2Peter 3:10 But “the day of the Lord” will come as a thief in the night;
in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise,
and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth
also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

OK; the word that Elements was translated from: should have been translated to English as rudiments; which is what is getting burned-up!

Elements:  Greek #4747 στοιχεῖον (stoicheion) stoy-khi'-on:
(Strong's)  the elements of knowledge , principally: Rudiments.
                  What gets 'burned up' is the 'rudiments'! (2Peter 3:10)

Rudiments: an arrangement unable to perform it's normal function,
(Webster)   a fundamental skill, something uniformed. (Gen.2:17)  

Here, the same translated word tells “US” what it is that is getting burned-up.
Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy
and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Col.2:20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world,
why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances(?),

Thank you for asking Ed, we are feeling somewhat better, but there are still moments when I think of Debbie and I miss Her so much…..
Two deaths in one week is hard to take…. Our Grandson and His Wife took of to Washington DC, and are trying to cope with their loss of their Daughter…Peace and Love Irene
