Please take the time to read these scriptures. The same people who taught the trinity taught that the commandments were done away with. Are we to believe what we were taught and not what the word says?
DO YOU WANT TO BE THE LEAST IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (MAT. 5:19)?
There are two kinds of Law one writen by God and one God gave Moses to write:
God's Law, the Law He wrote: The Ten Commandments (Deu. 10:1-5)
Deu 10:1 At that time Jehovah said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood.
Deu 10:2 And I will write on the tables the words that were on the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark.
Deu 10:3 So I made an ark of acacia wood, and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in my hand.
Deu 10:4 And HE WROTE ON THE TABLETS, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which Jehovah spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and Jehovah gave them unto me.
Deu 10:5 And I turned and came down from the mount, and put the “TABLETS IN THE ARK” which I had made; and there they are as Jehovah commanded me.Moses' Law, the Law God gave to Moses: The ritual sacrificial Law (Deu. 31:9 & 26)
Deu 31:9 And MOSES WROTE THIS LAW, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi, that bare the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and unto all the elders of Israel.
Deu 31:10 And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the set time of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles
Deu 31:26 Take this book of the law, and put it BY THE SIDE of the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, that it may be there for a WITNESS AGAINST THEE . (COMPARE Col. 2:14)Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ORDINANCES AGAINST US, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Notice that God wrote the Ten Commandments (not Moses) and Moses placed them IN THE ARK.
Notice the Law that God gave Moses law to write (Moses' Law) then MOSES COMMANDED them to be placed by the side of the ark by a priest. Also notice that the ritual/sacrificial law was “a witness against us”
“God commanded Moses” to place the Ten Commandments in the Ark.
“Moses commanded the priest” to place the Sacrifical Law which was written by him to place “that” Law by the side of the ark. This why it is called Moses Law, Moses wrote it and commanded it to be placed by the side (most say in the side).
1Ki 8:9 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when Jehovah made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
Solomon opened the ark and found only the Ten Commandments that God wrote. There were no sacrificial laws. This shows a separation of the Law and that the sacrificial laws would be fulfilled by Jesus the Christ and done away with.
Luk 24:44 And he said unto them, These are my words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must needs be fulfilled, which are “written in the law of Moses”, and the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me.
Jesus was the sacrificial lamb of God that paid our debt. When Jesus was crucified He fulfilled and did away with THAT LAW 'Moses' Law.
1Co 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing; but the keeping of the commandments of God.
What matters is the keeping of the comandments of God.Col 2:14 having blotted out the bond written in ordinances that WAS AGAINST US, which was contrary to us: and he hath taken it out that way, nailing it to the cross;
Col 2:16 For this reason let no man be your judge in any question of food or drink or feast days or new moons or Sabbaths:
What does the Ten Commandments have to do with Food, drink, feast days, new moons and annual Sabbaths? (BBE)
Clearly Col. 2:16 is speaking of ritual and sacrificial laws and NOT the Ten Commandments.
Paul's writings are hard to understand:
2Pe 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also, according to the wisdom given to him, wrote unto you;
2Pe 3:16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; wherein are some things hard to be understood, which the ignorant and unstedfast wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
2Pe 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, knowing these things beforehand, beware lest, being carried away with the error of the wicked, ye fall from your own stedfastness.People say that Paul said that the Ten Commandment Law was done away with. Did He?
How could this same Paul (who's writings are hard to understand)that kept and taught on the Sabbath tell people that the Sabbath was done away with and now we are to worship on the first day (there was no name for any day except the seventh day)
Paul said: What matters is the keeping of God's commandments (1Cor. 7:19).
How can Paul in Acts 17:2 keep the Sabbath and three chapters later keep the first day.Act 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread Paul discoursed with them, intending to depart on the morrow; and prolonged his speech until midnight.
They gathered together to break bread. But they broke bread everyday not just on the first day.
Act 2:46 And day by day, continuing stedfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart..
Paul kept the commandments if read carefully Paul's writings were speaking of the ritual sacrificial law. When spoke of the Ten as being the Law to point out sin he usually says something like: Are the commandments done away with? God forbid!
My friends you cannot get away from the Law:
If you break the Law you sin! If you keep the Law you don't sin! (1John 3:4)
How can the Law be done away with?
Have heaven and earth passed away?
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.
All things have not been accomplished:
1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be abolished is death.
