You are not the Scriptures.

ANTICHRIST
Antichrist has many names, or titles, if you will. He is also known as “the little horn”, as “the beast out of the earth”, as “the image of the beast”; he is also called “the false prophet”, and “the imposter”. Paul calls him, “that man of sin”, and “the son of perdition”; and the truth is he is all of them; he is the “pope of Rome”. The first time reference is given to him, is in the book of Daniel.
Dan. 7:8 “I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little
horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots; and behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.”
From the last study, we should understand the meaning of a horn. It stands for power, for a king or ruler. Antichrist was not a real king, but he ruled as one; and he even made himself a crown to emphasize his power to rule. This little horn came up on the head of the Roman beast, showing that he had his beginning during the Roman Empire.
v. 7 “After this I saw in the night vision, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.”
v. 20 “And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout then his fellows.”
v. 21 “I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them.”
This little horn would become the ruler of what used to be the western part of the Roman Empire. He then would begin to persecute the saints, make war with them, and execute all who refused to worship him.
v. 25 “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the
saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws; and they shall be
given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.”
The Emperor Constantine changed some of the laws, as you will read a little further on. Julius Caesar had already changed the time, or calendar, in 45 BC. In 1585 AD Pope Gregory XIII changed it again. The reason: so that all Catholic churches would celebrate the resurrection of Christ, Easter, on the same date.
Although a physician from Naples proposed the new calendar, the pope got the credit for it; it is called, the Gregorian calendar.
Antichrist’s rule over the saints would last three and a half years, or 1,260 days; a year for a day would make his rule last 1,260 years. But his power was to be taken away at the end of his reign by “the king of the north”.
Dan. 11:36 “And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the god of gods, (Ruler of rulers, Antichrist) and shall prosper till the indignation (humiliation) be accomplished: for that that is determent shall be done.” (See Napoleon)
God had determent from the beginning that this little horn would rule for 1,260 years and then would loose his power to rule by being humiliated, exposed as a fraud by Napoleon. We next read about Antichrist in the book of Revelation.
Rev. 13:11 “And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.”
Coming up out of the earth; earth is a metaphor for people, and beast a metaphor for king or ruler. He did not conquer any kingdoms, but he would rule what used to be the western part of the Roman Empire. He tried to appear as Christ the Lamb of God, but what he spoke, his doctrines were devilish; he is thee imposter.
Rev. 13:5 “And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two month.”
Being antichrist does not mean hating Christ; it means coming instead of Christ, claiming to be the representative of Christ. That in itself would not be bad; we are all supposed to imitate Christ. But this imposter tried to appear as Christ representative. Notice the time period; when you convert forty-two month into days, you have 1,260 days = years.
v. 6 “And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blasphemy his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.”
Jesus Christ was the only representative of God.
John 5:43 “I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not; if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.”
When you claim you are here as God’s representative or claim you are the Vicar of the Son of God, you are blaspheming God. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and men.
1 Tim. 2:5 “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
When you persecute and kill his saints, his tabernacle, you are blaspheming God. Jesus never forced any one to believe him and never killed any one for disagreeing with him. Antichrist did both.
Rev. 13: 7 “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.”
By the time he began to rule, his power and prestige, not to mention the superstition of the people, had greatly increased. He was the one that kept the Vandals from killing and burning Rome. He was the one that persuaded Attila the Hun, from invading Rome.
Rev. 13:15 “And he had power to give live unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.”
No one dared to oppose him when he made himself ruler, or oppose his doctrine; anyone who did was tortured and executed. Antichrists have been around since the Apostles. Paul criticized the Galatians,
Gal. 1:6 “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel.”
v. 7 “Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.”
Antichrists are individuals trying to get a following in the name of Christ. They teach according what is appealing to their audience; they will pervert the true gospel to either make it appealing or by scaring the audience.
Thee Antichrist did not leave it up to the people to believe his doctrines or not; when he began to rule, his power extended over all kindred’s, and languages, and nations.
Rev. 13:12 “And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.”
He already had begun to rule like the first beast before him; Rome was the beast before him, but the Emperor was still in command; so he made sure everybody worshiped the first beast. The fact that John mentions the deadly wound was healed tells us that he began to rule sometime after the healing, after 553 AD. Why was that? Paul gives us the reason for his waiting.
