There are some here that in order to cling to the erroneous doctrine that spirits can eat and drink deny that Jesus gave evidence that he was not a spirit after his resurrection by allowing himself to be touched and eating.
Luke 24:39-43
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. 40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet. 41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? 42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. 43 And he took it, and did eat before them.
Why does Jesus tell his students to handle him? It is obvious to reveal he has a body that can be touched. Why does Jesus ask his students to give him food to eat? It is obvious to reveal he can eat. Both of these he did to make his case that he was not a spirit.
So if a spirit can be touched as an angel has been touched then Jesus instruction for his students to touch him means nothing.
So if a spirit can eat as angels have eaten then Jesus demonstration that he could eat was evidence of nothing.
So did Jesus act deceptively or are the claims of these people that angels are spirits proven false.

Gene,I am just using this passage from Luke to point out that if and being eats or is touched it is not a spirit as that would make Jesus out to be a liar.
You are correct that certain people choose to invent a device called a spirit body and place a spirit(soul) in it in order to justify their teachings but that is another thread.

2besee,It does not sound like I agree but words can be interpreted in various ways. Jesus is a man, even now, as he is the man the mediates between God and his brothers. One of his qualifications for High Priest is that he is a man. He lives in us by his Spirit just as God lives both in him and in us by the Spirit.

This flesh will be changed.
The mortal will put on the immortal.
The perishable, the imperishable.Read 1 Corinthians 15 to get an idea on the different types of bodies (of the sun and the moon and the stars, etc) and how that each have a different type of a glory, one from another. And how our own bodies can be changed, though still A BODY.
Paul says that it is not known how the body will be changed, but it will be changed to be like Jesus, in the twinkling of an eye.

Wakeup,In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Each bears a form as God desires. Eden is no more on earth and yet Revelations 2:7 speaks of its existence. Since it is not on earth it can only be in the heavens. Eden is not composed of spirit though it is Spiritual. The heavens are a physical place where a physical Eden now abides. The physical forms of the heavens are not the physical forms of earth though they look like them in some cases.
1) I do not believe the angel kind mated with the human kind as Jesus teaches us angels neither marry or are given in marriage. I believe that before Enoch was born that Lucifer led the fallen in rebellion and that he and they chose to accuse man and so by inference God.
2) Scripture assumes that those that readers it know that there is an immortal flesh body possessed by Adam before he sinned and ushered death into the world. To deny this body some have chosen to claim death was already in the world when Adam sinned. The inference of their claim is that Scripture is wrong for claiming death came in the world through Adam. That body changed when the man was cursed with the curse that it would return to the dust it was made of. In this way the Spiritual adam sinned and became the natural adam. When Jesus comes again the righteous among the sons of adam will change to become Spiritual in body as the saints in Christ were already renewed in spirit. As Adam was so will believers

Brothers, this is what I mean: Mortal bodies cannot inherit the kingdom of God, and what decays cannot inherit what does not decay. This should be plain from other places in Scripture where flesh is the label God chooses to use for the origin of sinful desire. You should question taking 1 Corinthians 15:50 in a literal sense as soon as you read that Jesus was raised in a flesh and bone body.
I bring these things up to point out Paul's words do not invalidate Jesus'. As for the topic, Jesus stated a spirit does not have flesh and bone and yet you claim they do at times. You are clearly disagreeing with Jesus. This is why we are to watch our own teachings.
Kerwin. Can you please answer these questions?
1.Did not the fallen angels have sex with humans?
Did they not create giants?
They must have materialise to have sex,and have sperm.2.Will the living in Christ not be taken up in a blink of an eye?
and quickened? From flesh to spirit?
Not from flesh to glorified flesh. There is not such in scripture.wakeup.
In this way the Spiritual adam sinne
d and became the natural adam. When Jesus comes again the righteous among the sons of adam will change to become Spiritual in body as the saints in Christ were already renewed in spirit. As Adam was so will believers be and the the new earth will be a paradise as Eden and heaven are.
Kerwin. So you dont believe in Genesis ch.6.
Where the fallen angels mated with humans. How can you;for it will only contradict your doctrine.
But yet, you believe that angels are made of flesh.
And so is Jesus ,because he can eat and drink.I believe that your study in prophsies
has not come to the full.Paradise will be restored for the jews brought back
by choice. She will be in Jerusalem.
Where there is no pain, nor sorrow,no tears.
The lion will eat straw. This will be after the coming, and his kingdom set up on earth. The tree of life is no other than king Jesus,in his kingdom on earth.Paradise for those jews brought back. This is what Jesus is refering to in rev2:7.
Only through Jesus can we have eternal life.
The tree of life in the **previous Eden** was also
the Word of God in the form of a physical fruiting tree.Flesh and blood, nor flesh and bone, can not inherit the kingdom of God. There are no ways to go around that statement.
We will be as the angels; ministering *spirits*.
Angels are *NOT GIVEN* into marriage.
But those FALLEN angels *CHOSE* to marry humans, for
they rebelled against the law in heaven. The *FIRST MAN ADAM*BECAME a living soul, when God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.
From ashes they are created;and to ashes shall they return. They were created from the dust of the ground **BEFORE THEY SINNED**.
Satan and his angels rebelled in heaven, not as waging war
in a physical way but disagreeing with the rules of God.
But they could not operate in heaven, because they are all spirit. They have sinned in their hearts, but have not acted in practise. But since man was made flesh; now is mankind his play ground, for he can manipulate the flesh.
Satan acted upon his plan, and now is guilty of sin.Kerwin;much much more to learn.
wakeup.

I don't have my Bible on me, but something like that.
Correct me if I'm wrong anyone.
2Besee.You are wrong.
Angels though spirits have a bodys.
One shines brighter than the other.
There are different kinds of flesh.
Beef/chicken/fish/praws/squid/crab.
Take your pick.
You like it deep fry,or stewed. If fallen angels can make babies,
why is it so hard to believe,
that they also can eat and drink.wakeup.
