Hi WJ,We both seem to agree that Jesus is God. I know you are a Trinitarian and I'm a oneness believer at the moment. In Hebrews 1: 8-10, it seems as if the Father is talking to the son. The problem I'm having in believing in the Trinity is how can the Father and the Holy Spirit be 2 seperate persons when the Bible declares that “God is a Spirit”…[Read more]

TonycbI suppose you are a oneness believer as well. Those questions/answers came from David Bernard's Book. I donot agree with all his views. First of all, the Father does have a conversation with the son. Read Hebrews 1 :8-10. Another thing, Jesus was fully man and God. Bernard makes Jesus sound like he has a split personality. Jesus didn't just…[Read more]

To ambassador of Christ,I am currently a oneness believer. But for a few years now I've been studying the oneness/trinity debate. Such scriptures as Hebrews 1:8-10 seem to show more than just one person. On the other hand, I struggle with believing in the trinity, because John 4:24 says ” God is a spirit…..”Yet we can't have the Father and the…[Read more]

Hi Jodi,I agree. John 14:28 says Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. But Jesus also declares in John 10:30 ” I and my Father are one.”:;):

Cato- To address Mark 10:18. Yes, Jesus did receive worship. John 20:28 “And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God.” Jesus didn't decline this praise from Thomas nor Thomas's realization that Jesus is God!???

Cato: It is called subjection in the Godhead: Philippians 2:5-8 “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a…[Read more]

You are right, nowhere in the bible does the term ” God the Son ” ever appear. I don't disagree that Jesus is the ” Son of God “. He is both man and God. In other words deity. Hence the scripture Titus 2:13 ” looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,” :;):

You would have a good point except you fail to realize how the “G” in the text of Isaiah 9:6 is written compared to the “g” in Psalm 82:6. Psalm 82:6 “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.” Thus, definition “1” would refer to Psalms 82:6 and definition “4” would refer to Isaiah 9:6. It was written that way for a reason.???

Hi Timothy VI,Scripture declares in 1 Timothy 3:16 “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.” :;):

If you were talking to me, ok, your right. 2 Peter 1:20 says, ” Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.” Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting…[Read more]

Consider these scriptures. We have some major problems if Jesus is not God! Isaiah 45:5 “I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:” KJV Isaiah 45:14 “Thus saith the LORD, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto…[Read more]

Jesus was not just flesh, he was God. He was both God and man. John 1:1 says ” In the begining was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.”Yes, we were created in the image of God. Genesis 1:26. But Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature.” Colossians 1:15Jesus had no sin because his Father was…[Read more]

Yes, 1 Timothy 3:16 also mentions that God was manifested in the flesh. If Jesus is not God, then who is being referred to in this scripture. Also, Hebrews 1:8 also declares that Jesus is God. “But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.” NKJV Verse 9 goes on to say “…[Read more]

Matthew 1:23 reads “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” NKJV I didn't interpret this, it is implied in the context. It talks about a virgin bearing a son. 1 Peter 1:20 “knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation”…[Read more]

How is Jesus not God? Jesus is not a demi god, but he is God. Hebrews 1:8, Matthew 1:23, John 1:1, 1 Timothy 3:16 all declare that Jesus is God. Also notice that the G in God with these scriptures is not a little g. :(

I was baptised in the Name of Jesus also! Right now I believe in the oneness doctrine, but I am leaning toward the trinity doctrine again. Several scripture seem to support it. The big one I am looking at is Hebrews 1:8. :)

How is one to be baptised? In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, or in the name of Jesus? :p
