    Nor will belief in anything.

If there is a soul to be saved, and it can be, then it will be.
If not, we have no control over the outcome.

Hi T, you sly ol' fox, :D

I have never seen anyone try hold on to life as
    tenaciously as a “true believer”.
    Don't kid yourself, they care.

This thread has gone way off topic.  Do any of the atheists out there have an actual explanation to the points that t8 and Wm made in this thread?

If the eternal monkeys will take one gagillion years (or whatever) to happen upon the minute amount of information stored in the 23rd psalm with random keystrokes, then how to you explain the vast amount of information stored in even the most simple single celled organism randomly coming together to form life in only 15 billion years?

Where did the intelligence to even tap the “evolutionary keystrokes” come from in the first place?  Obviously, it takes at least some intelligence to even tap on the keys of a typewriter, right?  What intelligence was tapping the random keys to produce life in such a short amount of time?

I'm obviously not as smart as some of you guys on this thread, but I'm smart enough to know that none of the atheist have even attempted to address the issue of the opening post.  They are instead attempting to focus the attention of the readers on the difference between apes and monkeys.  ???

I'm also curious about the origin of Tim's notion of “deserving” either good or bad things in his life.  He said he was doing better than he “deserved”.  Deserved from WHO?

And now for 1 Pet 4:1.
“If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also.”

Yes I realise the stance that the world will have and when this hate peaks, it will be back to the bad old Colosseum days.

Small price to pay for the reward though.

Belief in the truth is the exception. Ignoring the truth in anything usually has detrimental effects.

    Thanks Mike.

We can assume that the answer is no and hence why the conversation is about the difference between monkeys and apes as well as how dangerous to the world we are.

    T8,
Great posts, however I think you forgot some commas – When intelligence is not involved, what do you have left, Stu?

Sorry Stu I couldn't resist, in fact you are intelligent, to a point. But you have become vain in your reasonings, contributing the glory of God's creation to pure chance. It surely demonstrates the truth in scripture, “22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools”. I know you've heard it before and don't accept it, but if you cannot see the futility of clinging to your “religion's” impossible postulation it probably bares repeating.

    My opinion – Wm

Ha ha. Just noticed that. Thanks for the laugh.

My name is magilla and I am typing this out without realising it. Just tapping the keys randomly and this post is the result.

You have to at least give this credibility because it lines up with your view of the universe. If you are insulted by this post, then you have at least some common sense here, so please apply that same common sense to your current view of of the universe and reality.

By whom are you talking to. These posts are the random tappings of keys remember. And this should be the first explanation you have because it is the one that you use to explain the universe.

    Stuart

Correct, you have no idea if there is a God or not.
If you say no, then that is your belief system that you have faith in.

I do have an idea about whether there is a god or not.

That idea is that since no god believer has ever produced unambiguous evidence for his god claim, therefore it is a valid provisional conclusion that the god believer is deluded, and no gods really exist.

That's not a faith-based belief that I hold because it is not based in evidence, it is a scientific conclusion based in the fact that there is no evidence.

Yes, they have already been posted in other threads in the past.

But, since it seems this information needs to be punched in more than once, here are some pertinent points:

    * The number of years it would take to type by random means any historical text, be it something mind-numbing and of comfort to the deluded like the 23rd Psalm, or something that accurately analyses the human condition, like a soliloquy from Shakespeare, has nothing whatever to do with the way genetic information came to appear in DNA. Read Chapter Three of Richard Dawkins's The Blind Watchmaker to understand the difference between random typing and cumulative selection.

    * The differences between apes and monkeys has been the only matter of interest or consequence raised in this thread. The rest has consisted mainly of creationist canards that are at least 40 years out of date.

    stu

so I have to assume that you have no believes ,not even in yourself, nor in tomorrow ,or next week ,if you have any kids you also do not believe anything about them or what they would become ????????

if you are maried ,do you believe in a close sentimental and entiligent relationship ???do you build a future to that relationship ???

the fact that you have educated yourself in the sciences of the understanding of some men ,do you believed them in all they say ???

    if not ,why not ???

the fact that you do not believe in God an creator does not mean that you can claim that you are an non believer ,

you just have chosen not to believe in God the creator

so it is a choice that you have made that all.

Then we must be speaking beyond your ability to understand. I will dumb things down for you. Actually might need to dumber or dumbest them down. I will let you choose.

    Dumb, dumber, dumbest.