God's peace to you all,

March 11, 2006 at 2:45 am#38786MrBobParticipantI can't write too much now (tired), but here are some points in scripture that show the situation with the law.
As for the Sabbath day, the situation is described here:
Romans 14:4-10 (KJV)
Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
So whether we rest on Saturday, Sunday, or whatever, the point is that we do it in faith.
Romans 3:19-28
Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
Also read Romans 4 and Galations 3. We are under the law of faith by Abraham. And, as you may know, the law of Israel was not made with the “fathers,” but with the people at that time. (Deut 5:3) Yes, commandments still stand, but we are not under the law of Moses, but by the law of faith.
I can see where you're coming from. Many people teach the the law of Moses in the Old Testament as if God was being mean to those that followed him. and long behold: Jesus got rid of “all that” so we don't have to deal with it anymore. I agree that an additude like that is wrong and should never be embraced. Because, as we know, his commandments are–and never were–grevious. However, we are not under the law of Moses, but under the law of faith as in the time of Abraham.

March 11, 2006 at 11:10 am#38788Scripture SeekerParticipantHi Kenrch,
I believe the Ten Commandments are fulfilled and summed up by the commandment of Love.
Mat 5:21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
Mat 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. The new law is love, the greatest fruit of the spirit.
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt LOVE the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the FIRST AND GREAT COMMANDMENT.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt LOVE thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments HANG ALL THE LAW and the prophets. But Notice what Jesus goes on to say after teaching the FIRST GREAT commandment about loving the Love thy God.
Mat 22:44 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
Jesus has made all things new.
2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, ALL THINGS ARE BECOME NEW.
We have a new covenant and the old was ready to vanish away.
Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A NEW COVENANT, he hath made the FIRST OLD. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is READY TO VANISH AWAY.
2Co 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; NOT IN TABLES OF STONE, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
2Co 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the NEW TESTAMENT; not of the letter, but of the spirit: FOR THE LETTER KILLETH, but the spirit giveth life.
2Co 3:7 But if the ministration of death, written and ENGRAVED IN STONES, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory WAS TO BE DONE AWAY:The old was done away with by the ultimate sacrifice of LOVE, God humbling himself to take the form of man and even to die on the cross. There is no greater Love than to lay done ones life.
We see Scripture talks of the New Testament, we see that all things have been made new.
Lets take a look at the new ARK of Gods New Testament.Revelation 11:19
And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in HIS temple the ARK of HIS TESTAMENT: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.
Note: Revelation 11:19 directly precedes Revelation 12:1; chapter and verse divisions in the Bible are an invention of the Middle Ages. READ WHAT DIRECTLY FOLLOWSRevelation 12:1-6
And there appeared a GREAT WONDER in heaven; A WOMAN CLOTHED WITH THE SUN, and THE MOON UNDER HER FEET, and UPON HER HEAD a CROWN OF TWELVE STARS: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. And SHE BROUGHT FORTH A MAN CHILD, who was to rule all nations with a ROD OF IRON: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. The testament is the word of God, this is Jesus and his Mother is Mary “the ARK of this testament”
Yes the twelve Stars are the 12 tribes of Israel. Just like the Old Ark as below!
Jos 4:4 Then Joshua called the TWELVE MEN, whom he had prepared of the CHILDREN OF ISRAEL, OUT OF EVERY TRIBE A MAN:
Jos 4:5 And Joshua said unto them, PASS OVER BEFORE THE ARK of the LORD your God into the midst of Jordan, and take ye up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the NUMBER OF THE TRIBES OF THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL:Lets look at the other fulfillments of the Old Ark.
Mary and the Ark of the Old Testament are both Overshadow by God.
Mary is OVERSHADOWED
Luk 1:35 And the angel answered and said UNTO HER, The Holy Ghost shall come UPON THEE, and the power of the Highest shall OVERSHADOW THEE: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.The Ark is COVERED/FILLED
Exo 40:21 And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the vail of the covering, and covered the ark of the testimony; as the LORD commanded Moses.
Exo 40:34 Then a cloud COVERED the tent of the congregation, and the GLORY OF THE LORD FILLED the tabernacle.Mary went to JUDAH when the Jesus dwelleth inside of HER.
Luk 1:39 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of JUDAH;David took the Ark to JUDAH which contained the Word of God inside it.
2Sa 6:2 And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of JUDAH, to bring up from thence the ARK of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims.Look what Elisabeth says to Mary.