2 Thes. 2:7 “For the mystery of iniquity does already work; only he who now letteth (restrains) will let (will restrain), until he (the restrainer) be taken out of the way.”
Someone was holding this beast out of the earth, the image, back. He had grown much since Constantine made Christianity the universal religion in 324 AD. The Church grew in numbers and so did the overseers, the Bishops; they were also called Pope, Father. In 533 AD, the emperor Justinnian decided that only the Bishop of Rome should hold the title “pope-father”, holy was added later.
Let me briefly explain how Christianity became the empires religion. Constantine had to fight many of his own to become sole emperor of the
empire. The most famous battle was against Maxentius, his brother-in-law, in 312 AD. He claimed he had a vision; he saw a red cross in the heavens with the inscription under it “Under this sign conquer”. He then had red crosses painted on the shields of his soldiers and did win the battle. He gave credit for the victory to the God of this new religion “Christianity”. This red cross would become the mark of Rome, the Beast. Even the Crusaders fought under it. In 313 AD, he stopped the persecution and gave Christians the freedom to practice their religion. In 321 AD, he made a new law; worship service was to be held on Sunday and no work on that day. Then in 324 AD, he declared Christianity the universal religion of his empire. This was the beginning of the Roman catholic church. In 325 AD, he, Constantine, presided over the “first Council of Nicea”; over 300 Bishops attended; among other things, it was decided what a Christian was and what he should believe, also that God was a trinity, that the commemoration of Christ’s death no longer be kept, enforced by death, instead the Resurrection be celebrated on Sunday.
You better read that again, and slow this time.
The church too made compromises, one of which is the celebrating of the rebirth of the sun god on Dec.25. It was changed to the birthday of the Son of God and is now known as Christmas. The emperor made many changes in support of the church and even build some Churches and that was not unusual or surprising because he was after all the Pontifex Maximus, “chief religious ruler”. Roman Emperors ruled not only over the State they ruled, over all religions too. And that was what was restraining antichrist, the emperor; as long as there was an emperor around, he, antichrist, the pope, would show his respect and made sure every one else did too.
The year 565 AD marked the end of waiting; Justinian died; he was the last emperor to rule the East and the West because no other Emperor of the East was able to maintain control over the West. Now his reign of terror would begin; the restrainer was taken out of the way.
Rev. 13:13 “And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.”
Lets go through this slowly; first of all, the pope never performed any wonders or miracles except he made people wonder how a man of God could do these horrible things to other people. Second, this fire was not real fire from heaven above; fire is a metaphor for the fiery trials he put the saints through, as Peter explains.
1 Peter 1:7 “That the trails of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.”
The persecution, fiery trials, was ordered from the pope’s heaven, the Vatican, his place of religious authority. Heaven above is God’s place of authority, all authority. On the earth, earth meaning, on all the people that dared to oppose him, in the sight of men, meaning public torture and execution.
Rev. 13:14 “And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword and did live.”
This is were antichrist is referred to as the image of the beast. Rome no longer ruled the west, and antichrist assumed full power and control, not only over all religion, but also over all new kings that would arise out of what used to be the Western Roman Empire. The pope admired the way the Roman emperors had ruled, with a fist of iron and a sword, only he would leave the wielding of the sword to the new kings of Europe.
But he, the pope, became the emperor.
The cardinals became the senators.
The bishops became the governors.
And the priests and monks became the mayors.
Yes, indeed, he became the image of the beast.
Rev. 13:15 “And he had power to give live unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.”
He was the image; he had the power to command, and any one that stood in his way would not except his doctrines would be killed. The numbers estimated of victims killed by antichrist are as high as 50 million; sounds high, does it not? And I suppose there is no way to verify the number, but when you compare the number to Russians dictator Joseph Stalin, who in only a quarter of a century killed over 20 million of his own people, and Adolf Hitler, who in as little as a decade killed 6 million Jews, where antichrists had over twelve centuries to do his killing, then the number doesn’t appear so large anymore. Also, when we consider the number of Saints that gave their lives as a testimony of their faith to God, how many should we think fell away for fear of torture and death? Two, three times as many? Because this is what Paul said; this would be another identifying sign for the antichrist:
2 Thes. 2:3 “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.”
How many of us today could stand the test, and not deny Christ, facing torture and death? Early Catholic church history reveals that some Popes claimed to be equal to God. People infect feared the Pope more then God.
v. 4 “Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God”.
