    Hi All,

Keith said this in the Mike verses Francis thread, page 172:

    Quote (WorshippingJesus @ Feb. 19 2011 @ 03:05)

My hope is not to be a brother of Jesus, for I am now a brother and a son of God by adoption.

    I replied:

    Quote (mikeboll64 @ Feb. 19 2011 @ 09:21)

You are a BROTHER of God right now?  ???

He “clarified” his statement by saying:

    Quote (WorshippingJesus @ Feb. 19 2011,09:59)

You misunderstood me. By Jesus humanity I am his brother and a Son of God.

Which got me thinking………….If Jesus IS God Almighty, then we ARE brothers and sisters of God Almighty Himself.  Keith's “explanation” doesn't really follow through as far as I can tell.  I have a couple of problems that maybe Keith could talk me through.

    1.  If Jesus is still a part of humanity, and is also God Almighty, then we all have a HUMAN God.

    2.  If God is only one Being, and we are said to be sons and daughters of Him, then we can't also be brothers and sisters to Him.

    3.  If Jesus is “God the Son”, and we are sons and daughters of God, then we would be GRANDCHILDREN of “God the Father”.

    4.  If Jesus is “God Almighty”, and we are said to be brothers and sisters of Him, then we are truly the brothers and sisters of God Almighty Himself.

Keith, can you help me out on this?  I'm confused.

    peace and love,
    mike

Does the Tabernacle of God make God an object? Therefore Man made?

I voted for “NO, I'm the SON of God Almighty, not His BROTHER.”
However, I am not THE son of God but a son of God.

    Good point t8,

Could you fix the choices to say “a” instead of “the”? In the title too?

    Thanks,
    mike

    Hi Wispring,

It really fits the trinity doctrine, eh?  :)

This is part of the Athanasius Creed:
“So the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Ghost is God. And yet they are not three Gods, but one God.”

And this is a quote from t8 responding to that Creed:
    “Interesting statement that.

It's as if the creed leads people to assume that there are 3 Gods, and then corrects that assumption with enforcing the unavoidable truth that there is one God, but gives no explanation as to why or how 3 are 1.

No wonder confusion is the fruit.”

Which statement makes more sense?  The one from Athanasius, or the one from t8?

It is set in concrete now. I can change a post, but not the choices in the poll.

I think people understand the gist anyway.

    I can't vote here…my choice is missing:
I am the brother/sister of the almighty Son of God
    or
I am the son of God the Father Almighty, not His brother/sister.

Those would be my choices (and I am not ALWAYS this difficult :) )
And yes, I believe in an almighty heavenly Father and an almighty heavenly Son.

So, sorry I can't vote in your poll, Mike.

I must admit I checked it and did not catch the “the” as I assumed it would be “a”.

Yeah it is real easy to do.

When your mind expects something, it is hard to notice if there is a minute difference.

    Hi Kathi,

What do you think the word “almighty” means? ???

And where is your vote Keith? mikeangel? Jack? Dennison?

I'd also like to see you comments.

    Mike

I voted option 2. But once again the question is loaded because the scriptures teach us that Jesus is both God and man.

As to his manhood we are brothers as to him being God he is my Lord and God.

So ask yourself is that “God” that lives in your Temple or is it a man who is your brother?

Mike what is amazing is how you create these smoke screens and diversions.

You do not even believe that Jesus is “human” anymore so how can you say he is your brother?

If he is not a human and can be your brother then why can't he be God and be my brother too?

Jesus is also called “everlasting Father” is he not?

    How about this scripture…

Thus says YHWH, the King of Israel, and His blood-relative redeemer, YHWH of hosts: I am the first and I am the last Isa 44:6

If YHVH is my blood-relative redeemer could it be said he is also my brother?

I believe God can be what ever he wants to us, do you?

I can't vote in this poll either because we are not Christ's brothers. We are His servants and He is Lord ALONE. As a Preterist I acknowledge that the New testament scriptures were written to first generation JEWISH believers ALONE and so much of the scripture does not even apply today believers tday.

Christ is brother to no one today. He is Lord ALONE.

I know that even Keith is going to come after me on this one.

    No Keith,

The question is not “loaded”, as anyone else here will clearly tell you. The question is based solely on scriptural teachings that those of us who receive the anointing are BROTHERS to Jesus, and joint heirs with him of GOD. We will be BROTHERS to Jesus, and adopted SONS of God.

Now, tell me how that makes sense if Jesus IS God. If we are sons of “God the Son”, then we are GRANDCHILDREN of God the Father. On the other hand, if we are BROTHERS of “God the Son”, then we are BROTHERS of God Himself.

Where are the scriptures that support either of these two conclusions that are inevitable if Jesus is God?

    Mike

It makes no more sense to you than Jesus being both God and man. But it doesn't matter if you understand this truth or not for it is still the truth.

Do you think God cannot be like a brother to us Mike?

Tell me how we can be a brother to Jesus if he is not a man?

Do you have a brother who is your god Mike? You did say he was your god didn't you? Is your brother an “angel”?

Uh oh! Keith has really put his foot in his mouth with this one folks! :)

Show me SCRIPTURALLY how we are brothers of God Himself. Because if you can't do that, then what you claim is useless. Just like you say the Holy Spirit has to show me “this truth”. The Holy Spirit will guide some of us into an UNDERSTANDING of the scriptures, so show me which SCRIPTURE the Holy Spirit has guided you to that explains what you are claiming.

The scriptures hold the key, Keith. Otherwise, I could get a bunch of people together to claim Mary was the second cousin twice removed from God. And the only defense I would need is, “The Holy Spirit must show you this, Keith”.

I admit I don't understand it………….so here's your chance to quote the scriptures that teach God as a BROTHER to us.

    I have explained myself Mike.

God can be like a brother to us can't he?

What about him being “our blood relative redeemer”?

You say Jesus is not a human so who has put their foot in their mouth?

How can Jesus be your brother if he is not human?

God can be anything he wants to us, but somehow you must think he can't.  ???

God can come in the likeness of sinful flesh if he wants and of course he has.  :)