Luk 1:43 And whence is this to me, that the MOTHER OF MY LORD SHOULD COME TO ME?Look what David says about the ARK.
2Sa 6:9 And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ARK OF THE LORD COME TO ME?Mary stayed in JUDAH 3 Months
Luk 1:56 And MARY abode with her about THREE MONTHS, and returned to her own house. The ARK stayed in JUDAH 3 Months
2Sa 6:11 And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite THREE MONTHS: and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household.David was LEAPING and DANCING before the Lord in front of the ARK
2Sa 6:16 And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king DAVID LEAPING and DANCING before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.JOHN the Baptist LEAPED when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary.
Luk 1:41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe LEAPED in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:Also what did the Old Ark of the Covenant contain?
Heb 9:4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, WHEREIN was the golden pot that had MANNA, and AARON'S ROD that budded, and the TABLES OF THE COVENANT;
Yes Manna, the Rod and the words of God of the old covenant.
2Co 3:7 But if the ministration of death, written and ENGRAVED IN STONES, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory WAS TO BE DONE AWAY:
What did the New Ark Contain?
The Living Manna that feed us, the Living Rod of Iron to rule the nations and the living word of God that he engraves on our hearts not on stone 2Co 3:3.The living Word of God
Rev 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
The living bread from heaven.
Joh 6:48 I am that bread of life.
Joh 6:51 I am the LIVING BREAD which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. The new rod of iron is also the living Jesus Christ
Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations:
and he shall rule them with a ROD OF IRON: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Rev 12:5 And SHE brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a ROD OF IRON: and HER CHILD was caught up unto God, and to his throne.Yes we have new living Manna, a new living Rod to rule the nations and a new living law ingrained in our hearts [the law of Love]. And all this came by the power of the most high who used the living Ark to deliver His Testament.
There's more on this great saint the blessed virgin but this is outside this subject. Just look at the shameful way the world treats Her, Satan hates Her and persecutes Her. But all generations shall call Her blessed.God bless.

Here's what the Bible says about the law:
Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.(Rom 7:12)For we know that the law is spiritual…(Rom 7:14a)
The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.(Ps. 19:7-9)The purpose of the law:
Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.(Rom. 4:15)It is the law that shows us what sin is.
Who the Law made for:
Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be
any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;(1Tim. 1:9-10)The law was made to lead us to Christ by showing us our sin. Once we are in Christ we are no longer under the law us as long as we walk in the spirit.
But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law (Gal. 5:18)
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.(Rom. 8:1)
BUT when we sin we are placed back under the law because it is the law that tells us what sin is. God never destroyed the law because there was nothing wrong with the law. Ceremonial law yes, but moral law no.
The law says the speed limit is 35 mph. If I abide by the law I am not condemned by it (under it), but when I drive 40 then I am under the condemnation of the law, and it is that law that the judge will use as the standard.

Heb 9:4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, WHEREIN was the golden pot that had MANNA, and AARON'S ROD that budded, and the TABLES OF THE COVENANT;
Joh 6:51 I am the LIVING BREAD which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread
that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. The new rod of iron is also the living Jesus Christ
Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a ROD OF IRON: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Scripture Seeker, MrBob, and everyone,DOES LOVE FULFILL THE TEN COMMANDMENTS? YES! THE FIRST FOUR SHOW LOVE FOR GOD. THE LAST SIX SHOWS LOVE FOR EACH OTHER.
You have to understand that their is a separation of the Law between God's Law and Moses' Law.
God's Law, the Law He wrote: The Ten Commandments (Deu. 10:1-5)
Moses' Law, the Law God gave to Moses: The ritual sacrificial Law (Deu. 31:9 & 26)
The Ten Commandment Moral Law (the law God wrote in stone) was placed INSIDE the ark.
The Law that God gave Mosses to write( not in stone) was placed BESIDE THE ARK.
1Ki 8:9 There was NOTHING IN THE ARK SAVE THE TWO TABLETS OF STONE which Moses put there at Horeb, when Jehovah made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
*Just as today, the sacrificial laws were fulfilled by Christ and done away with but the Moral Law of God Remains.*You must remeber that Paul's writings are HARD TO UNDERSTAND and some twist scripture to their own destruction (2Pet.2:16). They that taught the Trinity also taught the Ten Commandments were done away with. Believe what you were taught or believe what the word says.
