Quote (Lightenup @ Sep. 09 2010,16:16) Pierre,
I don't know if we are told if the angels were made in God's image and we know that originally satan was an angel. I know man is made in God's image and that the Son of God IS God's image.Col 1:15
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
NASUSo, I wouldn't exactly say that Christ reflects God's image but that He IS God's image as in the above verse. The Son is also the exact representation of God's nature and the radiance of His glory.
Heb 1:3-4
3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
4 having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they.
NASU
Kathiyou did not understand my previous quote .Satan versus Christ= both are spirits but one reflect God s nature,
what is God nature you may ask?
well it is simple Gods is love,God is righteous,God is true, God is truth, God is holy, God is good,God is just,God is wise,God as knowledge byon all other knowledge,God is powerful,God is alone God,God is our father;;;;;;;;;IS NOT JESUS ALIKE IS FATHER??YES HE IS ..SO IT IS TRUE THAT CHRIST AS THE SAME NATURE THAN HIS FATHER…Pierre
AND SATAN THE OPPOSITE??

September 8, 2010 at 10:52 pm#215512LightenupParticipantRegarding that which are called gods (things made and created) compared to that which is called God (has the nature of God and not created or made) from the writings of Addeaus the apostle:
Quote Flee, then, from things made and created, as I said to you, which are only called gods in name, whilst they are not gods in their nature; and draw near to this Being, who in His nature is God from everlasting and from eternity, and is not something made, like your idols, nor is He a creature and a work of art, like those images in which ye glory. Because, although this Being put on a body, yet is He God with His Father. To respond, though – See SF's response – this sums it up nicely. Such hope of the revelation and the reality are much welcomed.
Too often I see two people debating a point with counter intuitive reasoning – too close in to see that they one is saying “I” and the other is saying “Eye” and both right in themselves for their view point but completely lacking any possibility of convergence to satisfactory agreement.
if they had only stopped to define what they both meant then perhaps the debate would take a different, more agreeable path, maybe!
As for the Muslim, when two people are arguing – they often don't realise how much they repeat the same point over and over – that's why there is such things as Mediation where a third party can derail the circular one track argument or set the train of disagreement into a siding and blow off some steam – toot – toooooot – toot tooooooooottt!!!
Seek the DEFINITION Before the argument starts to kick off because it will be hard to check oneself once that train is in full moment under full steam heading downwards to destructiveness in a buffer.
Good to see you askin' – Just, though!
Quote Good to see you askin' – Just, though! JA, what is the point in asking ? When theres so many opinions ? What does The Father want us to know ? That is the question.
Does He want us to know anything but what is in scripture ? Why do you think God works with people by leading them to scripture and speaking to them through it ? I have no need to ask you or anyone anything because when I have 'moments' where God shows me things, it is through scripture, or 'revelation', and when I'm in those moments I have clear understanding most of the time as to what it means, then at other times there is nothing (like at the moment) so I would rather wait for God than push things to my own or others understanding. I could ask you or anyone else something, you give me your answer, but that's your answer…then again, sometimes it would be easier to trust what someone else say's, to believe and to follow and trust them, human nature, but does that person have the truth ?
So, what would God have us know ? Rather, what would God have us DO, The Testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy, theres a question for you, what does that mean ?

Hi Shimmer,I think when people see the word “procreate”, they imagine a male and a female having sexual intercourse to produce an offspring. I think that's why some people here voted “NO”. But here's what “procreate” means:
pro·cre·ate /ˈproʊkriˌeɪt/ Show Spelled [proh-kree-eyt] Show IPA verb, -at·ed, -at·ing.
–verb (used with object)
1. to beget or generate (offspring).
2. to produce; bring into being.
–verb (used without object)
3. to beget offspring.
4. to produce; bring into being.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/procreateIt just means to produce offspring. Scriptures say that Jesus is God only begotten Son, and Psalm 2:7 has God saying, “Today I have begotten you”, so apparently God “produced offspring” by the name of Jesus.
According to the scriptures, the answer to Keith's question is an undeniable “YES”, but like I said, people think it has to do with a male and a female, so I think that's why many voted “NO” here.
In fact, I bet if someone re-posted the same poll with the actual definition of what “procreated” means in the first post, the results would show that only 2 regulars on HN – Keith and Jack – would vote yes. Because whatever else the rest of us disagree on, we ALL seem to think that Jesus was caused to exist by his God at one point or another. And “caused to exist” is really all “procreate” means.

Sure it does Keith. It's just that sometimes the word is used figuratively. Like when Paul “beget” Onesimus, Paul became his “father”. Paul FIGURATIVELY procreated Onesimus, right? Now all you need to do is find that one little scripture that implies that the word “begot” was FIGURATIVELY used in referrence to Jesus. And if you find that scripture, you'll have to figure out which FIGURATIVE defintion fits best for what God did to Jesus. Aside from the literal “caused to exist”, you only have these three to choose from:
1. to engender, cause to arise, excite
2. in a Jewish sense, of one who brings others over to his
way of life, to convert someone
3. of God making men his sons through faith in Christ's workThese are the “metaphoric” uses of the word “gennao”. Which one do YOU think applies to what God did to Jesus, Keith?

Pierre,
I think you ought to read this closely:Quote Eph 4:10-16
10 He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.)
11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,
12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;
13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.
14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;
15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ,
16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

Quote Scriptures say that Jesus is God only begotten Son, and Psalm 2:7 has God saying, “Today I have begotten you”, so apparently God “produced offspring” by the name of Jesus. Acts 13:13…
“God hath in full completed this to us their children, having raised up Jesus, as also in the second Psalm it hath been written, My Son thou art — I to-day have begotten thee“.As written in Psalms….I today have begotten thee, the day being as it say's, having raised up Jesus.
I believe Jesus was a Man, though concieved of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit came to dwell in Him, Maybe this happened at conception, or maybe when the Spirit was seen descending on Him at the River Jordan, I dont know.
What existed before then was the Holy Spirit, what is the Holy Spirit ? It either is God, is Part of God, Is from God, or as in Hermas is called The Son of God.

Hi ShimmerExactly! But they do not want to believe what that scripture says just like they do not believe these…
So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. Heb 5:5
So when was Jesus made High Priest? It had to be after he came in the flesh. The context of this scripture is about Jesus in the flesh.
For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? Heb 1:5
Why is the Father saying “I WILL BE to him a Father and HE SHALL BE to me a Son”?
Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou [art] my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Pss 2:6, 7
When did Jesus sit upon the Holy hill? The Holy Hill is refering to the dwelling place of God.
This scripture cannot mean he was begotten before the ages or time because it says he is begotten on a day.
But these facts they refuse to believe and keep making the same claim that there is no scripture that says Jesus was DECLARED to be the Son of God, the Only Begotten by the Father and has nothing to do with “procreation” by birth but by his right.