The temple of God are the saints; sitting in the temple is to say, he was in command over them; he set himself up as their god, and any disobedience ended in death.
Rev. 13:16 “And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads.”
Now this is the verse that has people scared half to death, and all because it is so misunderstood. First of all, we have to keep in mind that the scriptures from verses 11 – 18 are all referring to the beast out of the earth, the imposter, the image, in short, antichrist. Then it says, a mark, which is an indication that antichrist has more then one mark by which those that have received it can be identified. What are his marks? They are his doctrines. In your right hand means, you received, accepted his doctrine; in your forehead, yes, you believe his doctrine. And yes, had you lived during his reign, it would not have mattered who or what you were; it was very simple; if you’re not with me, then you’re against me; and that meant death.
Rev. 13:17 “And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”
This is the other scary verse; no man might buy or sell; buy or sell what? Now that we know that these verses are not written for our time, we should also realize that they do not refer to food or any other commodity. What no man could buy or sell was the Word of God. Bibles were hard to come by; and even when they would, you were caught reading or owning a Bible, you would be killed. People were kept in the dark about the word of God; they were easier to control and fooled that way; they were left to their superstition and made to believe that the pope had godlike powers. Only those that had the mark, the cross; monks, priests, bishops and cardinals, always wore a cross and still do; or the name of the beast, Roman catholic, could buy, “read”, or sell, “teach” the word of antichrist. The number 666 is not even a mark; it is the number of his name that identifies him as antichrist.
v. 18 “Here is wisdom. Let him that has understanding count the number of the beast: (the beast out of the earth) for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred threescore and six.”
The number of a man, the number of his name, a name could also be a title. The p
ope has a crown, a triple crown, called the “tiara”. On it is an inscription in Latin: VICARIVS FILII DEI, which means, “vicar of the Son of God”. Some Latin letters also have a numerical value,
V I C A R I V S – F I L I I – D E I
5 1 100 0 0 1 5 0 0 1 50 1 1 500 0 1 = 666
To help identify that man, whose name is that number; is the only significance of that number. Coincident? With God there are no coincidences. Why did Jesus tell us?
John 5:43 “I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive (believe) me not; if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive (believe).”
v. 44 “How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?”
Have we forgotten the warning?
Mat. 24:4 “And Jesus answered and said unto them, take heed that no man deceive you.”
v. 5 “For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.”
How many churches, denominations, do we have today that call themselves Christians? And why are there so many denominations? We only have one Bible; shouldn’t every church be teaching the same? And do they not all confess that Jesus is Christ? Where did all these churches and denominations originate? Until the early 16th century the pope ruled supreme; then in 1517 AD, a German Monk, Martin Luther, spoiled it all for the pope. He dared to oppose the pope by making his 95 disagreements with the Catholic church public, thanks to the printing press, which had been invented a century earlier. It did not take long and others followed, broke away from the Catholic church. Most of the blame goes to the totally corrupt and immoral behavior of the clergy. History recalls this period as the “Great Reformation”. New churches sprang up all over Europe in spite of the persecution. Whatever doctrine these new churches adopted, the basic teaching they held to was from the “Mother church”, the “Roman Catholic church”.
And how did Paul come to the Corinthians?
1 Cor. 2:1 “And I, bretheren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.”
v. 4 “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.”
v. 5 “That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”
What is it that draws people to a particular church? Why do people choose to belong to a Baptist church, or a Methodist, or Lutheran, or any other denomination? I believe the most common answer would be, my parents and grand parents belonged to it. But there are other reasons why people go to a certain church; one is, it’s a beautiful building; another reason is, they have entertainment; and not least of all, they have a powerful and skilled speaker; he really knows how to preach. It is the last reason I gave; we have to be most beware of, as Paul warned us about. Col. 2:8 “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments (principles) of the world, and not after Christ.”
