John 14:26 NIV
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.Does it really say, But God, whom the Father will send in my name………… ?
Did the Father SEND “God” to the disciples to remind them of everything Jesus had said to them?
Hi Mike.So yes I can confidently read those verses and understand them, just as they are.
So then it makes perfect sense to you to say, The Father sent God to the people. ?
The Father sent his Holy Spirit.Check this out:
Jesus promised to 'send another Comforter', the Holy Spirit. Then He said, 'I will come to you'………….God was Thought, Word, Breath, Spirit. Jesus of Nazareth was a human 'body prepared' Hebrews 10:5.
John 14:15-23.
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you for ever,
even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him; YOU KNOW HIM, FOR HE DWELLS WITH YOU, and will be in you.“I — will not leave you desolate; I will come to you.”
Jesus just said that he would send the Comforter (Holy Spirit) to be with them forever, then He said that HE would come to them….
“Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more, but you will see me; because I live, you will live also.
In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.
He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.
Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?”
Jesus answered him, “If a man loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and WE WILL COME TO HIM AND MAKE OUR HOME WITH HIM”.How, Mike, do you explain that?
2Besee.DO YOU NOTICE JESUS SAYING?
THE COMFORTER WHOM THE WORLD *CAN NOT RECEIVE*.DOES IT RING BELLS?

No, no idea
I was talking about breaking MY WORD in the past, 2B. Yet you of course didn't know this, because a person's word is NEVER called by their own name.Ie: The Word OF God is never called “God”.
The word OF Mike is never called “Mike”.

So then we should all try to understand Paul's words AS THEY WERE WRITTEN, and NOT go ADDING our own word “IN” into those verses?Thought so.

Hi T,
Jesus said that He could do nothing on his own account, and that He only did what He saw the Father doing. (John 5:30, John 5:19)
When He said that He was in the Father and the Father was in Him, it was through the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit connects the Father and the Son, and the Holy Spirit connects us with the Father and with the Son as well.Together they are one, just as believers in them are one with them.

Read verse 3, where Jesus said he was going to prepare a place, and then return for them.In my understanding, Jesus is saying that FOR THE TIME BEING, he will ask that the Father send a DIFFERENT comforter – the Holy Spirit. Then, a little while later, he himself would come to them to take them to the place he talked about preparing in verse 3.
What do YOU think is being said? That Jesus at one point refers to the Holy Spirit as a DIFFERENT comforter, and then just starts referring to it as HIMSELF?
That seems a little odd, don't you think?

Hi Pierre,The Holy Spirit is God's Spirit.
By having the desire to change course
in one's life (which is the meaning of repentance),
God implants his seed which is “The Word” (or his Spirit) in us.“he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak” (John 16:13)
God bless

EdjThe holy spirit is from God ,if it his Gods spirit or a part of his spirit I do not know, but what I know his that the scriptures were written under the influence of that holy spirit and so anyone that accept as the true written words of God and grave it in his heart ,he will be blessed by it for he has now the truth in him and all the things he does and think would be as per those words in his heart ,and so serving the only true God,of cause God can implement his blessings according to his will and so make things happen for his own name and glory,
Like miracle ,
But unless you fully know and accep the scriptures you do not have or can not have the holy spirit,

Mike, I said that the Father sent his Holy Spirit to be with them/us.
You said:“So then the Father did NOT send “God”? Doesn't that go to show you that the Holy Spirit OF God is not actually “God Himself”?
Paul explains this.
1Cor.2:11 'God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For THE SPIRIT SEARCHES EVERYTHING, EVEN THE DEPTHS OF GOD.
FOR WHAT PERSON KNOWS A MAN'S THOUGHTS EXCEPT THE SPIRIT OF THE MAN WHICH IS IN HIM?
SO ALSO NO ONE COMPREHENDS THE THOUGHTS OF GOD EXCEPT THE SPIRIT OF GOD.'As you can see, The Spirit reveals God to us because God's Spirit (The Holy Spirit) searches everything, even the depths of God.
The question is asked 'What person KNOWS a man's thoughts except for the spirit of the man which is in him'………….So also no one comprehends God's thoughts except for the Spirit of God.
No one knows the Father except the Son…………….. (put it together now Mike – if no-one knows the THOUGHTS of God except the Spirit of God — 'no one knows the Father (Thoughts) except the Son (Spirit).

Okay….
My spirit is only my spirit, it is nobody else's. You have your own spirit and I have mine and everyone else has has their own spirit. So our spirits have a name. It is our own name. Not only OUR NAME but also US.Same with our word. Our spirit and our word go together, of course a word can be shared, so can a spirit. But it comes from the original source.
