Hi Everyone,
I have started this thread at Dennison's prompting; I hope it will be a blessing to us all!
What about 'your' claims, Dennison? Do you really believe God will obliterate (according to Dennison) the Earth??Scriptural Reference
Gen.6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me;
for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Did God completely obliterate the Earth? No, Dennison God just destroyed the flesh on Earth, just the flesh on Earth!Scriptural Reference
We read: 2Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens
shall pass away with a great noise, and the rudiments shall melt with fervent heat,
the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.“The Rudiments”
You need to know what “the rudiments” are, so you know what is getting burned up!
Elements should have been translated rudiments; the rudiments are what is getting burned up; Dennison!2Peter 3:10 But “the day of the Lord” will come as a thief in the night;
in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise,
and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth
also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.Elements: Greek #4747 στοιχεῖον (stoicheion) stoy-khi'-on:
the elements of knowledge , principally: Rudiments.
What gets 'burned up' is the 'rudiments'! (2Peter 3:10)
Rudiments: an arrangement unable to perform it's normal function,
a fundamental skill, something uniformed. (Gen.2:17)Col.2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy
and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Col:2:20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world,
why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,God bless

Rudiments, are principals.Principals, are things that are most important to man.
In other words, all what man has created, his governments, his religions, his very way of life; will be burned up, destroyed; but you are right, not the planet earth it self.

Hi Dennison,All spiritual impurity is going to be burned up!
2Thessalonians 1:7-10 And to you who are troubled rest with us,
when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not
the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction
from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come
to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe
(because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.First the natural, afterward the spiritual
1Corinthians 15:46: Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual,
but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
First the impurity which is natural was destroyed (Gen.6:13),
and afterward that which is spiritually impure (2Peter 3:10).“The Day of The LORD”
Luke 21:33-36 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting,
and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape
all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.God bless

Greetings Ed….The destruction of the earth that is spoken of has nothing to do with God but has every thing to do with man and the result of armed conflict…this is what will cause God to intervene before man destroys life as we know it….January 18, 2011 at 12:14 am#233550BakerParticipantQuote (theodorej @ Jan. 18 2011,09:16) Quote (Ed J @ Jan. 17 2011,15:38) Quote (Baker @ Jan. 17 2011,15:13) Rudiments, are principals. theoWhat you are referring to is
Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Mat 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
This has nothing to do with man destroying himself; it “had” to do with Israels greatest tribulation ever, which occurred during Hitlers time; he killed over 6 million Jews; had he won the war there would be no flesh, Jew, saved alive. The days were cut short when Germany lost the war.

February 1, 2011 at 2:09 am#234976ShaniaParticipantHow does this line up?
Rev 21:1
21:1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth , for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.
NIVBut really, why is this being argued? What does it have to do with our own personal walks with God? How is it affecting the readers?

hello shania.it depends what time you live in,
paul said, the antichrist will come, making himself out to be god, and will put himself in the seat and will have people worship him. even an image will be made to worship. so, if there is to be a false return of the messiah and a true one, then which one is which? so, yes, these things are important,
the fact is, peter has said that this world will be burnt up and destroyed and a new earth will be, and all of this ties in with the coming of the lord, the coming of jesus. which is more than likely why peter said more than once, repeatedly that the day of the lord will come burning like an oven.
so yes, shania, it is important, especially to us these days.
the lord said do not be decieved. the whole world it says will be decieved.
pray and ask.
