Hi TT
I have noticed your opponent has a rather secular view. Maybe this will help some.
Col 2:1 For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
Col 2:2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
Col 2:3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Col 2:4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
Col 2:5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
Col 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
Col 2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.Col 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
The “all” in verse 10 is applied to power also!
Ye are complete in who? Jesus Christ
And Jesus Christ is the head of all principality and “all” power.
All power is all power, it’s not some power, or most power, it’s ALL power.July 21, 2009 at 8:09 am#138301KangarooJackParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ July 21 2009,11:20) Hi TT,
Yes you spiced up scripture with a few ideas of your own.
But you need to learn the order of things.God is the head of Christ who is the head of man…
Nick,
Are you saying that we have two Lords and two shepherds?thinker

Exactly! Jesus has ALL power and authority. On account of this anti-trinitarians cannot win the argument.thinker

So when Jesus hands over authority to his God as in 1 cor 15 how does your trinity hold up?July 21, 2009 at 3:41 pm#138332Jesus name follower of ChristParticipantthe trinity does not hold up

Come out of those false teachings of the apostate churches. I have prayed for you, that God the FATHER will pluck you out of it.

amen gene there is no trinityJuly 22, 2009 at 5:32 am#138427Christian BikerParticipantI think the trinity holds up quite well in 1 Corinthians 15.
1Co 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
1Co 15:21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
1Co 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
1Co 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
1Co 15:27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
1Co 15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.It is not until the end of Christ’s reign that God becomes all in all. And when God becomes all in all eternity begins. Until then God is not all in all and if God is not all in all than he must be somehow be divided. Let’s take another look at Colossians 2:2, 3.
Col 2:2 … to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
Col 2:3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit…
So we have the Spirit, the Father, and the Son.
God has the role of the Holy Ghost and the Father and Christ has the role of the Son. These are the roles in the trinity.At ALL times ALL power, ALL authority and ALL rule is in one of 2 hands; God and Christ.
July 22, 2009 at 7:01 am#138436NickHassanParticipantHi CB,
Folks have been trying to use scripture to support this human dogma since 200 ad.
But it is not written so the rest is flim flam.July 22, 2009 at 12:32 pm#138445Jesus name follower of ChristParticipantpeople do mak there own doctrine
July 23, 2009 at 3:23 am#138507Christian BikerParticipantIt’s bible doctrine, not mine. I didn’t write it. Don’t be upset if the chapter you chose to refute the trinity actually supports it. I believe the words in the bible are true. God gave us the free will to choose what we believe. I choose to believe the word of God!
July 23, 2009 at 3:36 am#138508NickHassanParticipantHi CB,
It is not a case of refuting the trinity speculation.
It is not written so has no scriptural foundation.July 23, 2009 at 3:57 am#138511GeneBalthropParticipantCB……………..Find (ONE) scripture where Jesus said He was GOD. I can find you many where He shows us He was (NOT) GOD. He said I am going to MY GOD and YOUR GOD, MY FATHER and YOUR FATHER. How do you get around that, He also said for (THOU) art the (ONLY) (TRUE) GOD. When has the word THOU become ME. CB, come out of the false teachings of the TRINITY DOCTRINE, dump that garbage and seek the Truth. And perhaps GOD will remove that delusion so you won't believe the LIE Taught by the Apostate religions of this world. IMO
peace and love to you and yours…………………………..gene
July 23, 2009 at 3:58 am#138512Christian BikerParticipantHi Nick
If you don’t want to believe what the bible says that’s up to you. Let me know how that works out for you.July 23, 2009 at 4:02 am#138513NickHassanParticipantHi CB,
Where does Jesus or one of the bible teachers tell us plainly God is three in one?July 23, 2009 at 4:08 am#138514NickHassanParticipantHi CB,
JUst one verse from either the NT or OT that tells us God is a trinity.
That would be a good place to start in proving this theory.
If you cannot will you dare walk against the crowds?July 23, 2009 at 4:10 am#138515Christian BikerParticipantIt plainly says it in the verse that you say was added to the King James.
July 23, 2009 at 4:22 am#138516NickHassanParticipantHi CB,
That is not much of a foundation then.
Better find another.July 23, 2009 at 4:24 am#138517NickHassanParticipantHi CB,
God is a plain speaker and does not expect us to have to try to read between the lines to find basic truths. This is a trap for those who are too clever for their own good and 1Cor 2 tells us about them.The principle I believe should be followed in 2 Cor 13.1.
Find one plain verse and then one or two more that say THE SAME THING.
Then you have a fact.July 23, 2009 at 4:52 am#138518NickHassanParticipantHi CB,
Most who have come to know Jesus refuse his lordship and teach whatever comes into their heads.
