    Hi J,
Yes I have heard hundreds of justifications for refusing water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ.

No doubt I will hear hundreds more.

    Hi ED,
Certainly the body of Christ is washed by the Word.
But first you must ENTER by the door.

Seek ye first the kingdom and everything else will be added to you.

    Hi Nick,

Notice it doesn't say 'with the washing of water by the water'?

    Hi ED,
    Eph 5
    “25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

    CONTEXT
Jesus gave himself for the church and the washing by the word is reserved for those in Him.

    First you must ENTER

    Hi Ed,
Anyone who has yet to obey the command to be reborn of water and the Spirit and teaches it can be an obstacle to those who are ready to enter.

    Hi ,
It will be interesting for some when they meet the Lord
and explain to him that baptism in his name became unnecessary.

    To all

When John the baptist came the holy spirit was not given out then as it was only given out after Christ's death and resurrection.  So baptism by water was the only way for them.  No other way. The Jews had to acknowledge that their messiah had come.  This is what would separate the believers from the non believers.  It had to start somewhere.

So the Jews witnessed John the Baptist paving the way, then they witnessed their messiah in the flesh, performing all his miracles, and they saw with their eyes, and heard with their ears and they believed, but still could not fully understand Jesus' speech for the holy spirit was not given out yet.

That was over 2000 years ago.  We do not have this opportunity now.  We believe that the holy bible is the written word of God, and although we have not met our Lord, we have faith that the testament left for us is true, and that Christ is the Son of God, sent not only to them, but also to us to give life if we want it.  Through the scriptures we get to know our God, and Lord Jesus Christ on a personal level, and this seeking, and feeding on every word that God has given us with a pure heart and hunger to understand what he is telling us, is what it will take to be baptised with the holy spirit, the spirit of truth.  This baptism comes from Christ, not man.  It is not something you demand or place your booking order through the church, but it is a gift and a promise for those who diligently seek him.  It is for those who continue in the journey, who follow the lamb wherever he goes through good and bad, and continually feed on his word allowing the holy spirit, spirit of truth to grow and mature.

So is water baptism necessary?  It was for them back then, but for us now there is a better way.  The holy spirit comes in the name of Jesus Christ, because it is given from him and all those who have it belong to him for he knows he are his.

    Hi Nick, John 3:4-6 (KJV)

Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old?
can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Jesus told Nicodemus you cannot be born of water a second time!

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he
cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

    God bless

Man has never before been born of water.
If he had scripture would say so.

    Did it?

    Hi Nick,

In case you didn't know, water baptism symbolizes death.
The flesh (ego) can be starved to death. (see Gal.5:24)
