WHO IS THE KING OF THE NORTH AND WHO IS THE KING OF THE SOUTH?
Isiah mentioned egypt,assyria,and babylon.
And Daniel mentioned babylon, the medes, persia, greecia.
but then no more names are mentioned after greecia, but constantly only the king of the north and the king of the south.Who are they?
We know that one of alexanders general took egypt, and his name was ptolemy. And since then Rome and egypt always made war against each other.Rome is called the king of the north, and egypt the king of the south.Dan11.
The last war (the great war)also will be the king of the north against the king of the south.Rome the king of the north(we call it now the west) and egypt the king of the south(today is a muslem nation).
Therefore we can understand that the last big war will be the allies of the north(europe)against the allies of the south(muslems).
Daniel 11:40. And at the time of the end, shall the king of the south(muslems) push at him(just push, anoy):and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirl wind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
Verse 44. But tidings out of the east(the medes and allies)and out of the north(russia?)shall trouble him: Therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy and utterly to make away many.
Verse 45. And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace(his temple) between the seas(the med.sea and the dead sea),in the glorious holy mountain(jerusalem)yet he shall come to his end and none shall help him(the false prophet, little horn).(the king of the north).
The tabernacles of his palace is the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Jesus in math.24:15.
I hope things are getting much clearer now.

Hi EdjThe Muslim nations do play a huge role in the events to come, only they are against the false prophet, the king of the north. He will also conquer Palestine, a muslim nation.
Isaiah 14:31 Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.
That huge war called Jacob's trouble in Israel will be between the false prophets kingdom (10 kings) and the muslim nations. the muslims will be very upset over something. Maybe their dome is destroyed?

Study before you speak.Dan 11:2 And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than [they] all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.
Dan 11:3 And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will.
Dan 11:4 And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those.
Dan 11:5 ¶ And the king of the south shall be strong, and [one] of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion [shall be] a great dominion.
Dan 11:6 And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king's daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthened her in [these] times.

I'm not sure what you are trying to get at?
Quote Dan 11:2 And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than [they] all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia. Compare to;
Daniel 7:5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unit , Arise devour much flesh. That bear is that king of Persia, the fourth king.
Quote Dan 11:3 And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will. Alexander
Quote Dan 11:4 And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those. Alexander

This is what I understand, …. is future for them then, but history for us now?
The king's daughter of the south is Cleopatra (Egypt)
(originally from Macedonia and migrated to Egypt with Alexander the great)
she married the king of the North – Mark Antony (Rome)
She shall not not retain the power of the arm,
neither shall he stand.
Mark Antony committed suicide,
and Cleopatra ended her life the same way after this.
She was the last pharaoh of Egypt
as Rome took over Egypt.March 30, 2012 at 11:22 pm#288984PastryParticipantJourney, that's why I come here , for a good laugh.

Hi GeorgThank you for that correction. I hope you are having fun laughing!
Yes Mark Antony was a general.
Julius Caesar, Cleopatra's lover, set her up in Egypt before this.
Caesar was a general also, but nevertheless, he was from the north, and not a king, but a leader, a general. What other queen of the south could it be? Cleopatra was notable, and made a big impact on the politics between Rome and Egypt. Her initial dealings were with Julius Caesar, and after he died she began ties with Mark Antony. So this makes me think more to the lines that Julius Caesar is called the king of the north, even though he was not a king, but a ruler, a statesman. Getting closer….
If you have a better interpretation, please do share.
