Donald Trump talks about God

Donald Trump

“No one has ever seen God, but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.”
In his address to the Values Voters Summit, Donald J. Trump shared 1 John 4:12.

As believers we should pray for Trump. See 1 Timothy 2

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

We hear you Terr. You say the prophecy is false and the man a false prophet. You can have that opinion as it is your life. No one can take your opinion off you. We each choose and we each are responsible for what we believe and say. There is nothing else for you to say on this subject as you have made up your own mind even without any evidence except your opinion that this is common sense to not believe. I am entitled to think you are being foolish too, because before I condemn, I like to see real evidence. You have concluded this thread for yourself, so please move on now if you can. I don’t think it is constructive for you to argue against this with no evidence for the rest of your life. Life is too short and important to waste our time.

To sum up this video, it is a story showing the defeat of arrogance.

According to a person who was in the same line as the woman on the right of the panel (left in the preview image), she lied. It wasn’t two white guys, it was an Asian woman. Of course cannot verify this. Could be another lie for all we know.

but you haven’t proved that it is true ,and I showed scriptures reasoning but yes we all have to stand with what we understand from scriptures or on our own ,

so I close this for me

I cannot prove it 100% true even to myself because God has not personally revealed it to me. I can only go by the fact that there is 1 prophecy given in 2011 that was extremely unlikely to come to pass. And then to see even right up to election day, no one giving Trump a chance of winning. And before that, Trump getting smeared and hammered by the media and spoken of badly in public by many, yet gaining in popularity. Then he not only wins the electoral vote, but overwhelmingly so. It would be akin to me saying that Leonardo DiCaprio will be president one day and saying God showed me. Seriously that would be like a 1 in a million shot. But hey, even that happens sometimes.

I wouldn’t be so arrogant to say that even given the odds of Trump becoming president of the USA, that the prophecy must be 100% of God based on that. But saying 100% that it isn’t of God is much worse because there is a prophecy that against all odds came to pass. I wouldn’t risk insulting God and calling something he said as being of the Devil and a lie. No, I wouldn’t take that chance because God must be respected and even angels would fear to tread that path.

Such punishment is specially reserved for those who indulge the corrupt desires of the flesh and despise authority. Bold and self-willed, these men are unafraid to slander angelic majesties. Yet not even angels, though greater in strength and power, dare to bring such slanderous charges against them before the Lord.…

Knowing this, compare insulting angelic majesties to insulting God and saying what he said is a lie. You know that we all need a measure of the fear of God.

I am not arrogant for telling the truth ,I told you why this prophecy is not of God ,but you seem to pay more attention to men than to God’s word ,

was Jesus arrogant to the pharisees by telling them that they were hypocrites ? (and much more) they thought so .

I do not practice wishful thinking ,

    God’s word answer all questions

     ====================================================================
I do fear God with all my soul ,just the thought of not be able to tell the truth chills me ,for if I lie I would have supported the devil ,
but if I fear to say the truth of the word of God then what ? do i not then fear men more than I fear God ? I think so ,
does any men as the power to shut the light of God ?
that scripture you quote to me is totally inappropriate for I do not follow the flesh but the spirit of God’s word ,you seem to quickly forget the word of God in favor of a man claim ,that comes with another “gospel”
if any man claims to come from God ;let him prove it ;and also answer all the questions like ;why, where, when, what, who, how, “TEST ALL SPIRITS” says scriptures,
a lottery as all the odds to lose yet one wins the jackpot the winner always says it is God will but is it ?

    Hi T8:

    You say:

Chosen means that God called him to run for this position to give God’s people in America the choice of a leader who they could vote for

Did he say that God called him, chosen him, to run for president?

Yes, as you say to me, you are entitled to your opinion. I have given you my opinion. Only God knows for sure.

Of course, I will pray for him. That is what the scriptures say that I should do.

    Love in Christ,
    Marty

You have provided no evidence, only an opinion. Opinions mean little to me, they are a dime a dozen. Everyone has an opinion. Scripture will sway me. Show me where God stopped calling certain men to positions of authority. Show me why Paul is wrong for asking us to pray for those in authority, kings, and other leaders so that we may live in peace. Till then, you can spout off opinions all you like, but you will only sway shallow minded men.

He hasn’t said any such thing on that matter and probably not wise to if he believes this.

Regardless, God does appoint leaders whether they acknowledge him or not. Some of them like King Saul acknowledged God, but largely failed. God of course doesn’t over ride the will of a man.

