The seven Emperors (Kings)
Here is another Christian interpretation of Revelation 17;
The Seven Kings represented by the heads in Rev 17:9-10 are:
August
Tiberius
Caligula
Claudius
Nero
Vespasian
Titus
According to the article “List of Roman Emperors” on britannica.com, Titus ruled for only a couple of years—a short time in comparison to the o…[Read more]gadam123 replied to the topic Was the Islam Caliphate the seventh kingdom? in the forum Prophecy 3 years, 2 months ago
Unless you understand that, you will never make any sense of Rev 17, it is absolutely crucial to understand that first and see how everything fit into that timeline. IMO
Sorry brother I don’t want any of your secret understanding. I request you to impress others on your strange interpretations on these ancient texts.

Now back to Revelation where it says:
“This calls for a mind with wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is seated;”
There are also seven kings.
It is seems a stretch to think the mountains here are NOT kingdoms especially given that kings are mentioned in the next verse. Kings rule kingdoms right. Remember in Dani…

THE FOUR KINGDOMS OF DANIEL
One of the most famous images in the Book of Daniel, and indeed in all of apocalyptic literature, is the statue that Nebuchadnezzar sees in his dream in Daniel chapter 2. This statue has a head of gold, its chest and arms of silver, its middle and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly…[Read more]

Adam…….The Seven heads on which Babylon sits are not the Seven “hills” of Rome, they are “mountains”, not the “hills” of Rome, but the Seven countenance’s or risings of the whole world, it means the whole world. , The Babylon system of rule is world ruling system of Government.

gadam, mountains are kingdoms and if you look at history, you see seven empires in succession and now no empire. The Beast is dead at the moment. What we have are basically kings or leaders of smaller states. But for how long?
Hi Proclaimer, this is where I differ with most of the Christian interpretation on Revelation 17. I have already argued…[Read more]

Prove everything you say BY the Bible, verse after verse and that it makes sense with God’s plan for us.
Hi Berean, nothing is hard and fast as these texts are ambiguous but we have to see the timeline and context of these writings. I have already quoted few verses in my post for your kind reference.

I am just passing through this thread and not much interested as most of the arguments put forth here are simply the speculations by misquoting the Biblical texts from Daniel and Revelation. Here are few thoughts on the Seven Kings of Revelation 17;
The description of the woman and the beast upon which she sits in 17:7–14 is one of the most d…[Read more]

I’m over Covid now. Thank God I had ivermectin
Hello Ed J, it’s good to see you back on Heavennet. Yes Ivermectin is very good medicine and we are prescribing for COVID19 here in India. I also took it this year along with my family.

Yes I agree with Proclaimer, after rapid Vaccination in India we could control massive deaths here with 1.4 Billion population. The Delta Plus variant affecting only with mild symptoms and no major hospitalizations. I think Mike is not trusting Science and Medicine. The above was a quote from Jesus the Messiah of God – not an “interpretation” from Luke. But how about you address Jesus’ point now? We both agree that – even after all three men had died – Yahweh still claimed to be their God. (He did not say he WAS the God of these men, but that He IS the God of these men, right?)
So… is Yahweh a God of…

Was Jesus the Jewish Messiah ?
The Messiah in Judaism (Hebrew: מָשִׁיחַ, romanized: māšîaḥ (Mashiach)) is a savior and liberator figure in Jewish eschatology, who is believed to be the future redeemer of the Jewish people. The concept of messianism originated in Judaism, and in the Hebrew Bible a messiah is a king or High Priest traditionally…[Read more]

Mike: Adam, the NT confirms Jesus as the Messiah because the OT says the Messiah will do A, B, and C… and Jesus did A, B, and C.
Adam: I reject the NT completely, and therefore I reject your claim that it confirms that Jesus did A, B and C.
Adam: The OT proves God because it tells how God did A, B and C.
Atheist: I reject your OT completel…

So that being said, back to that other route I’m trying…
There are only 3 possibilities, Adam…
1. Jesus was indeed the prophesied Messiah, and God did miracles through him.
2. Jesus was not who he claimed to be, and God did miracles through a liar.
3. God never did miracles through Jesus at all.
Which of those 3 do you believe?

So now the question of whether someone who is granted immorality can be destroyed by the one who granted it. Do you really think that after God grants immortality to someone, He is POWERLESS to take it back?

And if that had happened, Adam and Eve would be “immortal” – but only in the second sense, as they were not “FROM eternity”, but would be, from that point on, “TO eternity”

We have had just over 4100 cases of covid-19 in NZ. Despite that small number, we know a family that did get it earlier on and they are still suffering from long-term effects. Some had no symptoms or long term problems. Their ages ranged from 30s to 80s. But some did, including a young person still suffering from fatigue who needs to sleep up to…

The Great Disappointment of Parousia?
The Great Disappointment in the Millerite movement was the reaction that followed Baptist preacher William Miller’s proclamations that Jesus Christ would return to the Earth by 1844, what he called the Advent.
