Why is God’s way the narrow way?

Question: Why is God’s way the narrow way?
Answer: Because there is only one truth. While lies are plenty, there can only be one truth.

e.g.,

  • 1+1 = 2. (Narrow path)
  • 1+1=3 (Wide path)
  • 1+1=4 (Wide path)
  • 1+1=5 (Wide path)
  • and so on…

This is a simplistic answer of course. A car for example could be both red and blue meaning that two things are true, however it is still a singular truth when you express the whole truth that it is both red and blue. Green, yellow, and all the other colours are wrong in this example. The point being, there is practically an infinite amount of wrong answers and a narrow set of correct answers in comparison.

The narrow path is not narrow to limit the amount of people that travel it, it is just that it’s the true path that leads to life. There are many ways you can travel down the wide path to destruction, but the true path is singular and perfect.

    Yes Kerwin we should try hard to enter the narrow way. We should seek the truth with all our heart. We should love God first and mankind as we love ourselves.

    There are perhaps an infinite amount of ways we can err. We need to be always mindful because we can easily slip and fall.

    And there are no family group passes or any denominational access.

    You can bring nothing that contributes to your salvation.

    No works but only repentance and emptiness.

    Agreed. If a man rejects God, then he rejects love, life, and truth. God does not force anyone to live eternally with him if they have rejected him. He is not willing that any should perish, but he cannot make us love him. So our will can override his. We can perish even though he is not willing that we should perish.

    Jesus was talking about the difficulty of walking the true path. It is easy for men to start in faith and then fall away. However, he also basically said  while it surpasses human power, it doesn’t surpass divine power. Further, we know from elsewhere in scripture that if we sow in the flesh we reap destruction and if we sow in the spirit we reap life eternal. There is nothing puzzling about his words that we have not already heard from Paul and other apostles.

    Jesus spoke twice about a narrow gate and once about a narrow way[Mt7, lk 13]

    But walking in the Spirit is a lifelong task.

    The way of Jesus is to submit to God and repent, be cleansed and filled with the Spirit, appointed unto service to Jesus Christ and His Father.

    “..the one who says he abides in him ought himself to walk in the same manner as he walked”

    Coll 2.6

    “therefore as you have received Jesus Christ the Lord, so walk in him..”

    Gal5.16-25

    ” but I say walk by the Spirit….let us also walk by the Spirit”

    Eph 5.2

    “..walk in love..”

    Here are the facts

    The narrow way = 1 single religion claiming to be Christian has Jesus and Gods truth.= Few will find the road that leads off into life.

    The other 99% claiming to be Christian are the broad and spacious path that many have entered that leads to destruction.

    Its actually pretty simple to see who is who.

    There is the way, the truth, and the life.

    The head of the body is Jesus Christ.

    The body is simply those that belong to him – Jesus Christ.

    NO DENOMINATION is actually the Body of Christ.

    The Body of Christ is made up of living stones, those who are part of the Church who by extension of that have the Spirit within them.

    NO DENOMINATION IS THE CHURCH.

    Yes, some who belong to denominations can belong to the Body of Christ.

    It is Jesus Christ who builds his Church.

    Denominations are cults built by men.

    You are in error. God had a religion in the OT, God has a religion now. Jesus speaks to 7 congregations in revelation= all the same 1 religion. Paul went around setting up congregations of Jesus’ new religion. One must be taught Gods truth by these-Matt 24:45 or they are in darkness.

    To the Church in Thyatira is not a denomination, but simply a description for the one Church / Body that is located in that physical location. This is purely geographical because Believers close to each other are in fellowship by reason of their close proximity to each other. The Church can be inside a house, city, country, etc. If I said the Church of New York, then I would be talking about the body of Christ located in New York. Simple.

    “greet the church that is in Priscilla and Aquila’s house”.

    Give my greetings to the brothers at Laodicea, and to Nympha and the Church in her house.

    Further, it was Jesus who built his Church and yet, there are more than 10,000 denominations built by men. The true Church (body) started about 2000 years ago.

    “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it”.

    Finally, the Church is the Body of Christ and there is one body.

    19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, 
    20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 
    21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 
    22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

    4 There is one body and one Spirit– just as you were called to one hope when you were called– 
    5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 
    6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. 

    And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

    I leave you with this truth:

    Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it.

    Conclusion:

    People who promote denominations are promoting the works of men.

    The Greek word actually translates-congregation not Church in Revelation. So you are right on that matter. But its fact God had 1 religion in OT that he was with. They gathered together in synagogues( congregation) The same in NT 1 single religion that has Jesus out of the hundreds that claim to belong to him. The ones taking the lead in that 1 religion are these-Matt 24:45, appointed by Jesus over his domestics. one must be taught by them or remain in darkness on the broad and spacious path. Those did not learn in colleges of men but are lead by holy spirit guiding them into truth. They do study old writings religious history, etc. But mainly Gods written word. All the other religions claiming to be Christian have corrupted translations that mislead so they remain in darkness.
