiens.
Why do you ask?
Do they all add up to 151?

There is only one 'species' of Human!
And YHVH does not Create 'homo's'!.
