GB,
So back to scripture.December 23, 2008 at 6:09 am#115376GeneBalthropParticipantNick……..Sure…….Matt 18:21-22…> Then came Peter to him , and said , Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and i forgive him? till seven times, 22….> Jesus saith unto him, I say not to thee Until seven times: but Until seventy times seven.
Then Jesus went on to show what happens to those who recieve mercy, and denied it to others. You want scripture for that also NIck?
If it were me i would be a little more careful on denying God's mercy on anyone at all.

God loves being merciful.
Do not presume on His mercy though.December 24, 2008 at 4:21 am#115506GeneBalthropParticipantNick……if God doesn't have mercy YOU WONT BE SAVED> Guaranteed. God has concluded (ALL) under SIN that he might Have (MERCY) on ALL. If God has concluded YOU UNDER SIN< tell me how the will you be saved without MERCY then.

The mercy of God is unto the merciful[Mt5, Mt25]
The ALL you quote is IsraelDecember 24, 2008 at 5:59 pm#115539GeneBalthropParticipantNick………So God will have mercy on Israel but the rest of man kind He will Not . So the God you portray is a God of respecter of Persons, maybe you would like Him to Be, but scripture disagree with you again. “For GOD IS NO RESPECTER OF PERSONS” And what He did to Israel shows He is not a respecter of Nations either, He is the same to everyone ” I change NOT, He is the same yesterday and today and forever He says. His mercy and Justice to always the same no matter who is involved, again He is (NO) respecter of Persons or Nations as scripture plainly shows, What He did to the Nations before Israel came into their land, He also did to the nation of Israel. His justice is altogether fair and just. His ways OF MERCY and JUSTICE are for ALL,Ultimately , not a picky few, as you teach.

Please concentrate on what scripture says.
Personal opinions are not relevant.Taking verses out of context and adding greek logic to embellish it can show disrespect to the Words of God.
December 24, 2008 at 6:43 pm#115544GeneBalthropParticipantNick………can't you realize that your problem you not able to do that and therefore you limit your understanding of what is said. Where have i taken a verse out of context and what it says does not apply to my point. I told you a lone time ago you look at scripture in small blocks and are missing the whole picture often. Fore instance if a Scripture says God Doesn't lie , I can apply that any where it is still true God doesn't lie. But you would say no God doesn't lie only in context of that one scripture, you see how foolish that is. There are (MANY) things written that can be applied out of the single context of a single sentence. You can't say “O” i don't believe it because it's not in context , it might be able to be applied to thousands of other contexts as person is talking about. If you were to say the sky is blue to day, and i were to say Nick said the sky is Blue, and left off today, would that be taking it out of context if i used that in another sentence and quoted you as saying the sky is Blue. NO. Its the same in scripture. This context thing gets to be a cop out for people who don't have understanding enough to put scriptures together, and draw from them and apply them for an overall understanding. Blocking scripture only lead to (NO) Growth in spiritual understanding IMO

You say
'This context thing gets to be a cop out for people who don't have understanding enough to put scriptures together, and draw from them and apply them for an overall understanding. 'No you have to treat scripture with respect.
Let it speak.Is 28
' 9Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.10For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: '
December 24, 2008 at 7:23 pm#115549GeneBalthropParticipantNIck………..”the SUM of GOD'S word is (TRUTH) not little just little blocks of contextual statements only. You quote Is 28 , you need to do that Nick, leaving the elementary teaching about Christ, and mature and grow, get of the milk Nick. Don't (worry) about being barbecued your not going to be. You might have to face (INTENSE JUDGMENTS) Yet you will be saved I believe.

