Why go beyond what is written?
Nickbut it is written if you and others can see it ,what can I do about it ,?
February 11, 2012 at 5:31 am#277072NickHassanParticipantHi MB,
Indeed Jesus CHRIST is the Word.
The WORD was made flesh and dwelt among us
Filled with the Spirit the man Jesus went about doing good and healing all those oppressed of the devil for God was with him.acts 10
But men would highlight the flesh?

I agree, Pierre, and told him that very thing the last time he was around. But what's even worse than the non-answers are the flippant remarks insinuating that the other person is not following scripture – without ever showing where they deviated from the scriptures.

The WORD was MADE flesh? Or came to be IN someone who was flesh? Which one, Nick? Also, you didn't answer:
Is the WORD an individual being, that is alive separately from God?February 11, 2012 at 6:12 pm#277163NickHassanParticipantHi MB,
What does scripture say?February 11, 2012 at 6:14 pm#277164mikeboll64BlockedPlease answer both questions DIRECTLY, Nick.
February 11, 2012 at 6:20 pm#277167NickHassanParticipantHi MB,
I quoted scripture but you could not accept it?
BEING is an added theological wordWe need to stay out of that miasma and stay with the Word
February 11, 2012 at 6:31 pm#277188mikeboll64BlockedSo then because scripture never calls us “human BEINGS”, are we to assume that we are not such?
ANSWER THE QUESTIONS, Nick……………if you can.
February 11, 2012 at 6:32 pm#277191NickHassanParticipantHi MB,
If scripture does not say it why bother chasing it?
You only have human wisdom to rely on.February 11, 2012 at 6:32 pm#277192NickHassanParticipantHi MB,

Hi Mike, Jn.1:14 And the word was made flesh, and dwelt in us, The Greek word is ev meaning in. The same word used in Jn.1:1 also :2 also :4 also :5.February 12, 2012 at 3:30 pm#277521mikeboll64BlockedQuote (Nick Hassan @ Feb. 11 2012,11:32) Hi MB,
Why do you shout at and bully others?
Why do you not answer questions, Nick? Here they are again:
1. Did the Word BECOME flesh, or did it come to be IN someone who was flesh? Which one does John 1:14 teach?
2. Is the WORD an individual being, that is alive separately from God?
February 12, 2012 at 3:37 pm#277523mikeboll64BlockedQuote (abe @ Feb. 11 2012,12:32) Hi Mike, Jn.1:14 And the word was made flesh, and dwelt in us, The Greek word is ev meaning in.
Yes, one of the meanings is “in”. It also means “with”, “among”, and many other things. So does it make sense to you that something that was made FLESH dwelt “in” us, or “among” us?
Also, this is besides the point, because the word “en” is not in the first part of the statement, so it can't possibly be saying, “the Word came to be IN flesh”.
Instead, what it says is that the Word BECAME flesh. Now Abe, what exactly was that flesh thing to which John referred? Read verse 15 and compare it to the words said about JESUS in verse 30. Then ask youself: Did John the Baptist say the same exact words about the Word AND about Jesus? Or could they be one and the same?
February 12, 2012 at 6:10 pm#277545NickHassanParticipantHi MB,
Must you make scripture salute your logic?February 12, 2012 at 6:16 pm#277549mikeboll64BlockedHow so, Nick?
Btw, don't you have a few questions waiting on an answer from you? When do you think you might get around to answering the questions that will show your understanding to be flawed?
Oh, now I get it!

Hi MB,
Scripture does not expect us to accept one verse theology and logic.
Adding logic to one verse led to denominational division.February 12, 2012 at 6:24 pm#277555mikeboll64BlockedSo, although you CAN answer the first question, because the Greek words are right there for the whole world to see, you choose NOT to answer it because you know it messes up your own man-made doctrine.
I see.
February 12, 2012 at 6:30 pm#277561NickHassanParticipantHi MB,
We know the words and that is not the issue.
Your self appointed status of arbiter of scriptural meaning is.February 12, 2012 at 6:34 pm#277564mikeboll64BlockedIt takes no arbitration to decypher whether 1:14 says the Word BECAME flesh, or CAME TO BE IN someone who was flesh.
So what's the problem here? Whatever BECAME flesh also had the glory of God's only begotten. Who does that sound like? Whatever BECAME flesh had sandals that John the Baptist was unfit to untie. Who does that sound like? (Read verse 30, for the answer is spelled out for you there – no arbitration necessary.)
February 12, 2012 at 6:35 pm#277565NickHassanParticipantHi MB,
SOUND LIKE logic does not wash.
Treat scripture with more respect. It is the wisdom of God[lk11]