Now let me say something about the mark of the beast, the mark of Rome, the cross. Christians are obvious very fond of the cross. We see it on top of Churches; we have it displayed in Churches, in Hospitals, in our homes, and around our necks. We practically worship the cross. So I want you to consider for just a moment. What if Jesus had been beheaded as John the Baptist? Or if he had been hung as Judas did? What if the Roman soldiers had used him for target practice? What if he had died of one of a dozen other ways? Would our admiration for that object of death be the same? Would we display it the same as the cross? The cross was one of, if not, the cruelest means of death. The victim was nailed to the cross naked, open to shame and ridicule, insults and harassment, unprotected from the weather, unable to defend against insect’s and birds, left hanging there till death which could take as long as a week. Jesus died that same afternoon; he laid down his life for us, and no one took it from him.
John 10:17 “Therefore does my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.”
v. 18 “No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.”
That is also the reason why permission had to be obtained for the release of Jesus from the cross; it was highly unusual for a victim to die so soon.
Luke 23:50 “And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor, and he was a good man, and a just.”
v. 52 “This man went unto Pilate and begged the body of Jesus.”
And even then, a soldier made sure Jesus was dead by piercing him with a lance.
Now, we may think that Paul speaks highly of the cross.
1 Cor. 1:17 “For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel; not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.”
v. 18 “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”
But he is not; it should be obvious that when Paul says, cross of Christ, he means Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. It is after all not the cross that saves us, but Christ’s death on the cross, his sacrifice; and do we think about his sacrifice when we hang a silver-, or gold-, or diamond-studded cross around our neck? It is, like it or not, the mark of the beast. What are some of the marks of the image of the beast, antichrist? That identifies those that have received them, right hand, and believe them, forehead?
The believe in a trinity,
The believe in the equality of the son to the Father,
The believe in man’s immortal soul,
Praying to statues of saints,
The confessing of ones sins to a Priest, a man,
Celebrating of the Mass as a sacrifice for sins,
Paying for indulgencies, etc. etc.
Rev. 14:6 “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people.”
v. 7 “Saying with a loud voice, fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of water.”
v. 8 “And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”
Babylon stands for confusion, false religion. The city that has been representing Babylon is Rome, to be more precise, the Vatican in Rome. She hasn’t fallen yet, but it want be long now. The Roman Catholic church has made all nations drunk with her false doctrines. Believing only one of her doctrines makes you a receiver of her mark. God is saying, there is still time to come out of her system.
v. 9 “And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, if any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand.”
v. 10 “The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.”
This is God’s last warning to stop worshiping the beast and his image. This, and the previous study thoroughly explain who they are. This judgment will be on the entire world and will bring about the end of this era. Jesus Christ, his angels, and the resurrected saints will be witnessing God’s judgment on the world. Fire and brimstone only emphasize the severity of God’s judgment.
v. 11 “And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and t
hey have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”
Just as the smoke of the prayers of the saints ascended up before God,
Rev. 8:4 “And the smoke of the incense, which came up with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.”
So will the cries of those that did not heed his warning. For ever and ever, as long as God’s punishment will last. The mark of his name? The name is Rome; the mark of Rome is the cross.
Rev. 14:12 “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”
What is the patience of the saints?
To know the word of God and wait patiently, trusting him to carry it out. Jesus had faith in his Father that after he died he would be resurrected.
v. 14 “And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.”
v. 15 “And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, thrust in thy sickle, and reap; for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.”
Jesus had told us, the harvesting of the world would come at the end of the world.
Matt. 13:38 “The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one.”
v. 39 “The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.”
v. 40 “As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.”
v. 41 “The son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and they which do iniquity.”
v. 42 “And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
There are several things we have pay attention to what these scriptures are saying. Jesus is speaking of the end of this age, not far from now. God’s wrath will be on the entire world. He will gather the tares, those who do iniquity, and cast them into a furnace of fire; this is not the lake of fire; this is not God’s final judgment. He will punish all that have ignored his Word; there will be much suffering, wailing, and gnashing of teeth; the smoke of their torment shall ascent up before God, who will turn away. He had allowed both, the wheat and the tares, to grow until harvesting.
v. 30 “Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, gather ye together first the tares, and bind them to bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.”
This is what we read in,
Rev. 14:17 “And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.”
v. 18 “And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.”
v. 19 “And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.”
The great winepress is synonymous with, a furnace of fire.
v. 20 “And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horses bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.”