**Rom 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Romans chapter 14 is speaking of food. The chapter startes with food and ends with food. Two scriptures speak of one day above another. It would seem that somehow the food and days connect. I would think that Paul is speaking of the dietary law (clean and unclean meat) and the days it was sacrificed.
Rom 14:2 One man hath faith to eat all things: but he that is weak eateth herbs.
Rom 14:3 Let not him that eateth set at nought him that eateth not; and let not him that eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
Rom 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind
Rom 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge ye this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock in his brother's way, or an occasion of falling.
Rom 14:14 I know, and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean of itself: save that to him who accounteth anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
Rom 14:15 For if because of meat thy brother is grieved, thou walkest no longer in love. Destroy not with thy meat him for whom Christ died.
Rom 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit
Rom 14:19 So then let us follow after things which make for peace, and things whereby we may edify one another.
Rom 14:20 Overthrow not for meat's sake the work of God. All things indeed are clean; howbeit it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.
Rom 14:23 But he that doubteth is condemned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith; and whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
*Isa 42:21 It pleased Jehovah, for his righteousness' sake, to MAGNIFY THE LAW, and make it honorable.
Rom 7:12 So that the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good.
Rom 7:13 Did then that which is good become death unto me? *God forbid. But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, by working death to me through that which is good; –that through the commandment sin might become exceeding sinful.
Rom 7:14 For we know that the LAW IS SPIRITUAL: but I am carnal, sold under sin.*Jesus magnified the law by making it spiritual.
Mat 5:21 Ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
Mat 5:22 but I say unto you, that every one “who is angry with his brother shall be in danger of the judgment”; and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council; and whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of the hell of fire.Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, “Till heaven and earth pass away”, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, TILL ALL THINGS BE ACCOMPLISHED. * Have heaven and earth passed away (Rev. 21:1)? Have all things been accomplished 1 Cor 15:26)? If not according to Jesus the Christ then the Law has not passed away!
*If Paul is saying that the Ten Commandment moral Law of God has been done away with then he is contradicting Jesus as well as himself.1Co 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing; BUT THE KEEPING OF THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD.
Jesus said if you want to enter into enternal life KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS.
Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why askest thou me concerning that which is good? One there is who is good: but if thou wouldest enter into life, keep the commandments.
Mat 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? And Jesus said, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Mat 19:19 Honor thy father and mother; and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. * In other words all of the Ten Commandment Law.Please explain:
In the last days the saints will be keeping the Commandments of God.Rev 12:17 And the dragon waxed wroth with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, that keep the commandments of God, and hold the testimony of Jesus:
Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints, they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.*DOES LOVE FULFILL THE TEN COMMANDMENTS? YES! THE FIRST FOUR SHOW LOVE FOR GOD. THE LAST SIX SHOW LOVE FOR EACH OTHER.*
But love without works is dead. I can tell my wife I love her but if I don't do the little things that show my love then that love is dead.1Jo 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;
1Jo 3:22 and whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight
1Jo 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments abideth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
1Jo 5:2 Hereby we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and do his commandments.
1Jo 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
2Jo 1:6 And this is love, that we should walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, even as ye heard from the beginning, that ye should walk in it.
Faith without works is dead!
Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
If we love Him we keep Hi commandments.
Joh 14:1
5 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Transgression of any of the Commandments is sin.
1Jo 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Jam 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
Jam 2:9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
Jam 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Jam 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
Finnaly MrBob I leave you with the words of our saviour:
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Just thought everyone should know!
Peace unto you,
KenrchMarch 12, 2006 at 11:24 am#38791Scripture SeekerParticipantHi Kenrch,
Jesus tells us to love our neighbor, not desire to love but he says to love. Love requires action and someone to love otherwise it is not love. Telling someone you love them is just a gesture, it’s a sign of love.
Everyone appears to agree that the new commandment of love covers all of the Ten Commandments.
Jesus has fulfilled the commandments in a complete way by reveling there meaning.I agree with some of the statements that you make, but here we see that the First Covenant was ready to vanish away!
Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A NEW COVENANT, he hath made the FIRST OLD. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is READY TO VANISH AWAY.
Here the word of God says NOT IN TABLES OF STONE
2Co 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; NOT IN TABLES OF STONE, BUT IN FLESHY TABLES OF THE HEART.
Here it explains why.
