I noticed how your definition of “Israel” morphed in such a short time. Originally you said that it meant “prince WITH God.” Then I showed you that the word “archon” means “FIRST in rank” and your definition of “Israel” mystically and magically changes to “first in rank AFTER God.”
NO! You originally said that it means “Prince WITH God.” I am holding you to this. The fact that “archon” means “FIRST in rank” does not mean that “WITH God” automatically comes to mean “AFTER God.”

Hi Kang,You mean you need to hold yourself to it! So where is the inconsistency?
Jesus is Prince
YHVH is “King” (Psalm 10:16 / Psalm 29:10) and Jesus is his Son, thus “Prince”!And Jesus is first in rank after God
1Tm.2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
1Cor.11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ;
and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.June 15, 2010 at 11:23 pm#197247KangarooJackParticipantQuote (Ed J @ June 16 2010,10:05) Quote (Kangaroo Jack @ June 16 2010,09:23) ED J said: Quote Rev.1:5: And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, (FIRST in rank after YHVH) ED J,

You said that the word “Israel” means “Prince WITH God.” But now it magically comes to mean “AFTER God” when it is pointed out to you that “archon” means “FIRST in rank”. This is a contradiction within itself isn't it? One who is “first” but AFTER someone is not “first” at all is he?Rid yourself of your oxymorons.

ED J,Strong indicates that “archon” is from # 757 which means “to be first in rank.” Then he defines “archon” itself as “first in rank or power.” Then he gives the secondary meanings you have indicated.
So it is you who has not done your homework. The first definition is the primary definition.
And you misuse the word “prince.” While on the throne King James was referred to as “the Mighty King James” or “the Mighty Prince James. So a prince was not a lesser co-regent. The new testament says that Jesus was both Israel's King and Prince. Jesus rode into Jerusalem as Israel's King. This proves that you misuse the word “prince.” The word “prince” in the KJV is archaic. The Greek “archon” should be translated “ruler” or “chief ruler.”
You and I are done for good! You do not know how to engage in honest discourse.

Messiah the prince is spoken of among the princes in Daniel.
He is the appointed as 'David'king of Israel, even king of kings.

Hi Ed,That still doesnt answer the question.
Is Isreal in you opinion,
A) The country nation today on the earth (in the middle east)
B) A race of people/Hebrews 12 tribes
C) Christians today (So Isreal after Jesus became followers in the Son)
AB or C?

But #758 is from #757.Anyway, the primary meaning of 758 is “first in rank or power.” The meanings you gave for “archon” are secondary meanings. The word “prince” is archaic English. The word “archon” should be updated to simply mean “ruler” which it is in most current translations.
Jesus is both King and Prince.

June 17, 2010 at 12:49 am#197491karmarieParticipantKJ and Ed, soon the Lord will return, soon the earth and all ungodliness will be destroyed, after the Tribulation which will come in the Middle east and spread to the whole world. They who follow the beast.
It could be.. they worship Allah who has made 'himself' to be God, and all who do not worship the beast will be killed.' Their 'Mahdi' will come (before Jesus in their belief and fight all non believers) and they will probably then set up an image of him. Then they will fight to kill all non muslims. Then suddenly “The Day of the Lord' will come, burning with heat, a 24 hour day, I can match all this with scripture, I just dont have the time right now.
Or maybe it is in Isreal, a Jewish Messiah? The rebuilding of a third temple?