“Without the city”, this city are God’s holy saints; they are protected from the wrath of God. The “winepress” and the “river of 200 miles of blood” are symbolic in a way. We assume it is a river because it is 200 miles long, and four and a half feet deep; it doesn’t say how wide; if it was only 100 feet wide, it would require the blood of the entire world population to fill it; and that is precisely the point being made here.
Noah was told to build an Ark, and it saved him and his family; what God is asking us today don’t come close to the time and labor involved of building an Ark.
Our tradition can be our worst enemy; it’s like quicksand, hard to get out off, even when shown the truth. Jesus referred to it as new wine.
Luke 5:37 “And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.”
v. 38 “But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.”
v. 39 “No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new; for he saith, the old is better.”
I know first hand change doesn’t come easy, and it doesn’t come quick; but I have also learned, God is a patient God; he works the miracles; he expects no miracles from us. We are living in the most serious of generation. Remember the Fig Tree?
Mat. 24:32 “Now learn a parable of the fig tree, when his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh.”
This fig tree is Israel; it put forth leaves in 1948 when Israel became a Nation again.
v. 33 “So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the door.”
v. 34 “Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.”
We are seeing all these things, and more. The bible tells us what a generation is.
Ps. 90:10 “The days of our years are threescore years and ten (70 years); and if by reason of stength (health) they be fourscore years (80 years), yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.”
In other words, a generation is 70 years; 1948 plus 70 years, you do the math. Do we hear God’s call, “Come out of her my people”? Do we even understand what God is calling us to come out of? Do we understand, any church, which teaches any doctrine that antichrist is teaching, has received a mark?
Rev. 18:4 “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”
“Her”, is the woman sitting on the scarlet colored beast, (Rev. 17:3), she represents all false religion. It is not what we call ourselves that matters; it is what God calls us “my people” that matters. We are only his people if we believe him. To be spared from “her plagues” you have to know the doctrines of God. God has punished his chosen people, the Israelites, very severely for their idolatry and disobedience.
Hos. 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou has rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee…”
A lack of knowledge or lack of understanding of the Word of God shows a lack of interest in the Word of God and God himself. We put to much trust in others; read what God says in;
Eze. 14:13 “Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it.”
v. 14 “Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord God.”
v. 15 “If I cause noisome beasts (enemy nations) to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts.”
v. 16 “Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord God, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate.”
v. 17 “Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it.”
v. 18 “Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord God, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; but they only shall be delivered themselves.”
v. 19 “Or if I send a pestilence into that land,
and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast.”
v. 20 “Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord God, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.”
Not even these holy men could deliver us; it is really very plain; if you ignore his warning now, he will ignore your cry later.
Jer. 11:11 “Therefore thus saith the LORD, behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.”
It doesn’t matter who teaches us; it is our responsibility to prove all things; ignorance will not save us, and neither will blaming others.Georg

It looks to me as so you were replying to Gene, were you?
Paul did say in Rom. 5:12-14, sin was in the world, but no law was broken. The law was first given to Moses. I can't say I disagree with what Paul told the Galaitions.Georg
December 14, 2008 at 7:13 pm#114082meerkatParticipantThanks Georg,
I have skimmed your post and agree with a lot that I saw – I have been reading and do have very real concerns for christians who seem to be blindly waiting for a “rapture” to save them from wrath that is coming against all of the ignorant evil heathens, when I agree with you it seems to me that Jesus in Revelation is saying that his people are to come out of “Babylon” which is apostate christianity because judgement is coming against the whole apostate system of religion that do not keep the commandments of God.
Where you say
Quote It is, like it or not, the mark of the beast. What are some of the marks of the image of the beast, antichrist? That identifies those that have received them, right hand, and believe them, forehead?
The believe in a trinity,
The believe in the equality of the son to the Father,
The believe in man’s immortal soul,
Praying to statues of saints,
The confessing of ones sins to a Priest, a man,
Celebrating of the Mass as a sacrifice for sins,
Paying for indulgencies, etc. etc.I agree with you what the mark of the beast is and wondering if it is more what you think/believe (forehead) and what you do (hand) – so if you actually believe them or is you perform them (rituals) while not totally believing them is still counted as the same thing.
Have you looked at what the doctrines of babylon were?