2Co 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the NEW TESTAMENT; not of the letter, but of the spirit: FOR THE LETTER KILLETH, but the spirit giveth life.
And again look at what the word of God says about the tables of stone.
Yes it was done away because it was fulfilled by the new law of Love.
Rom 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that LOVETH ANOTHER HATH FULFILLED THE LAW.
Rom 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.Clearly we see that the Law is fulfilled by Love as below just like it says in Rom 13:8 also.
Rom 13:10 LOVE WORKETH NO ILL TO HIS NEIGHBOUR: THEREFORE LOVE IS THE FULFILLING OF THE LAW.
YES the word of God says that love is the fulfilling of the law.
OK lets look at why it needed to be fulfilled or made complete.
Mat 5:21 YE HAVE HEARD THAT IT WAS SAID BY THEM OF OLD TIME, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
Mat 5:22 BUT I SAY UNTO YOU, THAT WHOSOEVER IS ANGRY WITH HIS BROTHER WITHOUT A CAUSE SHALL BE IN DANGER OF THE JUDGMENT: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.Yes love fulfills the old law.
Mat 5:27 YE HAVE HEARD THAT IT WAS SAID BY THEM OF OLD TIME, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
Mat 5:28 BUT I SAY UNTO YOU, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.Love was not taught in its fullness before Jesus came.
Mat 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;You quoted the scripture below.
1Ki 8:9 There was NOTHING IN THE ARK SAVE THE TWO TABLES OF STONE, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
Not at that point in time, but it did as below and it was fulfilled by God in His new Ark.
Num 17:10 And the LORD said unto Moses, Bring AARON'S ROD AGAIN BEFORE THE TESTIMONY, TO BE KEPT FOR A TOKEN against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not.
Exo 16:33 And Moses said unto Aaron, TAKE A POT, AND PUT AN OMER FULL OF MANNA THEREIN, and lay it up before the LORD, TO BE KEPT FOR YOUR GENERATIONS.
Exo 16:34 As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid IT UP BEFORE THE TESTIMONY, TO BE KEPT.
Both where to be Kept, and this is why it is mentioned again in the New Testament.
Heb 9:3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
Heb 9:4 Which had the golden censer, and the ARK OF THE COVENANT overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had MANNA, and AARON'S ROD that budded, and the TABLES OF THE COVENANT;We have a New Testament and a New Ark as seen in Revelations.
To answer your comments made about the Catholic Church.
First the Catholic Church teaches the Ten Commandments even today at mass the Children where each handed a copy of the Ten Commandments.Anyway here are the Churches teaching on this subject.
2055 When someone asks him, “Which commandment in the Law is the greatest?” Jesus replies: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the prophets.” THE DECALOGUE MUST BE INTERPRETED IN LIGHT OF THIS TWOFOLD YET SINGLE COMMANDMENT OF LOVE, THE FULLNESS OF THE LAW:
2056 The word “Decalogue” means literally “ten words.” God revealed these “ten words” to his people on the holy mountain. They were written “with the finger of God,” unlike the other commandments written by Moses. They are pre-eminently the words of God. They are handed on to us in the books of Exodus and Deuteronomy. Beginning with the Old Testament, the sacred books refer to the “ten words,” BUT IT IS IN THE NEW COVENANT IN JESUS CHRIST THAT THEIR FULL MEANING WILL BE REVEALED.
2067 The Ten Commandments state what is required in the love of God and love of neighbor. The first three concern love of God, and the other seven love of neighbor.
2068 The Council of Trent teaches that the Ten Commandments are obligatory for Christians and that the justified man is still bound to keep them; the Second Vatican Council confirms: “The bishops, successors of the apostles, receive from the Lord . . . the mission of teaching all peoples, and of preaching the Gospel to every creature, so that all men may attain salvation through faith, Baptism and the observance of the Commandments.”
2072 Since they express man's fundamental duties towards God and towards his neighbor, the Ten Commandments reveal, in their primordial content, grave obligations. They are fundamentally immutable, and they oblige always and everywhere. No one can dispense from them. The Ten Commandments are ENGRAVED BY GOD IN THE HUMAN HEART.
Yes it teaches as scripture says.
2Co 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; NOT IN TABLES OF STONE, BUT IN FLESHY TABLES OF THE HEART.I would like to spend some time on the Trinity so can we leave the Catholic Churches teachings alone?
