Wikipedia entrance on imputed righteousness
Discussion of these concepts are complicated by different definitions of key terms, such as “justification” and “grace”.
Imputed righteousness is the righteousness of Jesus credited to the Christian, enabling the Christian to be justified.[citation needed]
It is written about Abraham whose day was before the age of the Anointed that he was imputed with righteousness. (Romans 4:22 and James 2:23)
This reveals the errors of claiming that Christ righteousness is imputed (credited) to believers.
Not only is it not written that it was Christ’s righteousness that imputed to anyone but the fact it also happened to Abraham before Christ died would mean Jesus Christ sacrificed himself for nothing being as such righteousness was already available.
It is such a large flaw that it is clear that those who believe that the righteousness of Christ is imputed to them want to believe the false claim and so do not sincerely test it.
Righteousness is imputed to those whom believe that they will stop sinning by the power of God. It is credited to them because they believe God will give them the power to overcome all their sins. This is done by living by the Spirit at all times and who try hard to enter that narrow gate will be credited with righteousness because it both can be done and God is empowering them to do it. The only way to do it is by obeying all the teachings of Jesus Christ.

You still believe you can save yourself/
And you want folks to follow you??
August 3, 2015 at 12:07 pm#801579NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Joshua had his filthy robes removed and he was covered with festal garments in Zech 3
The prodigal son had the best robe put on him by his father.
But you think you can acquire your own righteousness?
Rom 10.2
For not knowing about God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God
August 3, 2015 at 4:00 pm#801590kerwinParticipantNick,
I see you cannot prove that the righteousness of Jesus is credited to believers.
Please quote one Scripture that says that it is.
Do you really believe God does not have the power to overcome all your sins?
August 6, 2015 at 6:45 pm#801836NickHassanParticipantHi kW,
you are confident that you can do it all by yourself?
good luck
August 18, 2015 at 12:53 am#802236GeneBalthropParticipantKrwin……We can’t contribute just some of our salvation to GOD THE FATHER, WE MUST contribute it “ALL” to Him. Even the sacrifice of JESUS was to demonstrate GOD’S RIGHTIOUSNESS, not anyone else’s. We are truly saved by the GRACE OF OUR HEAVENLY FATHER, WHO IS OUR GOD.
I could be wrong, but I believe you have that position of self rightiousness because you believe on a so-called “freewill” and so to you your choices are all based on the self will, which would exclude the work of GOD IN YOU right?, And establish a rightiousness from the self. So where would the “GRACE” OF GOD fit into that senerio, who needs “GRACE” when we can do it all ourselves? . IMO
peace and love to you and yours. ……………gene

Hi kW,
you are confident that you can do it all by yourself?
good luck
Matthew 19:25-26Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? 26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
August 18, 2015 at 9:18 am#802247kerwinParticipantGene,
The grace is that God gives us the Spirit to teach us and the power to do it. Without God it is impossible.
August 18, 2015 at 10:21 am#802252NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
The fruit of the inner teacher at work is apparent when our teachings mirror scripture and do not add.
August 18, 2015 at 2:08 pm#802258kerwinParticipantNick,
It is true that it is not written that Christ’s righteousness is imputed to believers.
August 18, 2015 at 2:49 pm#802260NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Is there any other kind?
August 18, 2015 at 8:22 pm#802262kerwinParticipantNick,
It depends on what you mean by righteousness. If you mean that the individual has never sinned then only Jesus of all human beings has that kind.
If you mean that a person has sinned and and then turned away from that sin and then no longer then those believe achieve it when the are fully mature in Christ. God chooses to cancel the penalty of sins past. (Romans 3:25)
Imputed righteousness is for those that are not in the new covenant or for those that have not yet become fully mature in Christ.
August 18, 2015 at 9:28 pm#802264NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
You still dare to promote your facile and foolish notion that RIGHTEOUSNESS is the same as SINLESSNESS.
For you the absence of the negative proves the positive
Wake up.

According to Jesus we must live by the truth to see the light ,meaning to understand the scriptures, he also said to worship our common God in spirit and truth
For if not doing so we would have nothing at all
Righteousness in my understanding is the product of living by the truth
August 19, 2015 at 5:21 am#802267942767ParticipantHi KW:
The following scriptures may help:
Rom 4:1
What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
Rom 4:2
For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
Rom 4:3
For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.Rom 4:9
Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned
to Abraham for righteousness.Rom 4:11
And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:Rom 4:23
Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;Rom 4:24
But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;Rom 4:25
Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.August 19, 2015 at 6:31 am#802268kerwinParticipantNick,
Why do you accuse God of sinning?
Seek first his righteousness and his kingdom.
August 19, 2015 at 6:34 am#802269NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Foolishness.
Is goodness the lack of badness?
Is the quality of an apple defined just by the lack of evident rot?
August 19, 2015 at 6:36 am#802270kerwinParticipant942767,
Romans 4 introduces the question of whether Jesus died in vain for imputed righteousness was already available to Abraham and others before Jesus chose to sacrifice himself on the cross.
August 19, 2015 at 6:38 am#802271kerwinParticipantNick,
You keep implying God sins with your words.
Those that follow the true gospel put on their new self that is created like God in true righteousness and holiness.
August 19, 2015 at 6:42 am#802272kerwinParticipantT,
Those that follow the true gospel worship God by living by the Spirit and by truth and so bear the fruits of the Spirit and not of the flesh.
Those that walk by the flesh will not inherit the kingdom of God.
