Sumer is one of the first civilizations in the world existing alongside Ancient Egypt and the Indus Valley. Located in Mesopotamia (between the rivers) it was bordered by the mighty Tigris and Euphrates rivers. Cities here included Uruk the world's largest city at the time and the city of Ur, the birthplace of Abraham.
