1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.
Corruption does not inherit incorruption? Wait a minute, Paul just said,
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption.
In the resurrection the BODY is raised incorruptible, however it is NOT the corruption of a person that leads them into inheriting incorruption. The corruptible body needed the Spirit of God. Just like corruption does not bring man into inheriting incorruption neither can our flesh and blood LEAD us into the Kingdom of God, we need the Spirit of God working in our flesh and blood to lead us into the Kingdom.
John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
Romans 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.
We cannot find within ourselves, within our flesh and blood bodies, a means to make us righteous and receive immortality. The Spirit of God must be worked in us renewing our minds making them not of a natural mind of men but of a spiritual mind of God.
1 Corinthians 15:41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. 43 It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual. 47 The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven. 48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. 49 And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man. 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.
Matthew 16:17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
How would flesh and blood reveal anything? Flesh and blood represents the man thinking through a natural mind. 1 Corinthians 15:50 has nothing to do with what type of bodies we will have in the resurrection, or rather what type of bodies we cannot have. We were just specifically told what type of bodies we would inherit, incorruptible bodies, and Jesus Christ was RAISED as was promised without his flesh seeing corruption. Jesus we are directly told was raised with flesh and bones. 1 Corinthians 15:50 is telling us what Paul had already explained before in the following-
1 Corinthians 2:10 but to us did God reveal them through His Spirit, for the Spirit all things doth search, even the depths of God, 11 for who of men hath known the things of the man, except the spirit of the man that is in him? so also the things of God no one hath known, except the Spirit of God. 12 And we the spirit of the world did not receive, but the Spirit that is of God, that we may know the things conferred by God on us, 13 which things also we speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Holy Spirit, with spiritual things spiritual things comparing, 14 and the natural man doth not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for to him they are foolishness, and he is not able to know them, because spiritually they are discerned;
Romans 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.
The Natural Man, the man of carnal mind, the man who thinks according to flesh and blood, CANNOT INHERIT the Kingdom of God, it is the Spirit that gives life, the flesh profits us nothing. We must be born of the Spirit and be renewed in our minds.
To not be IN the flesh represents that you are not thinking in the flesh, but you are thinking according to the Spirit of God because the Spirit of God is in your flesh causing you to not think with a fleshly mind.
No matter what we will always be created creatures given a body as God desires. But we cannot think like a created creature and inherit eternal life, we must become like minded with God and think with a righteous heart full of God's wisdom and truth.
Ephesians 4:20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

What is sown in the earth is corruptible flesh .
What is raised is an incorruptible body. The powerful word is given to transform our minds unto godly thinking by the help of the Spirit.
March 12, 2010 at 9:25 pm#183141Jodi LeeParticipantHi Nick,
Luke 24:39 see my hands and my feet, that I am he; handle me and see, because a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me having.'
Acts 2:29 `Men, brethren! it is permitted to speak with freedom unto you concerning the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is among us unto this day; 30 a prophet, therefore, being, and knowing that with an oath God did swear to him, out of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, to raise up the Christ, to sit upon his throne, 31 having foreseen, he did speak concerning the rising again of the Christ, that his soul was not left to hades, nor did his flesh see corruption.
The flesh of Jesus never saw corruption, meaning his body was not aloud to decompose while he was dead. Jesus was resurrected with the same flesh only it was rejuvenated with the life of the Holy Spirit, no longer able to deteriorate, contract disease, or grow old. Adam was born with this flesh, but when he sinned it was changed into corruptible flesh.
ACCORDING TO THE FLESH Christ sits as an Eternal King on David's Throne!!
March 12, 2010 at 11:19 pm#183150NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
He was raised up in the tent he was born into.
He had to be to fulfill scripture that his flesh would not corrupt[Acts2.31]He was taken up out of our sight
Flesh cannot inherit the kingdom so my view is that in the same way as when we are raised up from the earth and transformed with a new body the same would have happened with him.
Scripture says we will be like to him.March 13, 2010 at 12:54 am#183159Jodi LeeParticipantNick, so your going to go by what you think that has absolutely NO scriptural proof?
John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
Nick is this a true statement or not?, Our flesh and blood profits us nothing, it cannot bring us into the Kingdom of God, man needs God's Spirit working in him in order to receive it?
Is this true or not?
30 a prophet, therefore, being, and knowing that with an oath God did swear to him, out of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, to raise up the Christ, to sit upon his throne, 31 having foreseen, he did speak concerning the rising again of the Christ, that his soul was not left to hades, nor did his flesh see corruption.
and Nick what do you do with this?
Romans 6:5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,
is there some other resurrection you would like to tell us about coming out of your own mind that you seem to give more weight to then the actual scriptures?
1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
our mortal bodies OF flesh become immortal bodies of flesh.
1 Corintians 15:38 But God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body. 39 All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds. 40 There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption.
The BODY IS a body OF FLESH. Flesh is sown in corruption and the FLESH is raised in incorruption. Jesus flesh never saw corruption and it was changed into incorruptible flesh to fulfill the promise of ETERNALLY being a King IN THE FLESH sitting on David's throne.
Our hope is in the LIKENESS of Christ's resurrection when he received incorruptible flesh, not in when he changed into some other creature.
Nick are you trying to tell us that Christ after he received his incorruptible flesh, HE DIED and was raised AGAIN into some other creature, and our hope is THAT resurrection?
March 13, 2010 at 1:52 am#183167NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
Flesh is just a tent that Paul could not wait to be free of.
It is of the dust of planet earth and returns to that earthly soil.
Remember man that thou art dust and unto dust thou shalt return. There is no sustenance demanding flesh in heaven where spirit beings dwell is there?
March 13, 2010 at 1:56 am#183169NickHassanParticipanthi Jodi,
we will be like to the man from heaven when he returns to reign for 1000 years on the throne of David.
You you think he will be in his old tattered and torn flesh and we will be just as shabby for 1000 years?
Scripture says we do not know what we will be like but the new heavenly body will be imperishable.March 13, 2010 at 3:29 am#183183ElizabethParticipant1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.
The kingdom “OF” God, it is God's kingdom, a spiritual kingdom, in which Jesus is King; all those that will rule with him, kings and priests, will be spirit beings.
No ordinary human will be in it, they will be living on this earth which Jesus will restore to paradise again.Georg

