 I started looking into the Trinity Doctrine because a nine year old kid asked me how could God be in heaven and at the same time be Jesus on earth. I did some research and studied the scriptures and came to the obvious conclusion that the trinity is man made bunk that even trinitarians admit they can't explain. I read the main letter to enter this website and loved it. Bravo and great job! With all the back and forth of the trinity debate (this scrip proves it true, that one proves it false), I thought maybe less is more. My Dad taught me to subscribe to the KISS theory (Keep It Simple Stupid). So let's try that. Ask any child who has a basic understanding of Christianity who God is. Then ask who Jesus is. Then ask if Jesus is God. My point is that children cannot understand how a Father and a Son can be the same being. It takes an adult mind to even pretend to understand the twisted logic that is the Trinity Doctrine. And then only after years of coaching and brainwashing. Consider Luke 10:21, “I praise you Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.” And in Matthew 18:2 Jesus says, “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” So let your mind be that of a little child for a while and ask yourself, “outside of the trinity, do I know of any other situation where a father and son can be the same exact being?” St. Augustine once wrote,”There is so great and equality in that Trinity, that not only the Father is not greater than the Son, as reagards divinity, but neither are the Father and Son together greater than the Holy Spirit.” But we know the Bible records Jesus as saying, “…the Father is reater than I.” (John 14:28) And Paul says Jesus “…did not consider equality with God something to be grasped…” (Phillipians 2:6) So which will you believe-the Holy Word of God, or the traditions of men?

    Welcome mikeboll,
I also asked a question which led me away from the trinity doctrine. Many blessings on your search here.

    Enjoy,

Two and a half years have gone by since I made this thread (my first of many on Heaven Net).  And in that time, I have been challenged to defend my beliefs by delving deeper and deeper into the written word of God.  I've gotten to the point that I can defend against the Trinity and Non-Preexistence Doctrines with tons of scriptural insight, but it all comes back to this first thread I made.  It comes back to how a child would understand the scriptures.

Would a child, who understands that Jesus is the Son of God also think Jesus was the God he was the Son of?  No way.

Would a child who read where Jesus said, “I came down from heaven” start thinking up ways to alter the meaning of that statement?  Nope.

I've now come to know that the world is filled with many people trying hard to force the scriptures to teach what they WANT the scriptures to teach.  It is sad and disheartening for me.

I will continue to accept God's written word like a child.  If Jesus said he came down from heaven, then I will believe that Jesus came down from heaven.

If Jesus said he is the Son of God, then I will believe that he is the Son of God, and not God Himself.

    peace,
    mike

    Hi,
Jesus said suffer the little ones to come unto me.
It is in coming to him and obeying his command to be reborn that we can grasp the deeper matters.

    Hi,
Children are trusting and soon know obedience is the way to walk.
We should not just grasp one revealed truth to our breast but obey.
One revealed truth just gives us more knowledge but also less excuses.

Jesus said ” Why do you call me LORD LORD and do not do what I say?”

    Nick.

We must obey God as A child obey his parents.

    Nick.
The spirit will teach us how to pray, for sometimes we can not utter the words, but God knows what is in our hearts.

    Hi WU,
God know what we need when often we do not.
    Tongues is a valuable gift.[Rom8, Jude 1.20]
