@NickHassan
Both times would be true of a definition of the term ‘godhead’ that means-the authority that has dominion over all created things.Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 5 months ago
@NickHassan
The definition that I gave is suitable to its use. Jesus has full authority in heaven and on earth over all created things. So does the Father.Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 5 months ago
@NickHassan
Please follow along…only two called god are acknowledged to have dominion forever by every created thing. Can you name them?Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 5 months ago
@t8
@NickHassan
So we have the facts that we agree on:
The Father and the Son are two persons who are referred to as theos somewhere in scriptures and those two persons are both given, by every created thing, the honor of having the blessing, and the honour, and the glory, and the dominion, for ever and ever.That represents a godhead, my…[Read more]

you saidLI already bow to him.
He is my Lord.
But his God is my God.
That is good that you bow to two who are identified as a theos in scripture, Nick.

you said:Since you have appointed him a god then perhaps you and other religious folk who do not know his God, the Father.
Were you done with your thought? Or were you just getting started? Did you want to complete your statement?
Are you a created being and ultimately will you be among those who are bowing down to the one on the…[Read more]

Just answer the question. I didn’t ask who He is not a god of.
You also admit that Jesus is a god. Who do you believe He is a god of?Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 5 months ago

LU, we must believe in the one true God and his son.
Very good, that would make a theos who is the Father and a theos who is the Son. That makes two theos whom we must believe in and follow for salvation.
you did not answer this:
How many persons who are called theos somewhere in scripture must you believe in and…

@terricca
How many persons who are called theos somewhere in scripture must you believe in and follow to have everlasting life?
All three of you, please answer this fundamental question. Thank you guys!

@NickHassan
you said:Yes the Word.
The Word that was with God and was God.
Did you think it meant the man from Nazareth before he was anointed?
That was in response to my question here:
Do you believe that there is a theos in scripture that is the Lord Jesus Christ?
So if Jesus is God and the Father is God, how many theos are there that we…[Read more]

you asked:
Would you like me to show you all the times THEOS is used in scripture and for how many different things?
No need to show me all the times it is used in scripture and how, Nick. I just want you to tell me if it is used for the Son who is called our one Lord Jesus Christ and for God the Father. That will be sufficient for…[Read more]

Just answer the question Nick. I don’t believe theory is a part of it. The Hot Seat is waiting for you if you can’t answer it here then you can show us all that you do or do not have an answer for the question there. It is really a simple yes or no question.
Also, you asked if I was a god…how silly…no, of course not.
Here is the…[Read more]

Ok, I will help you. ‘Theos’ is Greek for ‘God/a god’. Now just substitute the English translation for the word ‘theos’ in this question:
Do you believe that there is a theos in scripture that is God the Father? Do you believe that there is a theos in scripture that is the Lord Jesus Christ?2 Timothy 2:15
Be diligent to present…[Read more]

God in God?Answer my questions correctly and you will know:
Do you believe that there is a theos in scripture that is God the Father? Do you believe that there is a theos in scripture that is the Lord Jesus Christ?
I appreciate ya, Nick!

It seems clear that there is one theos in scripture who is God the Father and another theos in scripture who is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Do you believe that there is a theos in scripture that is God the Father? Do you believe that there is a theos in scripture that is the Lord Jesus…[Read more]

Yes Nick, God the Son is in scripture:
John 1:18
No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

God the Son is the eternal offspring part of God the Father. Jesus is clearly called a theos in scripture, so is the Father. Being an eternal offspring ‘part’ of the Father would naturally make Him the same kind, hence two of the same eternal kind. In the position of ‘God’ to us there is the Father and the Son. They are eternal…[Read more]

You said:
Sonship is by sharing the Spirit of the Father.
Have you become His daughter too?
Yes, I am, not in the same sense as Jesus is though. Do you believe that you are a son of God in the same sense as Jesus is a Son of God??

Yes Nick, the Lord God of Israel has been called Jehovah of hosts. Both Father and Son are eternal beings and both have the name Jehovah which appropriately demonstrates the eternalness of existence.
In Isaiah 8 we see that Jehovah is talking about Jehovah of hosts as someone other than Himself. In 1 Peter 2, Peter is identifying the…[Read more]
