It is amusing to watch christians arguing over how they will argue over their nonsense fantasy stories.

    Keep up the good work!

    Hi Stuart!

    Kang just called me an ape (a few Posts back on this thread);
looks like he's beginning to think more and more like you.

    ED J,

I meant that by your chest beating you act like an ape. WJ and I are just not interested in discoursing with you. But you beat your chest claiming you have sacred us off.

    Stu,

For the record Mike is considered “anathema” by the Christian Church and is therefore not a Christian. Though not an athiest Mike is not a Christian like you (no insult to you intended).

Don't take it as an insult. It is true! That will deflate the ape that calls you an ape.

I am a proud to be an ape too.

I have no religion, so no insult perceived (except you nearly called me christian!).

Anyway, this is the kind of interchristian bunfight I love to watch.

    Carry on!

Hang on, isn't anathema a Catholic status?

And I thought this was alleged to be an Arian forum.

A belief is not nothing even if the belief is nothing. A belief, no matter what is always something. So you are religious. Your religion states that nothing is the originator (in your case).

I hope that this can open up formal Debates between two individuals or teams of individuals which can be organized and instead of there being a winner or a loser, we become humble students of the word.

Do you expect this process to result in atheists becoming humble students of “the word”?

What if “the word” is shown to be wrong?  Does that concept exist in Texas?  :)

    Stuart

    Wow its Stu,

commenting on this forum to make me look stupid, I feel honored.

Actually to be honest i didnt have atheist in mind when it comes to a christian debate format.  I would rather use LD Debate (lincoln and douglas) format to discuss with a Atheist.  and maybe a tweak of CX to make warrants have more impact.

The problem as you have stated, Christians are beating the apes out of eachother, to no end result.  Im trying to make a organized debate so they can finally reach a conclusion. stead of runnning away or restating things that have already been discussed or dropped.

anyways in Texas, there isnt a religious debate that exists publically.  There are many that debate privately, but not under any format.

anyways Stuart, For the way most of us react, and act incorrectly, and even disagree and fight eachother, i dont blame you for not believeing.

in conclusion, Christians need a way to finally settle things formally, instead of the hit and run tactic, and stating what scripture does not say.

Yes, SF. This board has those who seek the truth, the religiously bound, and those who refuse to accept that there is a creator, (also bound by personal belief).

So it is no wonder that we have what we have here. A three way debate. Although in truth, what we have are those who align to truth and those who do not.

You have to admit that it is entertaining in the least. The same thing happened in Jesus time.

His biggest opposition wasn't from atheists, but from the religiously bound, (the pharisees).

Mike debates with Paul (the NT writer) all the time…..

Just forget it guys.  I don't feel like debating within a format anyway.

Backing out Mike? That's very hypocritical after you accused Jack from running away from you all over the forum.

Paul, is that really an honest quote of the statement I made? I'm a moderator now – do you want a brick, mister? :D  :D

Just kidding. But you did not post my eagerness to debate Jack with a moderator to make him actually ANSWER my points. We have a perfectly good debate going on right now – he just refuses to answer my last post…..repeatedly.

I second that. What about it.
To make it easy, just one thing per topic and let people weigh in when one person decides to dodge a legit point.

    Hi SF,
I've got some thoughts but I'll wait to see if Mike accepts before I lay it out if that's okay. Mike might not like my conditions but I have to do this on my terms due to some other commitments I have.

I already gave my conditions, Paul:

    1. No million word posts. Let's take ONE point at a time. I know there are sometimes multiple scriptures to support your view of that ONE point, but I don't want to answer to EVERY scripture in the Bible on EVERY post. Bring them on one at a time unless the two are tied into one “evidence” to support your view.

    2. No harrassment. Capitals and bolds are great for highlighting certain parts of your statement, not for “yelling” at your adversary. And these graphics, insults and ridicules are not Christian, and IMO are childish and counterproductive.

Let's keep it clean and respectable, and may the truth win in the end.

What are yours? And I'm not thrilled about any “format”. I just want to finally have my questions answered. t8's plan works fine for me.

Yes an honorable debate would serve the truth better than trying to promote one's ego.

I am still burning from your false accusations that I said that Jesus is above His Father.

You actually said that Jesus' love SURPASSED the love of God.  Water under the bridge.  But you shouldn't be mad at me about it – you're the one who said it.   :)

    Quote
And we did discuss the Right Hand point on Echad 2. I even copied and pasted the beginning of our discussions to the debate because I did not want to discuss points we had agreed upon elsewhere.

I have repeatedly asked two questions about right hand – you have failed to EVER answer even one of them.

    Quote
Then I asked you what Jesus is doing at God's right hand and you said He is “waiting” on God.

Yes, I remember.  I quoted word for word scripture, and for some reason you think it is funny.   ???

    Quote
I am willing to debate anything on your list that we have not discussed but it must have format with an end in sight.

The end will come very quickly if you are forced to actually answer my points instead of running your smoke and mirror game.  If you want to limit rebuttals, then your rebuttals MUST deal with my point – not do and end run around them.

And why can't we finish what we've already started?  Prove you are serious about this and answer my 2 questions on our debate thread.   :)    If you do that, and Dennison agrees you have DIRECTLY answered the points, we can move forward.  I have ALWAYS answered your RELATED points – you should too.  Even when I didn't know the answer, that was your answer.

KJ's got first dibs, I'm happy to wait my turn. I agreed when it looked like your debate had fallen through but now Jack has made a very reasonable offer to you. You should take it up. We can do ours later when i'm on top of my other commitments.