    Daniel  2: 20-22
“And he changeth the times and the seasons; He removeth
kings, and setteth up kings; he giveth wisdom unto the wise,
and knowledge to them that know understanding…

    Daniel 2: 37
“Thou, O king, art a king of kings, for the God of heaven
hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, glory.”

    Daniel 4: 13-17
“13 I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold,
a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven. 14 He cried
aloud, and said thus….. 17 This matter is by the decree of the
watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the
intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in
the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and
setteth up over it the basest of men.”

    Daniel 4: 25-26
“25 That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling
shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee
to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of
heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know
that the Most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and
giveth it to whomsoever He will. 26 And whereas they
commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom
shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known
    that the heavens do rule.”

    Daniel 4: 31-32
“31 While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice
from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is
spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee. 32 And they shall
drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts
of the field; they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven
times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the Most High
ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He
    will.

    Daniel 5: 21
“And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was
    made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses;
they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the
dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the
kingdom of men, and that He appointeth over it whomsoever he will.”

Some people like Terr believe that this was largely true in the past but not now. But Jesus did say this in  John 19:10-11:

“Then saith Pilate unto him: Speakest thou not unto me?
Knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have
power to release thee? Jesus answered:Thou couldest have
no power at all against me, except it were given thee from
above. Therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the
    greater sin.”

Paul seems to agree too in Romans 13: 1-6:
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For
there is no power but of God. The powers that be are
ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power,
resisteth the ordinance of God; and they that resist shall
receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror
to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of
the power? Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise
of the same. For he is the minister of God to thee for good.
But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth
not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger
to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must
need be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
For this cause pay ye tribute also, for they are God’s ministers,
attending continually upon this very thing.”

Surely arguing against this idea is like arguing against the scriptures. Usually three witnesses is enough. I have given you much more.

please apply those verses to those rulers ?

the only thing you will have to agree with is that a true christian believer will stay out of the world affairs and run when his life becomes in danger and always keep hopping in God and his son

    Hi T8:

Regardless, God does appoint leaders whether they acknowledge him or not.

When God appointed a leader, He did not rely on the people to vote him in as was done in our democracy.

In he NT, he gave Jesus all power of heaven and earth, and he has said that he appoints leaders in the church.  He does not say that he appoints the leaders of the nations.   He does say that he will show us things to come.

Hi guys, I found the following video on youtube, and it relates to this topic.
The speaker, however, is a SDA, and believes in a Saturday only sabbath:

Of course we should have at the time they were in authority. Prayer changes things. It is a petition to God about something specific. It doesn’t mean that you pray that Hitler would prosper, but the opposite. Would have thought that was obvious.

Pray that Trump would be open to God and let God’s people live in peace so they can share the Kingdom.

This doesn’t relate to the topic. If we are told to pray for people, does that somehow negate preaching the gospel? No, do not be foolish. You can do both. You can walk and chew gum at the same time right?

I disagree with you on this for there is another way to interpreting Paul words ,and not being in conflict with Jesus NOT PRAYING FOR THE WORLD

now you analogy of walk and chewing at the same time is as good as living both a sinning and righteous life or supporting sinful men and righteous man as well, how confused can some one be ?

it is nice to stick to a topic but as I say we will never come to the real truth of the matter for truth cannot be encapsulated into a few words without add questions

You are being silly. Paul tells us the reason to pray for kings and those in authority. It is not to save the world as such, but that God’s people can live in peace and I suppose to freely teach and preach the truth.

Jesus did not come here to save this world system, rather to save the people in it. Paul is not telling you to pray that this world will become like Heaven, no. He is saying to pray that we may be able to live in peace and by extension of that, probably to make it easy to bring the kingdom.

The kingdom of God is the priority. Praying for those in power still pleases God.

Do you want to please God? You are not pleasing him with your stance here because you read something elsewhere and think it negates this. Your view of the Bible seems full of contradictions, so you are forced to choose one thing over another. But that is your lack of understanding. You can please God by praying for those in authority, and you can also pray that those who are of the world can enter the Kingdom of God by being converted. No contradiction. But if you continue to see contradiction, then you will have to displease God one way or another. That is your choice. But don’t shoot the messenger as they say Terr. I am only helping you here. If you cannot see it now, then you will one day hopefully.

I will ask you one question ;do we have to understand Jesus through Paul letters or do we have to understand Paul’s letters through Jesus words has he lived ?
