    Pierre,

That is an excellent scriptural example!  :)

In Gen 3:4, Satan lied, because they did surely die.  And if you consider that a day to God is like a thousand years to us, then they actually died “on that very day”, because no human has ever lived more than 1000 years.

On the other hand, what Satan said in verse 5 was the truth, for their eyes WERE opened, and they DID become like God, knowing good from evil:

    Genesis 3:22
And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil.”

Wakeup, I'm with Ed on this one.  Satan uses truth to deceive.  Just read the passage on the temptation of Jesus.  What part of the things Satan said to Jesus were lies?

Remember that Satan masquerades as an angel of light in order to deceive even the elect, if possible.

I guess you could say that Satan's doctrine is false.
It consists of truth as bait and lies as the hook.

But overall, his doctrine is false and his behaviour is evil.

    Hi T,

God said that in the last days, He would pour out His spirit on all flesh, and that 'sons and daughters would prophecy, and old men would have dreams, and young men would have visions.

When I said to you that I believed it to be true, perhaps that is part of some things that i have seen. It is not something that i would put on a forum though.

    Hi 2besee,

The bible also says that Jesus
is going to raise us up on “THE Last Day”,
“THE Last Day” means no “1,000 years” afterwards.

This is strong evidence that Jesus second coming
and our physical resurrection are separate events (IN TIME).      …what say you?

I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
Joel 2:29 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
Joel 2:30 I will show wonders in the heavens
    and on the earth,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
Joel 2:31 The sun will be turned to darkness
    and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.
Joel 2:32 And everyone who calls
    on the name of the LORD will be saved;

    there will be deliverance,

    T,

The last day and the day of the Lord is the same day, it is still to come.

    Mal.4

[1] “For behold, the day comes, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble; the day that comes shall burn them up, says the LORD of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.

[2] But for you who fear my name the sun of righteousness shall rise, with healing in its wings. You shall go forth leaping like calves from the stall.
[3] And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the LORD of hosts.

    2Pet.3

    [1] This is now the second letter that I have written to you, beloved, and in both of them I have aroused your sincere mind by way of reminder;

[2] that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles.
[3] First of all you must understand this, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own passions
[4] and saying, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things have continued as they were from the beginning of creation.”
[5] They deliberately ignore this fact, that by the word of God heavens existed long ago, and an earth formed out of water and by means of water,
[6] through which the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished.
[7] But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist have been stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

[8] But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

[9] The Lord is not slow about his promise as some count slowness, but is forbearing toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
[10] But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up.

[11] Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of persons ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness,

[12] waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be kindled and dissolved, and the elements will melt with fire!
[13] But according to his promise we wait for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

[14] Therefore, beloved, since you wait for these, be zealous to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.

[15] And count the forbearance of our Lord as salvation. So also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given him,
[16] speaking of this as he does in all his letters. There are some things in them hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other scriptures.
[17] You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, beware lest you be carried away with the error of lawless men and lose your own stability.
[18] But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

Hi Ed I do not know. What do you say?

    Hi 2Bessee,

“The last day” will be “THE last day”.      …NO more days after “the LAST day!

“And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose
nothing (except 'the son of perdition'), but should raise it up again at the last day.

And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him,
may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”  (John 6:39-40)

And likewise “The first day” was “THE first day”.

“And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.
And the evening and the morning were the first day.”  (Gen 1:5)

Notice how the religious try to make the bible say what it doesn't say?
And ignore or discount what the bible actually does say?

It's hard to tell what they thought, Pierre. They may have been shaking all that day, expecting death to come at any minute.

The point is that God does not lie. And if God said they'd die “in that very day”, then God must have been talking about a 1000 year day – or He would have been the One who lied.