Take each morsel for it's own beauty and do not make a goulash of God's word.
You do not have the right to do so.Let it speak without your embellishments.
December 25, 2008 at 10:08 pm#115710NickHassanParticipantHi,
Lk12
5But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.December 25, 2008 at 10:10 pm#115711NickHassanParticipantHi,
Lord Jesus will punish his wayward servants.
Lk 12
45But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;46The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
47And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
48But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
December 26, 2008 at 1:42 am#115727GeneBalthropParticipantNicl………. you need to recomcile your quotes with other quotes, “For you have (NOT) recieved the SPIRIT of FEAR, but of POWER and a SOUND MIND, have you received that SPIRIT yet Nick?, It doesn't appear so. DO you have the love of GOD that Casts OUT FEAR. or are you still trying to become perfected by FEAR, When Scripture shows (“Nothing is PERFECTED IN FEAR”) Simple amazing at all the scripture you egnore to push your religious theologies. Here something for you to Chew on, Who was Jesus talking to when He said that was it not those CARNAL MINDED ISRAELITES who were (STILL) under the OLD COVENANT, that operated through the medium of FEAR. Here is also something i bet you don't do , Jesus said you give tithes of money and cumin, but leave out the weighter matter of the Law, judgement with mercy, this should (YOU) have DONE and not left the other UNDONE. SO being that you want to operate under the Law and FEAR, then are you to followings the masters words and giving tithes of all you posses and make sure you do (NOT) leave it undone. Much of Jesus words was for people who were still under the OLD COVENANT as Chosenone said. You have to understand the difference Jesus also said if you will enter the Kingdom of God Keep the commandments so are you Nick.? WE true Christians have come unto a (NEW) and LIVING WAY. NOT the OLD WAY of FEAR and CARNAL COMMANDMENTS. Which they couldn't keep and neither can you.
This is why a novice shouldn't teach they lack the depth of understand and only cause confusion trying to go back and forth between the old and New Covenants.
love and peace to you Nick………………gene
December 26, 2008 at 2:12 am#115735NickHassanParticipantGB,
In another thread you seem to teach obedience to the LawBut now you teach it is not necessary to follow the Lord who was graced with the fear of God?
“NIck……….>Then don't be a hypocrite make sure you are Keeping every thing He (your master) said NICK, including (ALL) the LAWS, everyone of them. Are you tithing as He said to. Are you keeping the Sabbath as he said to you must keep (ALL) the law remember thats what he told the rich young ruler to do so are you doing that? or do you pardon youself and preach fear to others. Amazing.”
December 26, 2008 at 2:25 am#115736GeneBalthropParticipantNick…….Don't get confused i truly believe in Keeping the commandments in fact that is what God Has written on my heart by His spirit, the difference is (the way) , You is through the operation of (FEAR) me it Through the operation of the LOVE of God which fulfills (ALL) the LAW> Big difference , FEAR or LOVE , guess which one really works?
love and peacw to you and yours…………….gene
December 26, 2008 at 2:39 am#115738GeneBalthropParticipantNick……what you are failing to see is Jesus was talking to people who were still (under the law) they were still Carnal and were under obligation by Covenant to keep all the law. WE ARE NOT UNDER THAT COVENANT. WE ARE UNDER GRACE (God's influencing on our hearts.) A completely NEW COVENANT.
love and peace to you Nick……………….gene
December 26, 2008 at 3:02 am#115745NickHassanParticipantGB,
So how did not lose your carnality if you say it is a process?
Seems we have to decide to be led by the Spirit.December 26, 2008 at 3:18 am#115748GeneBalthropParticipantNick……I can't get rid of mine or your CARNALITY, and Obeying the LAW wont either, in fact you can't on you own get rid of the CARNAL MIND, It takes GOD HIMSELF to do that we can't , He has to transform us or regenerate us.Thats why it says we are saved (BY GRACE) and that (NOT) oF YOURSELVES>” A Leopard can't change its spots, Neither an Ethiopian His skin.” Nick GOD knew that the CARNAL MOIND wasen't subject to his ways if was impossible for them to be, But a CARNAL Mind is subject to FEAR, So GOD turned loving commandments into (LAW) forced compliance. But that could never make Him right in his heart, Therefore by works of Law (NO) flesh shall be (JUSTIFIED) why? , because being forced to obey through the medium of fear never changes the heart of a man.
peace and love to you and yours……………gene
December 26, 2008 at 3:30 am#115751NickHassanParticipantGB,
So God forces nobody to do anything.
Thus no man should assume on his salvation because he has tasted the powers from above.Heb6
4For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,5And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
