there are verses in the bible calling Jesus as God. but i can't find any verse wherein Jesus himself said “I am God”.
what are the explanations in those verses calling Jesus as God, or verses that are parallel with God Father and Jesus like this:
2 Sam. 22:3 – God is the horn of salvation – Luke 1:68-69 – Jesus is the horn of salvation.
tnx.

Christ had divine origins and was with God in the beginning.
He is a servant of God and the channel for the saving works of God.Acts3

Sevena It does not say a God it says that He was God. If you take God has a Family name you will find it easy to understand. Jesus is the SON OF God. Second in line. He is our Savior Jesus Christ. He is King of King and Lord of Lord. He deserves all honor and glory, but not worship. That we should only do to God the Heavenly Father. He deserves all worship and Honor and Glory. Jesus is King of Kings in the Millenium. After that He will give the Kingdom back to God so God can be all in all.Peace and Love Mrs.

What did the Messiah teach on the matter?February 15, 2008 at 5:54 pm#81561seek and you will findParticipantjhen Tux! You gave alot of scriptures here, so I am going to take 3 to show how you are taking scriptures out of contact.
First of all the Father as never spoken to any Human.
John 5:37 ” And the Father himself, which hath send me, hath borne witness me. Ye have neither HEARD HIS VOICE AT ANYTIME, NOR HAVE SEEN HIS SHAPE.”
Second, I am is not a name, it is so much to tell us, He has always been. just as the Son acknodwledged
the fact, that He was before Abraham. The Fathers name is Johovah.
Ps. 83:18 ” That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Johovahm or the most High over all the earth.”
Most Bibles have the name Johovah replaced with “the LORD. notice the capital letters in LORD.
Third God does not always refer to the Father. God was used in ancient times, as we use boss today.
Ps. 82:1 ” God standeth in the congregation of the mighty, He judges among the Gods.”
That is what God means, a mighty one, a strong and powerful one, if you are not refering to the Father.
Peace and Love Mrs.
February 15, 2008 at 8:52 pm#81606Mr. SteveParticipantjhenTux;
The Father himself called the Son God in Hebrews according to Paul, who quotes Psalms. However, Jesus depicts his relationship with the Father in living color with expressions far beyond just titles. Christ refers to the Father as his God.
He was accused of making himself God when he referred to himself as the Son of God. Everyone in the New Testament refers to Jesus most appropriately as the Son of God, not God.
However, Jesus made unique claims that no other human could make to show that he pre-existed with the Father as the Son of God prior to being sent. He said he was returning to the Father from whence he came from above. No one else in the Bible ever makes such a claim.
John summarizes why he wrote the gospel of John and says it was to show that Jesus is the Son of God and that by believing in him ye would have life through his name. It is in the name of Jesus that demons flee, the lame walk, the dead are raised, etc. Paul says in everything you do, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus.
February 15, 2008 at 8:55 pm#81607sirius1ParticipantIt must be remembered that Christ, in His incarnation, came in the capacity as a man to redeem men and women. This didn't make Him merely a man…He was still properly both divine and human, but He operated chiefly as a man and if He hadn't then we could never have been handed over a righteousness to justify us and a substitutionary death to pardon as well that would have been suitable for mankind. Since the law was given to man, so a man had to both obey and suffer and this is why the gospel story speaks more of His humanity than it does of His divinity and makes the tragic mistake easier in assuming that He was human and nothing more. He was divine, and if He hadn't been then His death would only have had finite redemptive value for us and would have likewise locked Him and us up forever in the realm of the dead as He wouldn't have had a second nature to rise by having lost His sole nature upon the cross, but this didn't happen and all because of Christ's dual natures.
What a glorious and all-wise Redeemer…Both human and divine!February 15, 2008 at 10:33 pm#81675NickHassanParticipantHi S!,

Let me show you were you are wrong in your believe, that Jesus was both, spirit and human.
Heb. 2:16 “For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him
the seed of Abraham.”Jesus was never divine or immortal, when he was with us. A divine nature, and immortality,
was his reward for becoming our sacrifice, he received both after he ascended up to heaven.John 5:26 “For as the Father has life in himself; so has he given to the son
to have life in himself.”Notice, the Father gave the son immortality, a divine nature, after he had completed his mission
hear on earth. Had he been immortal before, he could not have died for us. That's what immortality
means, death is impossible.I AM, former IM4Truth

I agree with Jesus not being divine while on earth but as I understand scripture He was both spirit and human just as we have a spirit (And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.), This did not prevent Him from being 100% human while on earth.Wm

Hi:The following verse indicates who God has revealed to us that Jesus is. This verse is quite clear, and I don't know why people won't accept what God has said to us.
Quote Matthew 16:13
When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am ?
16:14
And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist *: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
16:15
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am ?
16:16
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
16:17
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And so, who is Jesus? “The Christ, the Son of the living God”. Does that say that he is God or did Jesus ever say that he is God?
Quote Ephesians 4:4
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
4:5
One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
4:6
One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
4:7Ephesians 4:6 states that there is “one God”.

February 16, 2008 at 11:49 pm#81882seekingtruthParticipantM4Truth,
I apologize I responded to the title. I do believe that we are spirit, soul, and body. the following verses I believe are clear that we do have a spirit. My servants will sing out of the joy of their hearts, but you will cry out from anguish of heart and wail in brokenness of spirit.
“This is why I weep and my eyes overflow with tears. No one is near to comfort me, no one to restore my spirit. My children are destitute because the enemy has prevailed.”
Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things?
While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”
But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.
The best one I found was.
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.
Otherwise who is the “our spirit” in this verse.

“to God, wise alone, be the glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen.”–NW
“To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.”–KJDoes saying that Jehovah is wise alone mean that no one else is wise? No, it means that comparitively speaking, no one else is wise.
Similarly, with this:
(Mark 10:18) “Jesus said to him: “Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.”
Of course, many people are rightly called “good.” But that was not the point being made.Similarly, when we read:
(John 17:3) “This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.”We see 2 distinct ones here: Jesus and the one that sent Jesus, the only true God.
Yet Jesus is also called God. Does this mean he is the only true God, or does it mean that compared to all else, Jehovah is God Almighty, the only “true” “might one.”
God basically means powerful one or mighty one. Hence, the angels, satan, human judges, all called gods. They were all mighty ones.An angel is a mighty one to us, but not to Jehovah. Jehovah is a mighty one (God) to them, to everyone.
Jesus is certainly a mighty one (God) to us, but not compared to Jehovah who alone is called “Almighty” in scripture. So, the explanation for verses calling Jesus “God” is basically:
God means “mighty one.”
Jesus certainly is a mighty one.
