why dont you read the context edj. you will find the answer by reading its context.
April 17, 2012 at 7:24 pm#292989NickHassanParticipantHi ED,
Jesus Christ is the shepherd, the man that is the fellow of God.Zech 13:7-9 Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the “LORD of Hosts”:
smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts(66.6%)
therein shall be cut off and die; but the third(33.3%) shall be left therein.9 And I will bring the third part through the fire (Zech 3:2), and will refine them as silver is refined,
and will try them as gold is tried (Rev.3:18): they shall call on my name, and I will hear
them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.I would suggest the spirit of antichrist is the sword.
God keeps a one third remnant to be purified while the rest are lost.April 17, 2012 at 8:50 pm#292996NickHassanParticipantHi ED,
And the sword followed Jesus
Matthew 10:34
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. With the Sword of the Spirit we have two witnesses to SWORDS being at times SPIRITS
April 17, 2012 at 8:54 pm#292997NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
And another witness
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.April 17, 2012 at 8:55 pm#292998NickHassanParticipantMore from Revelation ED,
Revelation 1:16
And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.Revelation 2:16
Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.April 17, 2012 at 8:59 pm#293001NickHassanParticipantHi ED,
There are more of course in Revelation 19 etc.So though the word SWORD occurs over 400 times in scripture it can mean spirit.
The Lord Jesus Christ uses the Spiritual sword and so must we.The power of Jesus is from the Spirit in him.
The Word is the SpiritApril 17, 2012 at 9:18 pm#293003NickHassanParticipantHi ED,
So the spirit of antichrist slew the Shepherd and decimated the new christians.
Their scattering though allowed gentiles like us to hear the gospel.
That spirit still hates and opposes his brothers.April 18, 2012 at 9:54 am#293145NickHassanParticipantQuote (Ed J @ April 16 2012,08:24) Jammin and Nick, Daniel 9:21-22 Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel,
whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me
about the time of the evening oblation. And he informed me, and talked with me,
and said, O Daniel, I have now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.
Hi ED,
It is not unusual for angelic beings to be mistaken for men
Josh 5.13-15April 19, 2012 at 1:10 am#293308Ed JParticipantHi Nick, the context of Luke 2:35 proves the sword is about Jesus.
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief:
and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. (Isaiah 53:3)He is addressing Mary, BUT referring to Jesus rather than Mary: for a sign which shall be spoken against;
(Yea, a sword, shall pierce through thy own soul also) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed. (Luke 2:35)Luke 24:38-39 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold
my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.God bless

You cannot be convinced against your dogma.
He was speaking TO MARY and he said(Yea, a sword, shall pierce through thy own soul also) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed. (Luke 2:35)
Then if scripture cannot show why should we try?

What is in brackets relates to the HEARER Mary.
The rest is about Jesus. But something stops you from accepting what you do not already KNOW.
You are not our problem so believe what you will.April 19, 2012 at 1:42 am#293326Ed JParticipantHi Nick,
People often resort to name calling when their “so called proof” comes up deficient. You are not alone in this.

and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword,
that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.
20: Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed
thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned. These three points of focus “DO” establish the matter:
1. cast out of thy grave
2. like an abominable branch
3. thrust through with a sword“At the mouth of three witnesses,