More to add – no time at the moment.
December 14, 2008 at 11:04 pm#114113meerkatParticipantGeorg,
A thought I had while discussing in another thread with Nick:-
Quote To be baptised you need to go to a institutional church to receive that rite and you need to imbibe their doctrine to be made ready to received the rite – the mark of the beast where no can buy or sell unless has the mark – beliefs (forehead) rituals (hands)?? The institutional church likes to impose certain rituals and beliefs whether they be many or few (some may only be Sunday church), and if you are not compliant you are ostracised and not allowed to “buy” or “sell” spiritually (not physically)

You do a lot of explaining, but you show no scriptures to back it up.
Did I say not to keep the commandments?
Show me exactly in my post that you disagree with, and prove it with scripture if I'm wrong.Georg
Georg…..Here is a start point, but you will need a Greek translation to Help because the Kings James has it wrong, Go to Galatians or Romans and find almost any place where he is talking about (the)Law , you will fine the word (the) a definite article, was added. Now how does that change the meaning , because if we say (the Law) we are talking about a particular Law, ie (ten commandments), but if i say Law without the definite articles then i am talking about Law in a general sense.Like law is good for us, what then is law , what does it do and its purpose > Law is a process know as (forced compliance) we obey speed laws because the police enforces it, and we could get a ticket, and it works through the medium of FEAR, take away the enforcement , fear leaves and law becomes useless. So law can not be law without enforcement.
The ten commandments were turned into Law, forced compliance, that why Paul said by works of the Law, (the way law works) by forced compliance through the medium of fear, No one can be Justified before God, why? because the person is obeying out of FEAR, So GOD”S not going to accept that form of compliance. Because there is (NO) change Of Heart there.
Just forced compliance through the medium of FEAR. The ten commandments of GOD were (TURNED) into LAW, through the medium of fear. EX 19:20 ” For GOD has done this that the (FEAR) of HIM should be before you face so that you sin NOT, Law, doing what it was designed to do, force People to comply, but it never in a million years could make a person right inside.
Georg…..i hope this helped brother …….love to you and yours………….gene.

Every son of God should be prepared at any time to obey their master in this regard.

Hi bro Georg,
No, it was meant for your post only. Infact I was talking some thing on the observation of Sabbath. I agree with your views on this. Thanks and peace to you
AdamDecember 15, 2008 at 10:27 am#114208TiffanyParticipantGene
The way I understand it is the way I expressed it. Moses were given two tables, on it were all the different laws you read about in Leviticus, including the ten commandments we usually refer to when we speak of the ten commandment. The entire package, both tables; not just one or just one side of it, are the covenant God made with Israel; if you do all these things and obey them.
When Jesus introduced the NEW COVENANT, that did away with the OLD, all of it , not just part of it. As Paul explained, just because we are no longer under the law (old covenant), are we now free to sin? God forbid, he said. You can not be under two covenants, or parts of it.
To me not having to “keep” the Sabbath has not freed me from it, on the contrary, it has added six more days to it.Georg

December 15, 2008 at 5:27 pm#114230GeneBalthropParticipantGeorg…..The (whole law) is summed up in (ONE WORD) you shall LOVE your neighbor as your self. and Again the Gentiles who have (NOT) the Law but do the things contained in them show (the Law) ,definite article included, meaning the ten commandments, written on the Heart by the HAND of GOD> Don't think i am against the commandments of God I am not, its all a matter of HOW THEY ARE KEPT, not a matter of should we keep them. Look up in a Greek lexicon what i explained and it will become apparent what i getting at. The word Law by itself means (forced compliance) Those who are (UNDER) this force can never please GOD because, FEAR is the medium Law works by. And that medium if for the ungodly, and sinners as scripture says.
And as regarding the Sabbath………you can keep the Sabbath by ceasing from you works from Friday night sundown to Saturday night sundown all you want it will not do you an once of good. The true Sabbath is eternal every day not one day a week. WE need to see things Scripturally not Physically. All the Law must be seen through Spiritual eyes, not physical one. Its a matter of the Heart, what in a person put there by the LOVE OF GOD SHED AROUND IN THE HEART. Just as it says.
love and peace to you and yours……………….gene

I'm not sure but I think you could have said all of that by just saying; I agree!