I don’t want to spend all my time defending the Churches teachings I have already defended many of Her teachings. It appears that the big hang-up’s are on the Churches doctrine of the Trinity so I would like to defend this teaching.2Jo 1:3 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
March 12, 2006 at 12:34 pm#38792seekingtruthParticipantI believe that the Law was fulfilled by Jesus taking the punishment that the law demands. and just like Abram, it is now through faith (of course we know that the Law always was incapable of saving anyone) that we believe unto salvation. It is through the Spirit we receive, that God gives us the desire to be obedient, and true obedience is found in Love. Anything we do outside of love means nothing.
Faith leads to works, not works leads to faith
The Lord is worthy of all praise
March 12, 2006 at 3:22 pm#38793kenrchParticipantIn Heb. chapter 10 it speaks of the Old and New covenant.
Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
Heb 10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
Read the chapter What law is it speaking of? Heb Chapter Ten is speaking of the “Old and New” covnant. Is it not? It is speaking of blood sacrifices and the one time sacrifice of our Lord.
What law did Jesus' sacrifice take the place of? What law did Jesus fulfill (Luke 24:44)?Heb 10:18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
Now consider Romans chapter eight.
Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
In the New Covnant when I sin My high priest (we don't need a most holy father) Jesus Christ applies His sacrifice. My sin is gone, as if I didn't sin at all. This is why Christ came and was crucified. This is the Law He fulfulled and did away with. His sacrifice set me free from the law of sin and death.
The sacrifical law was flesh (blood of animals) but the New covenant is spiritual no longer flesh.Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
If you don't accept Christ then you are fleshly and have no forgivness of sin.
Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. The Old Covenant sacrificial law was correct in that we had no forgivness of sin. The righteousness (the penality) of the law was PAID IN FULL by Jesus Christ if you walk after the Spirit and not the flesh.
Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Spiritually mind because we have the forgivness of sin.
Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
If you are in the flesh then you have not fulfilled the sacrifical Law and are still guility of sin.Jesus said think not that I came to do away with the [Sacrifical Law] but to fulfill it.
After reading Heb. chapter 10 and Romans ch. 8 there is only one concluision of what law Christ fulfilled (Luke 24:44).
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Verse 17 Jesus fulfilled the law. Verse 18 He says till all be fulfilled. Here he is speaking of the Ten Commandments. Once the New Heaven And Earth come there will be no more law and no more SIN.
Have heaven and earth passed away?
ALL has NOT been fulfilled!
1Co 15:26 The LAST ENEMY that shall be destroyed is death.Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
If you break the least of these commandments, (notice it's commandments not ordinances) have no reguard for the law.
And teach that the Commandments are done away with Then You Will Be The LEAST in the New Kingdom.
But if you do the Commandments (Rev. 22:14) and teach them then you will be great in the New Kingdom.Notice you still make it to heaven but will be the least.
What is the least in Heaven? I don't want to know.I don't know about you but I want to win that race (*as Paul puts it 1Cor. 9:24) I want to be all what the Father wants me to be .
The Kingdom is at hand.
God's peace be unto you all,

I don’t want to spend all my time defending the Churches teachings I have already defended many of Her teachings. It appears that the big hang-up’s are on the Churches doctrine of the Trinity so I would like to defend this teaching.2Jo 1:3 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
Scripture Seeker,Not to be mean but you say the church teaches this and that.
What does the Holy Spirit teach?
Why was the Spirit pour
ed upon ALL flesh? You act as though the only one who has access to God is “the Most Holy Father”. Jesus died so all could boldly go before the thrown.
Again not to be mean, but your not even in the ball park. Not as long as you continue to teach what religious men have taught you or don't you know that Jesus was against religion. Religion puffs men up to be only what they think they are and not what they are.
As regarding the Trinty. There are more people in this forum who want to talk about it than the Catholic church has fathers. Personnally I'm sick of it. And wish that they would ackowledge that there is on Trinity and the Holy Spirit is not a person and move on. Hey may be that's what you will do?
Yeah! Start another whole new thread on the Trinity!

If you have faith then you will have works. What are the works.
I'm spiritual and the spirit won't let me break the Ten Commandment Law of God. I love the Lord enough not to break His Law or teach that His Law was done away with .The only Law that was done away with was the sacrifical Law.
How did Jesus do away with the Ten Cammandments?Where is the scripture? Give scripture that says Our Lord did away with His Law. You can twist Paul's writings (2Peter 3:16) Hebrews tells us that Jesus fulfilled the Sacrifical law doing away with the Old Covenant.
