If Jesus is not God, why should we worship him?

    Exodus 34:14 (New International Version)
14 Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

    Matthew 4:10
10Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.

If we should worship only one God which is the Father, then why should we worship the Son if indeed he is not a God?

Matthew 28:9 “And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, Rejoice! And they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.”

Hebrews 1:6 “But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says, “Let all the angels of God worship Him.”

if the only one God the Father is a jealous God, why would he command us and the angels to worship his Son?

The worship of a king as a king was common in that day and the angels were supposed to worship all men as they were made in the image of God.

But no one was to be worshiped as God except God because there is no god except God. That's why the Quran explains how the terms of language are so corrupted. A person can give praise to anyone but in the greatest sense all praises are due to God.

No one in any practical sense is the Son of God and when it is pointed out that in luke Adam is called the son of God many people conjur up that Jesus is not the son of God in that same sense even though Jesus is called the second Adam.

but you accuse anyone who accepts jesus for who and what he did as saying we worship or praise him over god or as an equal.

tht is not the same. to listen to and accept him as the bible says is showing faith and love not worship

    John 9:38
Then the man said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him.

    Luke 24:52
Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.

    Matthew 28:17
When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.

    Matthew 28:9
Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.

    Matthew 14:33
Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

Jesus never once asked for worship but He never refused it or corrected those for doing so. My opinion is that worship of Jesus only passes through to the Father as Jesus is always in submission to the Father and glorifies Him only.

So worship the Father, if you do in a moment of revelation on the Son find yourself adoring the Son, Jesus (as God's agent) will only pass it on to the Father.

    My opinion – Wm