March 13, 2010 at 5:01 am#183191Jodi LeeParticipantWhere have I put forth that I trust in man?
I have said nothing but the opposite, it is in the Spirit of God who my whole heart trusts in.
The problem for Adam and Eve was not their fleshly bodies, it was their ignorant minds.
We are told that our minds need to be renewed, and this is done through the calling of God's Spirit that does a work in our minds to prove that we need God's complete guidance for truth and to be righteous. God's Spirit is a cleansing fire over our minds.
Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
God works perfection into the mind of the created man. We saw Him do this in the the flesh of Jesus, and Jesus received that which Adam and Eve had LOST.
Our bodies are an awesome creation of YHWH, He wants to take back that corruption and return it to it's ORIGINAL STATE of incorruption that Adam and Eve once had in the beginning. They smelled the flowers, tasted the fruit, felt the flowing waters, looked at the extreme beauty God created in the earth and up in the heavens, and they listened to the music of the wind, being able to enjoy it without FEAR, WORRY, or SUFFERING, all due to the UNIQUE and Magnificent design of INCORRUPTIBLE human flesh.

That seems to contradict the teaching of Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:42 which clearly states that during the resurrection of the dead the body is sown corruptible and raised incorruptible. The transformation from the corruptible to the incorruptible obviously happens before the person is resurrected from the dead but after they are dead. In Jesus’ case the change happened before his corruptible body saw decay but after it perished.

1Co 15:37 When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else.

When I sow an oak tree it is an oak tree though in embryotic form. When it is raised it is more mature. A fertilized egg of a human is still a human being even though it has not yet reached maturity. Instead each will change as time goes on. In the same way the corruptable flesh changes into incorruptable flesh. It is not just the flesh that God buries but corruptable flesh which if not changed will rot into the earth it was born from while incoruptable flesh will not rot and cannot die.It is through one act of sin that mankind's flesh was altered from the incorruptable to the corruptable and it is by one act of righteousness that it will be changed from the corruptable to the incorruptable.
That is for the glory of God.

While I laid their a scripture came to me from God that may help you understand the point he has made so clear to me.
1 Corinthians 15:39(NIV) reads:
Quote All flesh is not the same: Men have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another.
The flesh that is sown in the ground is not the same flesh that is raise. Just as their is an old earth and a new earth I believe there is also old flesh and new flesh as the old was made corrupt by Adam's sin and the new was made incorruptible by Jesus' act of righteousness.

Kerwin………you have it exactly right. We will all recieve new (BODIES) of Flesh and bone exactly like Jesus Has. And with HOLY SPIRIT in it, it will not ever corrupt but will have life giving spirit in it and can live for ever. This corruptible body must be changed unto incorruptible. KWwhat Paul really says is not that flesh will be in heaven, what he says is that there are many flesh around and that they are different from each other, and like in plants the seed as to die to become something totally different of that seed like form,
and so it is for men ,men here is represented by the seed ,it only can recieve the changes unless he died (died in Christ that is).It is imposible for men to die for men because we all are born of sin,so Jesus was not born of men ,only trough a women ,his seed is from above.Isa 51:5 My righteousness draws near speedily,

Nick……….Your lack of understanding is again apparent. While it does say flesh and blood can not go into the kingdom of God. That does not mean the Kingdom of GOD can not go into the Flesh bodies we have which composes our Souls. For the kingdom of GOD comes through the Spirit of God, into us , the us can include a flesh body. So while it is true flesh and blood can not enter into the kingdom of God, because that would be impossible, the Kingdom of GOD can inter into these bodies of Flesh and blood. At the return of Jesus those who are alive will have their bodies instantly regenerated by God as he did Jesus' body..

44 It (the body) is sown a natural (BODY) It (the body) is raised a spiritual (BODY); There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual (BODY)>Nick, your problem is you still thinking a SPIRIT is a BODY or a Person, a Soul. It takes BOTH A BODY and SPIRIT to equal a SOUL. We are not going to be a spirit being without a body, only GOD the Father is that and no one else is. IMO
