Hi CB,
So the Father worships the Son and His own Spirit etc.
It sounds foreign to scripture but I guess you have proofs?January 15, 2007 at 5:15 am#37140Cult BusterParticipantTo make it clearer for you to grasp, try to focus on the following. Even the Jews understood that Jesus was claiming to be God. The great God that spoke face to face with Abraham and others.
Exo 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.Jesus Himself claimed to be the “I AM” God of the old testament.
John 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
John 8:57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM.
John 8:59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.The Jews knew that Jesus was referring to Himself as ”I AM”, the Almighty God, that is why they took up stones to cast at Him. They thought that He was a man claiming to be God.
The clearly Jews understood that Jesus was Himself claiming to be God.Here is some more food for thought; the words of Jesus our God.
Joh 6:35 I AM the bread of life:
Joh 6:41 I AM the bread which came down from heaven.
Joh 8:12 I AM the light of the world
Joh 8:23 I AM from above:
Joh 10:9 I AM the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved
Joh 10:11 I am the good shepherd:
Joh 11:25 I AM the resurrection, and the life:
Joh 14:6 I AM the way, the truth, and the life:
Joh 15:1 I AM the true vine
Joh 13:13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I AM.
Joh 8:24 …for if ye believe not that I AM he, ye shall die in your sins.
THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT JESUS IS THE GREAT GOD JEHOVAH WITH THE FATHER AND THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Rev 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
All praise to God the Father… God the Son Jesus Christ… and God the Holy Spirit! ALL Three merit perfect praise. Holy, Holy, Holy! If there is only one God they would not have repeated the worshipful praise three times.
Holy! Holy! Holy!

Quote HiCB,
Funny thing but Jesus said his father was greater than himself so
should the greater worship the lesser?NH You distort the meaning of scripture so you can cling to your Arian beliefs.
There has on this forum been much confusion between Christ’s mission or “office” as Messiah and that of His substance which is The Eternal God.
When Christ was to leave heaven and was to take the form of a man He did not cease to be God. He simply put aside His own divine power and was dependent on God for power. This makes Him our example to follow because we too are to depend totally on God.
Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
He had to overcome Satan while living as a man. Christ did not come to earth to show what a God can do, but what man can do when he depends on God for power. He succeeded where Adam failed.
Heb 2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
Heb 2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
Heb 2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.Heb 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
A human body was fashioned for Christ. A body which had sinful propensities just like ours. A body less than what Adam had, weakened by the curse of sin.
Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Christ condemned sin in the flesh. He resisted sin. Don’t forget that He laid aside His divine power and did not use it for His own benefit, overcoming temptation relying on God for power. We too can resist temptation if we rely on God for power. Christ was our example.
Heb 2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
Heb 2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.Luk 4:2 (Jesus) Being forty days tempted of the devil.
Luk 4:12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.Who was being tempted here? Jesus; The Lord thy God.
1Ti 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
There are many instances in the scripture where Jesus calls the Father..His God and says the Father is greater than I. I always thought this was in reference to Jesus being a Man on earth. But you also have accounts of Jesus calling the Father His God after the resurection. He calls the Father His God when speaking to Mary and again in Revelations. (Rev 3:12) Why is Jesus still calling the Father His God? There is also a passage that says the head of Jesus is God. (1 Cor 11:3)
In many of these instances Jesus was encumbered with humanity or within the context of Him being the Messiah. Don’t forget that Christ is still ministering for us right now as our High Priest in the heavenly sanctuary. So His mission is not yet over.
Even within the Godhead each Divine Person recognise and have reverence for the other as God.
Heb 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
In John 5:26 Jesus says:
26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself,This is also in the context of Christ mission as Messiah. Within the Godhead a plan was made for the salvation of man. It is evident that each divine Person within the Godhead takes on a different office or role. It is a pity that we too cannot learn to work together and to serve each other.
John 6:58 says:
57 As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me.This also is in the context of Christ’s mission as Messiah. I have already covered this.
Joh 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him (Jesus), My Lord and my God.

Thomas knew when he saw Christ he was also “seeing ” the Father.Jesus told him in Jn 14.

