I wonder what they make of the title “God of gods”?  Or “God Most High”.  Or “God Almighty”.

    Hi Mike,

To show that “God” is supreme over all.
Not so that you will believe that there
are others that are supreme as well!

    God bless

    Pierre,

I think that is exactly what causes most people to scream in protest, “THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD!”  This is what they've been programmed to believe.  This is what they think is the “right thing” to say.

I understand them, because I've heard the same thing all my life.  But since I've started reading the Bible, I've come to know that many things I was told growing up are just not scriptural.  This is one of them.  For many, it IS taboo to even contemplate another powerful spirit being besides the Almighty Father.  Unfortunately, this taboo was instigated by the same people who brought us the Trinity Doctrine.  They figured if they could convince everyone that there was LITERALLY only ONE god in existence, then they could convince those same people that Jesus must BE that one god – because he is called “god” after all.

Just another twisting of scripture brought to us from the ones that would have us worship Mary as the Mother of God.  :)

    Hi MB,
But your pushing of the point is to establish a possibility that Jesus was one of those lesser gods with God in the beginning.

    But the WORD was GOD.

    Nick,

ALL Greek Biblical scholars (even the Trinitarian ones) acknowledge that “a god” is a grammatically correct translation of John 1:1c.

Why must you insist on a translation of “THE god”, when John specifically calls one of the gods “THE god”, and not the other one?

Why must you insist that God can be WITH God? ???

Are you oblivious to this nonsense?

No, Ed. A part of one cannot be said to be with that one.

You don't say, “I'm going to the store, and I'm going to take my brain, spirit, feet, and soul with me.”

    Nick,

Why would you resurrect this thread?  Now you, Ed, and I are discussing this same thing in two threads.

And then Ed went and linked us to “the Word” thread – making it THREE threads.

So now I'm having the same discussion in the “Pre-existent” thread, the “Wake up” thread, and the “Word” thread.  ???

    Hi Bodhitharta.

I follow the scriptures only, and there is no record of Jesus addressing mary as mother.

    wakeup.

    Hi Wakeup,

When Jesus was asked: “what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”
Jesus said:   “Honor thy father and mother.” (Mark 10:19)
…do YOU think Jesus was excluding himself?

    God bless
    Ed J (Joshua 22:34)

    EDJ.

Jesus called David lord; so how can David be the lords father.
It is mary that ought to honor Jesus. Before mary was jesus is.

    wakeup.

    Hi Wakeup,  (Link)

You remind me of Jammin, he dosn't answer my questions either.

You answered a different question, one that I didn't ask?
I didn't ask if David was Jesus' father?
Nor did I ask if Mary ought to honor Jesus?

    What I instead asked is:
Q#1…do YOU think Jesus was excluding himself
when he said one of the requirements for a man to inherit eternal life
was for them to honor their father AND THEIR MOTHER?

Now will you please answer the question that I asked?
Along with a second question I now have based on your dodging the first question!

Q#2 Are YOU suggesting that Jesus was(?) not a man?

    God bless

Yes; one should honour father and mother, for this is written in scripture.

Are you insinuating that Jesus himself is guilty of this; when he said; who is my mother or my brother?
And ;woman what have I got to do with you? he called her woman; never mother;once.
Is he guilty? Did he brake his own law?
    ———————————-
Yes Jesus was a man;a person.

yes,I believe that Jesus came out of mary's whomb.
The womb was chosen to make the word flesh.
God could have turned the word into flesh in a wink, without the use of a woman. But that wont make him as his brethren.

    Jesus never called Peter satan:
He turned to peter, where satan stood to influence him.Jesus loved Peter,He was the first chosen I think.(rock).

Jesus called Mary woman; because he knows what we dont know, and that he was mary's creator; and that he was before mary, when he was with his father.

Even Jesus his grand father David called Jesus ,MY LORD.

Here is that scripture again: luke 10:22. do you believe this?
This great mystery only the son can reveal to whom he will.

    Mary being Jesus biological mother;
did you somehow 'think' they did?

    Hi Wakeup: YES, I do…

                            Jesus lineage explained

“Son of Man”: 25%; Mary's mother's lineage was of the tribe of Levi. (Luke 1:5, 1:36)
“Son of Man”: 25%: Mary's father's lineage was (Judah) through Nathan(son of David). (Luke 3:23-31)
“Son of God”: 50%: Jesus' Father was the “HolySpirit”; NOT Joseph! (Mathew 1:18 / Mathew 1:20 / Luke 1:35)

    At birth: Jesus was 50% HolySpirit(God)(Matt.1:18 / Matt.1:20 / Luke 1:35), 25% Levite(Priest) and 25% Judah(King)!
At baptism by John the baptizer, Jesus was filled with the HolySpirit(God) beyond measure! (John 3:34 / John 1:14)

Here is why Jesus is called both the “Son of Man” and the “Son of God”…

                       Mother         Father
                        Mary         HolySpirit
                         50%           50%
                             \              /
                               \          /
                                 Jesus
                                /        \
                              /            \
                            /                \
Son of Man     Son of God
                 (Mark 6:3)        (Luke 1:35)
