Hi Ed,
You really should not read scripture to prove what you thought was true.
It is so malleable that false teachings easily arise.

If you have felt the wind of the Spirit guiding right choices be grateful for grace.
March 20, 2015 at 2:28 pm#791181Ed JParticipantThe Apostles were “Chosen” as were ALL the Prophets *chosen before* The evidence is quite clear,
you are of course free to reject the evidence as you do have a free will; you do have “free will” right?Hi Ed,
The witnesses were all chosen and commanded to testify and give witness to the works of God.
None of those involved were not chosen.
Hi Nick,
RIGHT, and those that were “Chosen” were few in number! (“many are celled, but few are chosen”)

Hi Nick,
My understanding came from Scripture – did you ‘think’ my understanding came from somewhere else?
“I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.
I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts. I have refrained
my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.” (Psalms 119:99-101)B’shem

I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that
heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear” (Ezek 3:26-27)March 20, 2015 at 3:05 pm#791191NickHassanParticipantHi ED,
Everyone says their understandings came from scripture.
But how many are taught by scripture?
March 21, 2015 at 10:46 am#791249Ed JParticipantHi Nick
……………………….Many are called, but few are chosen
“we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem;
whom they slew and hanged on a tree: 40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;
Not to all the people, but unto witnesses *chosen before* of God, EVEN TO US,
who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. And
he commanded us to preach unto the people, and TO TESTIFY
that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
To him give *ALL THE PROPHETS* witness,
that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.” (Acts 10:39-43)The Apostles were “CHOSEN” as witnesses as were all the Prophets before them
1. Only few are chosen
2. Jesus Christ is chosen
3. The Apostles were chosen
4. All the Prophets were chosen
5. These are the writers of the bible.Nick?
March 21, 2015 at 11:10 am#791251NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
So the apostles who did not write are a problem?
Why pursue this false trail?
March 21, 2015 at 11:26 am#791254Ed JParticipantHi Nick,
For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire
laborers into his vineyard. 2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, 4 And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. 5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. 6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? 7 They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive. 8 So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first. 9 And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. 10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny. 11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house, 12 , These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day. 13 But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? 14 Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee. 15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good? 16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matt 20:1-16)The Kingdom parable is talking about “the laborers in the vineyard”
Are not the “CHOSEN” – Apostles and ALL the Prophets – laborers in God’s vineyard? (<– please do not dodge)
If you answer “YES” to this question then you are agreeing with me.

”Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” – JEHOVAH GODMarch 21, 2015 at 11:43 am#791258Ed JParticipantHi Nick,
“Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own?”
And, by the implications of this question, Jesus Christ is suggesting “he” is “Owner” – is he not?
March 21, 2015 at 11:54 am#791259NickHassanParticipantHi ED,
He is the giver of payment.
The amount he gives is his perogative.
Is this another of your rabbit holes?
March 21, 2015 at 11:56 am#791260Ed JParticipantHi Nick,
Jesus Christ is suggesting “he” is “Owner” or No?
March 21, 2015 at 11:57 am#791261NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
Apostles are the ones who are sent
Then there are the teachers and healers and all the others who are given roles serving the King.
You obsess over things that serve your own dogmas it seems.
Whom do you serve?
March 21, 2015 at 11:59 am#791263NickHassanParticipantHi ED,
The owner of what?
The payment?
March 21, 2015 at 12:15 pm#791266Ed JParticipantHi ED,
The owner of what?
The vineyard
March 22, 2015 at 2:11 am#791312davidHParticipantseems this thread has pretty much kept on track as in still talking about the only place the original phrase is written,
Thank you
March 22, 2015 at 6:08 am#791316NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
“Jesus Christ is suggesting “he” is “Owner” or No?”
Why would suggestions be relevant?
March 22, 2015 at 6:09 am#791317NickHassanParticipantHi ED,
And the answer is no.
He makes no clear suggestion that he personally owns the vineyard.
March 23, 2015 at 5:53 am#791423GeneBalthropParticipantNick……The suggestion is that it is “his” vineyard, that does suggest ownership.
peace and love to you and yours. ………….gene
