    Thats right Ed,
and there will be a day when all will be tested.
A day when we have to make a choice.
Will we give up our tv, and our nice warm bed?
will we let go of our computers, and our cars, and all our little luxuries, that made our life more comfortable?
what about our homes? can we give this up too?
All these little things that we never worshiped or loved more than God, can we give it all up in one day?
on the day we have to make a choice?
How hard it will be for all that have many possessions,
and for all the “successful” blessed christians that never went without.

    Hi Georgie,

    You preach a false message.

It won't be as hard for me as it will be for some others, because I don't own squat anyway. :)

And that god is a man made god called MONEY.
With money comes power, with power comes control.

I don't disagree with you, but consider what human quality drives the DESIRE to have that money, power, and control.

Surely we've all heard the phrase, “to proud to beg”, right?

25 years ago, I had a nice house in the country, nice cars, lots of money, and lots of nice material possessions.  I was on a fast track to being a millionaire.  Then 4 years ago, I was homeless and broke, begging on the street.  It was at that time that I asked a God I had never believed in for help.

Today, God has placed me in a position in which I'm totally content.  I have a roof over my head, clothes to wear, and food to eat.  I don't have much more than that, but more importantly, I don't WANT more than that.  My life now echoes this passage:

    Proverbs 30
    7 “Two things I ask of you, Lord;
do not refuse me before I die:
    8 Keep falsehood and lies far from me;
give me neither poverty nor riches,
but give me only my daily bread.
9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you
and say, ‘Who is the Lord?’
Or I may become poor and steal,
and so dishonor the name of my God.

I have already lived the two extremes mentioned in verse 9, and neither brought me true happiness.  Nowadays, I have just enough to get by, and I am the happiest that I've ever been.

    peace,
    mike

    Mike B.

You obviously had a bad experience.
    Ask yourself these questions:
Where would you be today if you had become a millionaire?

Would you live in a humble house?
Would you be driving the average car?
Would you mix with the rich and successful only?
Would you eat in the most expensive restaurants only?
Would you have God in your mind?
Would you think in your heart that you are higher than the less well off?
Would you feel the power in being rich?

Most people do change in attitude.(not all).
Just look at holywood: from rags to riches, and they are all cocky.Money does corrupt a person that is not in God.

    wakeup.

I had to lose it all and be brought to my knees before I was humble enough to even realize there was a God – let alone ask Him to help me.

I'm happy I lost it all, for it was nothing but material treasures anyway.  Had I not lost it, I might not have ever known about treasures in heaven.

I don't know that God had a hand in bringing me to my knees in the first place – but I am convinced that He has had a hand in my life ever since I asked Him for help.

Everything works for the good, to the ones that fear God.
God chastise them he loves,he put us through problems to draw us to him.

We are chosen before the world was created.
He knows who belongs to him.
He also knows that success in the material world can take us away from God.

We ought to praise God even in hard times, that makes our worship more accepted.
