Hi KW,
Are you not in the body of Christ?
Does the Spirit of the Son not live in you?

It is no longer I that liveth but Christ that liveth in me.September 2, 2014 at 1:57 pm#746623NickHassanParticipantHi,
If you do not have the Spirit of Christ you are none of his.

So should we listen to those who do not?Beware of misusing Scripture for Satan also misuses Scripture.

Rom8Why should I bother answering that question? You would not believe me if I said yes and I am not so insecure to say. Jesus teaches us the we will know them by their fruits.

What does Rom 8 have to do with accusing the brethren?
Surely you have the Spirit of Christ?September 2, 2014 at 4:14 pm#746861NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Christ Jesus of course.Men rely on their own weak resources too much
September 3, 2014 at 2:52 am#747792GeneBalthropParticipantTo all……..Now if the spirit that was “in” Christ Jesus dwell in you he shall quicken your mortal body, now that is not talking about the man Jesus, being in you but the spirit that was “in” him. When Jesus went to the Father he sent the spirit of truth from God the Father to abide in us. Jesus did not come him self, but the spirit that was abiding “in” him, which was from God the Father. “Know you not that your “bodies” are a temple of the living God”. Jesus said plainly he was not a spirit after his resurrection, but some can not except his words it appears, they force the text to say what in fact it is not saying. If anyone here has the spirit of the Christos (anointing spirit of God) in them they are one with the man Jesus and are sons of the living God. Just as the man Jesus is. We can come to the measure and “FULL” stature of Jesus who is the Christ (the anointed one of God).

Indeed when he rose from the dead he showed his flesh and bones body to them.
Do you think when he met Paul on the way to Damascus he still had the damaged old body?
Where two or three are gathered together in my name I am among you
September 3, 2014 at 7:19 am#748096NickHassanParticipantHi GB,
When Jesus returns in glory with the angels will he still be limited by flesh needs?
September 3, 2014 at 8:13 am#748113GeneBalthropParticipantNick……When Jesus returns yes he will still be a SON OF MAN, he will drink wine with his diciples in the kingdom of God which he will setup on this earth with the resurrected saints. Jesus will still be a human being with his healed, but none the less “physical” (spiritually sustained) body. What makes you think a resurrected physical (spiritua1-sustained) human body is weak. Was Samson’s spiritual empowered physical body weak?
You do not understand the power of the spirit in a physical body, or you wouldn’t call a physical spiritually resurrected body cured of all its weaknesses weak. REMEMBER WHAT SCRIPTURE SAYS, “IT” (the weak dead body) IS RAISE IN “POWER” AND GLORY”. THE WORD ‘IT” MEANS THE SAME “RESTORED” BACK TO LIFE BODY, Nick simply believe what it says brother. Paul taught of the restorations of our physical bodies, ” for we look forward to the resurection, that will witness the redemption of OUR BODIES.”. The word “our” identifies the BODY Paul is talking about.

Hi KW,
And do the fruits include making scripture mere idioms/I already answered that by quoting Paul’s preference for hear five words that he understand rather than a multitude of words he does not. The fruit of Spirit includes seeking knowledge.
From what I see you do not seek understanding. Perhaps you struggle with it and I do not see that. I myself have trouble with self-control.
2 Peter 1:5-7New English Translation (NET Bible)
5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith excellence, to excellence, knowledge; 6 to knowledge, self-control; to self-control, perseverance; to perseverance, godliness; 7 to godliness, brotherly affection; to brotherly affection, unselfish love.

You have no evidence what you say is true.
1) It is certainly not written in literal form.
2) According to you it would be sinful of you to use reason to derive it from Scripture. In short you are just saying it without and real support from Scripture.
September 3, 2014 at 8:40 am#748131NickHassanParticipantHi GB,
The Spirit lives now in men.
But their bodies still become degenerate and they die.
They are dependant on food and water and other practical necessities of earthly beings.
We will be like the man from heaven not the man from earth.
Like to the angelsSeptember 3, 2014 at 8:42 am#748132NickHassanParticipantHi KW,

Quite so.
And no improvement is possible?
We will become like the Son, like the angels.Goodbye to earthly needs
September 3, 2014 at 8:59 am#748135kerwinParticipantNick,
The new creation is not the old creation.
New bodies and transformed minds still enlivened by the Spirit.Romans 8:20-21New English Translation (NET Bible)
20 For the creation was subjected to futility—not willingly but because of God who subjected it—in hope 21 that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of decay into the glorious freedom of God’s children.
Old creation: body subject to frustration, bondage to decay.
New creation: body set free from those things and delivered in the glorious freedom of God’s children. When God created the generations of heaven and earth they were not subject to frustration, bondage to decay. That happened when humidity sinned. Creation became the old creation as a result of that sin.
