this verses that follows i do not understand ,because Jesus addressed the guilt on “this generation”for all the prophets.
Mk 14:24 “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many,” he said to them.
Lk 11:50 Therefore this generation will be held responsible for the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the beginning of the world,
Lk 11:51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, this generation will be held responsible for it all.anyone knows?

Mt 23:30 And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our forefathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’
Mt 23:35 And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.Mt 27:25 All the people answered, “Let his blood be on us and on our children!”

Good question. I believe if you read the statue on rebuking in the Law of Mosses and the rest of the words in the passage about the blood of the prophets that you can find the understanding you seek by asking God for guidance.
I am suggesting you apply the principle that tell why you should rebuke your neighbor to the passage in question in seeking knowledge.

this seems a equation;
Dt 32:36 The LORD will judge his people
and have compassion on his servants
when he sees their strength is gone
and no one is left, slave or free.
Dt 32:37 He will say: “Now where are their gods,
the rock they took refuge in,
Dt 32:38 the gods who ate the fat of their sacrifices
and drank the wine of their drink offerings?
Let them rise up to help you!
Let them give you shelter!Dt 32:39 “See now that I myself am He!
There is no god besides me.
I put to death and I bring to life,
I have wounded and I will heal,
and no one can deliver out of my hand.
Dt 32:40 I lift my hand to heaven and declare:
As surely as I live forever,
Dt 32:41 when I sharpen my flashing sword
and my hand grasps it in judgment,
I will take vengeance on my adversaries
and repay those who hate me.
Dt 32:42 I will make my arrows drunk with blood,
while my sword devours flesh:
the blood of the slain and the captives,
the heads of the enemy leaders.”Dt 32:43Make his people rejoice, O nations, with his people, and let all the angels worship
for he will avenge the blood of his servants;
he will take vengeance on his enemies
and make atonement for his land and peopleWho his the one they talking about??and why?

PierreLet me try and explain it this way.
Have you ever read the OT and thought; boy, if I had lived then, and seen all the wonders, I would have behaved different.
Look at our world today, has not each generation become more depraved then the previous one?
Has not each generation tolerated, and then excepted, what the previous one thought was “unacceptable”?
At one point God will punish the people for their evil, even if they were not the once that had actually killed all the prophets.
Jesus pronounced sentence on this generation which was carried out less then 40 years later, AD 70.
We, the whole world, will be punished for all the evil we have allowed to happen; we too have rejected God, rejected Jesus, rejected truth; with the exception of a few individuals.Georg

In context:
Luk 11:47 “Woe to you, because you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
Luk 11:48 “So you bear witness that you approve of the works of your fathers, because they indeed killed them, and you build their tombs.
Luk 11:49 “And because of this the wisdom of Elohim said, ‘I shall send them prophets and emissaries, and some of them they shall kill and persecute,ʼ
Luk 11:50 so that the blood of all the prophets which was shed from the foundation of the world shall be required of this generation, and a few verses earlier we read:
Luk 11:29 And while the crowds were thronging, He began to say, “This generation is wicked. It seeks a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of Yonah the prophet.
Luk 11:30 “For as Yonah became a sign to the Ninewites, so also the Son of Aḏam shall be to this generation.
Luk 11:31 “The sovereigness of the South shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation and shall condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Shelomoh, and look, a greater than Shelomoh is here.
Luk 11:32 “The men of Ninewĕh shall rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Yonah, and look, a greater than Yonah is here.As it was written, every generation who follows the false doctrines of men like their forefathers, who also rejected truth, who had the Prophets who sound a warning to repent and to return to Torah and the worship of YHWH ELohim. Back in the day of Jonah there were cities full of people who embrased the worship of “the gentiles” who worshipped Dagon the fish-god. It was up to Jonah to go to them and tell them what they were doing was wrong, a slap in the face to the All Mighty. Jonah knew how deep into pagan worship these folks were and he would that YHWH just destrou them all, thus he tried to flee on a ship. Jonah was cast off that ship and spent three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish. Jonah repented while being swallowed up for running from the thing that YHWH required of him. Then the fish spewed him out onto dry land.
Yahushua Messiah told us that he would be like Jonah in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights. He would be burried in the tomb, three days and three nights.
TODAY we live in “this generation” rejecting the truth as the Messiah gave it. Today the church reaches that He was burried on a friday and rose on a sunday. Woe to the false shepherd who lead the sheep astray. There is not way one can ge three whole days and three whole nights from a friday burial to a sunday ressurection.
This is the wicked and adulterous generation mentioned in context!
The truth is, that becuase men have rejected the Torah, the Sabbaths, and the Feasts of YHWH, we have been blinded by false doctrines, the doctrines of easter which is actually the name of the pagan goddess of fertility.
So keep on celebrating the pagan holy days and keep on rejecting YAH's Appointed Feasts and you will never learn how Yahushua Messiah literally spent three days and three nights in the grave according to Himself! Now who are you gonna follow? Will you follow the Master Yahushua Messiah, or men who teach false doctrines, liars, and murderers, wolves in Sheep's clothing?

GeorgI have search to understand it ,and now yes I agree with you ,that it is that way, some were i have read that the revenge his mine says God ,and i will chose wen and how,
i can not remember were the scripture is ,and like you say the time and the wickedness was there as God told them not to follow the nation around them ,
is it not just like today for the true Christians?
wen i start thinking of what is coming from God as retribution to the wicket ,it is chilling,
Thanks georg
I hope Irene feels better.