WE have forgivness for sin. Do you sin? How would you know it was sin? That's what sin is! Now if Jesus did away with the Ten Commandments you would not know you sinned. The New Covenant is that you will be forgiven when you sin.
That's the New Covenant. God's law is spiritual.Rom 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
Who among you does not sin?
If you no, when you sin you break the law.
1Jo 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. When you sin you are saying that the Law is still in force.
How could it be done away with ?
If you don't sin you have not broken the Law.Mat 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not “prophesy in your name”, and “cast out demons in your name”, and do many “mighty works in your name?”
Mat 7:23 And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, “YOU WORKERS OF LAWLESSNESS”Lawlessness! How can you be lawless unless their is Law?
Jesus did away with the Ten Commandment Law?
Then what do you say to the saints of the last days:Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which “keep the commandments of God”, and “have the testimony of Jesus Christ”
The remnant of the true church KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD. Tell the saints of the true church that Jesus did away with the Ten Commandments. AND HAVE THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS CHRIST. Wait! The true church has both commandments and forgivness of sin because they believe Jesus did away with the sacrificial Law.
But look they still have the Commandments! Why is that?Tell me you who are without law do you sin?
Well actually no many of you will accept the truth. Many are called few are chosen. Narrow is the road to heaven but extra wide is the path you are on. Because you are those in Matt. 7:21-23.
You have your purpose “you will be the least” in the kingdom of God. I wish everyone could be great! But the truth is no one could be great unless their are some who are least.Again the Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand!
May the Spirit give you peace and joy as you do what you were called for. It's your choice. You can teach others as the churches of today the very ones that you say are false, that Jesus fulfilled and DID AWAY with the Ten Commandment Moral Law Of God.
…but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called Great in the Kingdom of heaven.
Either way you are still children of God!kenrch

But as I said you are still “children” of God!

March 13, 2006 at 5:06 am#38798Scripture SeekerParticipantIncase you missed them last time.
Or are these more scriptures we can't take for face value!
Rom 13:8 OWE NO MAN ANY THING, BUT TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER: FOR HE THAT LOVETH ANOTHER HATH FULFILLED THE LAW.
Thats right friends we owe no man anything but to love one another!
Rom 13:10 LOVE WORKETH NO ILL TO HIS NEIGHBOUR: THEREFORE LOVE IS THE FULFILLING OF THE LAW.
As above and below the Law of Love fulfills the law engraved in stone
2Co 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; NOT IN TABLES OF STONE, BUT IN FLESHY TABLES OF THE HEART.
What does not in tables of stone mean!
Please explain how the law of love does not fulfill the commandments given in stone.
2Jo 1:3 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
March 13, 2006 at 1:08 pm#38799SultanParticipantHere's what the Bible says about the law:
Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;(1Tim.
March 14, 2006 at 1:00 pm#38800seekingtruthParticipantSomeone asked “where in scriptures does God do away with the commandments”, I would ask where in the scriptures, as a gentile, am I directed to follow the ten commandments? Please read on before you stone me.
Ephesians 2:15
by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace,Romans 13:8-10
8Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. 9The commandments, “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not murder,” “Do not steal,” “Do not covet,”[a] and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 10Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.We are commanded to love our neighbor and which is easier, to not murder your neighbor, or to love him even if he's unlovable? I'm not looking for a way around the commandments I believe we've been called to adhere to the spirit of the law not the letter.

I really appreciate you brother and do believe that what you've written is from love, I just see it differently. I do believe that we both agree, salvation is from faith not from following a set of rules (but with true faith there comes a desire to follow those rules).January 29, 2007 at 7:47 pm#38801NickHassanParticipanttopical

CB has quoted the ten commandments in the above post. I incourage anyone who believes that Paul or anyone did away with these commandments to take them one at a time and ask yourself, because the scriptures state we are not under the Law but under grace, whether or not God would have us to obey them.
Jesus states: “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass form the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore whall break one of these least comandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven”. (Matt. 5:17-19)
Jesus is our example of how we should live our lives in order to fulfill the law, but as we strive to obey God through the commandments that have come to us through Jesus, we make mistakes, and without the blood that was shed for us by our Lord, we would not be saved. But no, God's law is eternal.
Romans 8:1 states: There is therefore now no condemnation to those which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”.
