These are all very nice platitudes and true as far as the go but still it is a decision of our will to cooperate with God that makes all of them possible. How does a person make decisions? Is it based on information that we have?

I fail to see the difference between having the same attitudes as Jeusus and loving yourself, your neighbor, and God as The Almighty desired. From what I know you they are the same thing as the atitudes and motives of Christ stem from or lead to the Love that comes from God that is in him.

Scripture can be confusing on this issue because our carnal mind looks at things differently that the spiritual mind does. This appears to have effected your viewpoint illustrated in your last post as you are both correct and incorrect.
Scripture which cannot be broken declares we choose and therefore we chose. So denying that choice is contradict God.
Scripture also declares it is God that makes us righteous and thus that too must be true.
The cycle as I have come to learn it is that creates a living soul within each of us but that some souls he creates to love righteousness though they have an impure spirit that leads them astray. These souls will choose to believe as the love for God will lead to do. Their choice will be rewarded by the gift of righteousness from God. On the other hand the children of Satan have souls that love evil and thus choose not to believe though they may pretend to. They may receive the spirit of holiness for a short time but will cast it off like an ill fitting garment or perhaps wear it enough to camouflage their actions. In the end the spirit of corruption is what their choice reaps.
So we both choose righteousness and righteousness is given to us by God but in choosing we choose what God chooses us to choose.
In this God shows love to some and hate to others just as he loved Jacob and hated Esau.

Hi Gene:He will change us with our cooperation. If we don't want to be changed, He will not violate our “freedom to choose”.

All men want to think they are “FREE” Willer's. but in fact they are not at all “FREE” that is exactly what ADAM and EVE Want they wanted to be Free of GOD and be a GOD unto themselves. that same Spirit (intellect) still exists today in ALL mankind. It is this spirit of Rebellion that works in the childern of disobedience it goers like this, ” I want to be FREE”, (I) want to Freely decide for MYSELF”, “(I) want to live FREE and Live in a “FREE” WORLD”. Hi Gene:Maybe the following scriptures will help your understanding:
Quote Joshua 24:15
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.Quote Matthew 7:21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Quote James 1:22
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.Quote Romans 2:13 (King James Version) 13(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Quote Romans 6:16Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? Quote Hebrews 5:5So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. 6As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
7Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
8Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
9And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Non of those in the old testament or new chose GOD except those who had his spirit on them. Remember what Jesus said “NO MAN (CAN) COME UNTO ME EXCEPT THE FATHER DRAW HIM”>

Hi Kerwin,“Born of the Spirit” is obvious: That is what Jesus calls “Born again”. (John 3:3)
Compare the term Born Again (John 3:3) with the term 'twice dead'. (Jude 1:12)I have had success reasoning with you in the past,
so I'll ask you to explain the term 'twice dead' here…Jude 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear:
clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth,
without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;God bless

Twice dead leaves the “to the spirit of righteousness” implied. All sin is willing as it comes the evil desires within us but some is compelled by an impure spirit while others are voluntary. According to scripture those that continue to sin voluntarily have no forgiveness for sins left. They are the ones I would say are twice dead.
In short one is once dead to righteousness before entering the new covenant and twice dead if they chose to make the major contract violation of continuing to sin intentionally.