January 16, 2007 at 6:20 pm#37293NickHassanParticipantHi CB,
And look at what Jesus taught Thomas.Jn 14
“1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
10Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.”
He listened.
Will you?
Can you?February 13, 2007 at 1:37 am#40232quitarguingoverstupidstuffParticipantI apologize to everyone I may have offended in these forums.
Please don't look at me as an example of what a JW is, I haven't been one in over 10 years.
Anyway, I'm sorry for anyone in these forums that I've upset. I'm going to get my life on track, so I will no longer be joining in on these conversations for quite some time, if ever again.
I don't want my opinions to offend anymore people, so again I apologize to all.
The complete board is back to being your's Nick……………may your efforts of spreading “your” truth bring you all the happiness you can get from it.
And to anyone on this site that bashes the witnesses, please remember this, It's not the witnesses you are bashing, but Jehovah.
And to all you “born again” Christians who love using Jesus name……..please think about this info:
God’s name is Jehovah
“We do not say that “Jehovah” is the correct pronunciation of God's name. For that matter, neither is “Jesus” the correct pronunciation of Christ's name. But according to the Aramaic language which Christ and his apostles spoke, his name was pronounced “Yeshu'a”……. But “Jesus” is only our colloquial way of pronouncing his name, and we do not find fault with you for using it instead of Yeshu'a.
It might be added here what the meaning of the Son of God's name “Jesus” is, whilst he dwelt on earth as a man, as used by all translations. According to Weymouth this name means “Jehovah is Salvation.”(The New Testament in Modern Speech, ftnote 21 under Matthew 1:21.) He is entirely right. So every time anyone uses this name, Jesus, (which is not the original pronunciation of it in the 1st century) he is using and supporting a form of The Divine Name JEHOVAH
“Those who reject the English “Jehovah” and insist on using the Hebrew pronunciation[Yahweh] would do well to ask themselves why they say “Jesus Christ,” when that was not the way his name was pronounced in Hebrew. That is the English way, derived from the Greek language. In Hebrew, Jesus would be closer to “Yehshua” and Christ would be “Mash'edahh.” So, as we say “Jesus Christ” in the English language, we also say “Jehovah,” both being correct when speaking English.”
I again apologize to everyone I may have offended….
My only request was that you quit arguing over stupid stuff, and focus on the more important issues in these last days, but even I can't seem to stop arguing, so I'm bowing out to go do what I know I need to do to get my life back on track.
There's no need to respond to my messages anymore, because I'm now saying good buy to you all…………….
May all of your searches for “truth” bring you to what it is you are searching for.
Peace to all….I'm out!

It is quite ridiculous really to say that the Holy Spirit is just the spiritual presence of the Father or the Son or of both. At the baptism of Jesus the Three were manifested there. The Father spoke from heaven, Jesus was in the water being baptized, and the Holy Spirit came down upon Jesus like a dove. The Father and Jesus needed no spiritual presence of any third party.
Remember too the baptismal formula Jesus gave at Matthew 28:19 – “baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Blind Freddy can surely see that there are Three Persons in the Heavenly Trio.
The HOLY SPIRIT (a Person) is endowed with very “personal” characteristics like:
Intelligence and knowledge, feelings and teaching ability.(John 14:26) “for He will teach you all things”.
1 Cor. 2:13,14 He teaches us spiritual things, helping us to discern spiritual things

God has a soul.
Lev 26
9For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.10And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new.
11And I set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.
12And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.
13I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.'
But does God, the Father, have a body because of the references to his eyes, ears, fingers, arms, feet?
Not an earthly visible body.March 19, 2007 at 2:15 am#45397WoutlawParticipantwow, I see that there are some new people here. That is great. How is everyone else? It's been a long time.
Listen folks, The Father is the One and Only true God. Christ said so in John 17:3. God exalted Christ to a high position. He MADE him Lord over us. But will he be in this position forever???? read the following, 1 Corinthians 15:24-28, Psalm 110:1. When all is fulfilled, the Son will be SUBJECT (Please look up the Greek word for Subject) to the Father. Who is God subject too??? Please tell me who is greater than He?? Tell me who can exalt God to a position?
Food for thought

Quote Listen folks, The Father is the One and Only true God. Christ said so in John 17:3. Jesus is simply addressing the Father for being the only true God since this is what he truly is, and yet we know from the same Bible that the only true God exists as Three Persons.
The Holy Scriptures plainly show that both the Son and the Holy Spirit are also truly God.
Therefore, since the one true God exists as a Godhead this means that the three Persons can be addressed as the only true God both individually and collectively. Putting it another way:
·The Godhead is the only true God.
·Each specific member of the Godhead is the only true God.
·Therefore, the members of the Godhead are the only true God, whether individually or collectively. This is why Jesus can speak of one member of the Godhead as the only true God without this implying that the other members are not God. To make this point more clear, notice what the inspired book of Hebrews says:
“But about the Son he says, ‘Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.’ He also says, ‘In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.’” Hebrews 1:8-12
The Father praises his Son by calling him God, Lord, eternal King and for being the Creator and Sustainer of all creation! The same Scriptures teach that Jesus is the only sovereign Master and Lord:
“For admission has been secretly gained by some who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly persons who pervert the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.” Jude 1:4
Now does this mean that the Father is not God, sovereign Master, Lord, and the Creator of the heavens and the earth? The answer is obvious.
The Father, according to the Holy Bible, is just as much God, Master, Lord, and just as responsible for creating and sustaining the universe as the Son is.
In a similar way, the Son glorifying his Father as the only true God doesn’t mean that Christ was denying that he is full Deity as well.Heb 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

You say
“Jesus is simply addressing the Father for being the only true God since this is what he truly is, and yet we know from the same Bible that the only true God exists as Three Persons. “
Mystery Babylon!March 22, 2007 at 8:34 pm#45789NickHassanParticipantHi,
Who is the physical father of Jesus?
Scripture says that the Holy Spirit is.
That is fine as the Spirit is of God and does the work of God on earth.Trinity theory cannot cope with this big problem.
If God is a trinity then the Father is not the father of Jesus. Is then the “whole trinity” his father?
That would make him his own father.Irreconcilable.
