    To all

No question, the word “god” has been much debated.
    What does it mean?
    Who all is god?
What kind of god is Jesus?
So I thought I bring to your attention that the bible speaks of many gods, in many places.

Psa 81:9 There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

The question is, who or what, is a strange god?

Psa 82:1 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

Who are the mighty that are referred to as gods?

Psa 82:6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

So, does that mean if you consider yourself a child of God, you are god?

Psa 86:8 Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.

Psa 95:3 For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

Psa 96:4 For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.

Which god is greater then any god?

Psa 97:7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.

Who are all the gods that should worship “him”, who is “Him”?

Psa 97:9 For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.

Into what category of gods does that put Jesus?

I have checked from chapter 90 to chapter 100, if any of the verses speak of any one else except the LORD God, the Father, you have to point it out to me.

PS 96:6 Splendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary

this verse seems to point to Christ ,because Christ is our sanctuary before God

    Hi Georg,

I'm glad that you took my advise and decided to teach!
Instead of asking others questions for them to specify
what they believe in order for challenge those beliefs?

    God bless

Georg ….> the word GOD or ELOHIM means POWERS, the LORD YHWH is the POWER or GOD above all POWERS or gods lesser powers. He is the almighty GOD or POWER. We can never forget what Jesus plainly said in prayer, “FOR THOU ARE THE (ONLY) (TRUE) GOD”. We are also told to have no other GOD besides HIM, the LORD GOD. imo

That's right, even Paul told us.

1Cr 8:5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

1Cr 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Jesus is the head of the spiritual temple, the saints, but, that is not God's sanctuary, temple, in heaven. It is the temple of God's Holy Spirit, dwelling in the hearts/minds of men.
And yes to the next three questions.

    Hi Georg,
You asked what kind of god is Jesus. He is the kind that we can believe in and as we believe in Him, we actually show belief in the Father.

    John 12:44-45
44 And Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, does not believe in Me but in Him who sent Me.
45 “He who sees Me sees the One who sent Me.
    NASU

    John 14:1
14 “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.
    NASU

I would think that if Jesus was not God in some sense, He would be blaspheming when He tells others to believe in God and Him. My opinion…I do think that the fact that we are to believe “in” Him is an indicator of His divinity. Are we ever asked to believe “in” someone other than God and Jesus in the NT?

Well, I know all those scriptures, and I agree with you; But what do you mean by “””I would think that if Jesus was not God in some sense”””, because that was my question. When the Bible was written the word or title “god” was used quite frequently, but unless it referred to some idol god, it meant nothing more than being a strong one, or mighty one, just as we today call someone in a higher position “boss”.
I believe that our faith in Jesus, is really faith in the Father, that is what I think Jesus was saying in verse 44. Since we are not eye witnesses, our faith is in the word Jesus left us, believing it is the word of God, and so our faith really is in the Father. For Jesus to ask us to believe in him doesn't make him divine. He was the one that came with the message from God, people saw him and had to believe him that he was sent by God; for Jesus to say believe me, was the only assurance he had for the people; they had more than what we have, all we have is the Word; our faith is “in” the Word.
