Hi Nick. Of course Jesus has to still return as He left. He returns at the end of the world.
2 Peter 3 explains everything simply.

“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field, but while people slept, his enemy came and sowed darnel weeds also among the wheat, and went away.
But when the blade sprang up and produced fruit, then the darnel weeds appeared also.
The servants of the householder came and said to him, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where did these darnel weeds come from?’
“He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’“
The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and gather them up?’
“But he said, ‘No, lest perhaps while you gather up the darnel weeds, you root up the wheat with them.
Let both grow together until the harvest, and in the harvest time I will tell the reapers,
“First, gather up the darnel weeds, and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn.”Then Jesus sent the multitudes away, and went into the house. His disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the darnel weeds of the field.”
He answered them, “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man, the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the children of the Kingdom; and the darnel weeds are the children of the evil one.
The enemy who sowed them is the devil.
The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels.
As therefore the darnel weeds are gathered up and burned with fire; so will it be at the end of this age.
The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his Kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and those who do iniquity, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!Matthew 24:23

(Revelation 19:17 the calling to the birds to gather means there is death. In Luke, the Disciples asked WHERE they will be TAKEN, and Jesus says the same: “wherever the carcass is, there is where the vultures will be gathered, so this is not speaking of the taken being raptured, but the taken being taken away by the fire, dead, God’s chosen remaining alive.)(Jesus backtracks to before that day?) But immediately after the oppression of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken (this can have another meaning); and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky.
Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. (So bright it will be)
He will send out his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. (This is after the destruction of the world by fire).“As the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ship,
and they didn’t know until the flood came, and took them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and one will be left (Jesus just finished saying that the FLOOD came and took them all away, and likewise, two and one will be taken like in the flood and one will remain, alive); two women grinding at the mill, one will be taken and one will be left.
Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes.
But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

But we don’t want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don’t grieve like the rest, who have no hope.

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with God’s trumpet.
The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air.
So we will be with the Lord forever.Whatever happens, please, always keep these words of Jesus and the Apostles in mind..

‘Lean not on thine own understanding’ (but lean on God).

A 1st and 2nd death.
A 1st and 2nd judgement.
Thy will be done on earth as in heaven.
The millennium will be for 1000years,not 2000years.
The earth will melt after all the preaching is done on earth.
The dragon and his angels will be cast into the fire after the 1000years.

Christ is not ruling in His kingdom now.
There is a time appointed for Him to rule; when all his enemies are put under his feet.
The dragon is free to do his thing but controlled; until the coming.wakeup.

‘Jesus Christ, who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.’
‘and He is the head over all rule and authority’.Again, do you not call that ruling?
‘when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet.’

Of course Jesus has been given ALL authority .. you do realise that this viewpoint is nothing more than a contradiction right?
Don’t you realise that DURING all THIS TIME that Satan has been ruling .. every single second of it .. that ALL the POWER & AUTHORITY IN HEAVEN & ON EARTH has ALWAYS .. ALWAYS .. always been WITH GOD every single step of the way?? .. you do realise this yes?
YET .. Satan has been ruling!!
Does this take away God’s POWER & AUTHORITY?
Of course not!!
You do know the difference between a husbandman and a owner yes?
Don’t confuse #1- the kingdom (even still today) being in the hands of husbandmen, opposed to it’s future being #2- under direct (hands on) control of Christ!
Do not confuse THAT subject with the separate subject of #3- Satan’s allotted time rule over the EARTH #4- UNTIL Christ returns to take hands on control over BOTH the vineyard AND the Earth after locking up the prince of this world (terminating said “leaseholder’s” claim).
Again, do you not call that ruling?

Context please .. Sit Thou at My right hand UNTIL .. “I” .. MAKE .. “YOUR”.. ENEMIES .. “YOUR” .. FOOTSTOOL.
God is doing it!!
So HOW can Christ be directly ruling in His millennial kingdom when He was commanded to SIT AND WAIT (at ascension) UNTIL GOD HIMSELF made His SON’S enemies “His” FOOTSTOOL??
Simple answer is .. He can’t.
He can’t be DIRECTLY ruling it YET even though He does HAVE ALL AUTHORITY over it because SATAN’S “LEASE” Isn’t UP YET.
Thus, when Christ RETURNS, the footstool will be ready .. Satan’s “LEASE” will have expired and THEN He will take direct control over the Vineyard (which is right now STILL in the hands of men) AND the Earth.
UNTIL then .. He is SITTING IN HIS FATHER’S THRONE (room) .. NOT in HIS INHERITED WORLDLY KINGDOM on HIS OWN THRONE of GLORY.
Just because Satan is still ruling in no way takes away from the FACT that the OWNER (God) IS and ALWAYS WAS and ALWAYS WILL BE in COMPLETE AUTHORITY.
Cam, I am not being disrespectful to YOU, but that whole doctrine’s argument is null and void .. like I said .. it is a CONTRADICTION against what is ALREADY taking place in the REAL & OBSERVABLE WORLD!!
Just because Satan has AUTHORITY on earth doesn’t mean that there isn’t a higher POWER in AUTHORITY above him .. which there is .. God & His Christ!
Come out of them Cam, do not let them deceive you any more than they have, look at the basic error they have made!! How can you trust their “solids” when even their “milk” is “curdled” ?

Remember how Christ IS RIGHT NOW sitting at God’s right hand (by commandment FROM the Father) & IN His Father’s throne (room), COMMANDED to SIT & WAIT UNTIL God makes His enemies His footstool .. well ..
Isaiah 42:14 I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.
This also goes against your argument of Christ ruling in His kingdom even now ..
Because SITTING STILL and REFRAINING ONESELF is NOT .. IS NOT .. NOT IN ANY WAY THE SAME AS THIS:
Revelation 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Ruling with a ROD of IRON means SWIFT and IMMEDIATE punishment .. NOT refraining and sitting still ..
One would only REFRAIN and SIT STILL if this was commanded them:
Mark 12:36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Which also goes against your view yet harmonizes perfectly with “ours”.
Please think long & hard on this, nobody likes being deceived.

Thanks for your concern, but I believe what I believe because I have asked Jesus how we would know it is truly Him who has returned. So, I do not believe as I believe due to some group label, but i believe as I believe, as do so many other Amillennials, because that is what I was shown. I am more concerned for you, and those who believe similar, that you may be deceived when and if, a false Jesus comes.
It makes perfect sense to me now. This is the kingdom of the Son, and He is ruling with a rod of iron. The wheat has to grow with the tares, and the last enemy to be put under His feet is death. Then, is the eternal Kingdom of the Father, a Kingdom we could not yet imagine. For more, please see my replies here:
