Col.1:21-23 …21 And you, being once estranged and enemies in comprehension, by wicked acts, yet now He reconciles
22 by His body of flesh, through His death, to present you holy and flawless and unimpeachable in His sight,
23 since surely you are persisting in the faith, grounded and settled and are not being removed from the expectation of the evangel which you hear which is being heralded in the entire creation which is under heaven of which I, Paul, became the dispenser.Notice where it says :by His (Jesus) body of flesh, through His death, to present you holy and flawless and unimpeachable in His sight,
He (God) sees our sin no more. He has done it “ALL”. Of course this would be another scripture that Nick would not believe, he is still trying to “earn” his salvation though his “one eternal gospel for all”.
Blessings.

You write as if you have been reborn into the perfect and righteous man Jesus.
When did this happen?
Outside of him there is no righteousness, only filthy rags.January 15, 2009 at 10:50 pm#117745chosenoneParticipantNH.
Your usual incorrect assumption. Try saying something nice about someone for a change. Your interaction with others make it obvious that your having difficulty living the Christian life.January 15, 2009 at 10:57 pm#117795NickHassanParticipantHi CO,
So you have yet to go through the gate?
Why would you discourage others?January 16, 2009 at 12:30 am#117809chosenoneParticipantNH.
Why would you think I discourage others? In contrast to you, who teaches salvation through 'works of the flesh'. I encourage others that accept Gods word that “All is of God”, as written in 2Cor.5:18-19 …18 Yet all is of God, Who conciliates us to Himself through Christ, and is giving us the dispensation of the conciliation,
19 how that God was in Christ, conciliating the world to Himself, not reckoning their offenses to them, and placing in us the word of the conciliation. How much more enlightening when you “correctly cut the word of truth”. You should trust scripture, not your own gospel.

9If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.10He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

John, the beloved disciple, is dead. How then could he insist so strongly that he had “everlasting” life, and that all who are not believing this have made God a liar? It is evident that he did not have what we would understand by “everlasting” life or he would still be living. The rendering “eonian” avoids this difficulty. This life does not commence until the resurrection and lasts until death is no longer in action, at the consummation at the close of the eonian times. It will be, in effect, without end, but it would be foolish to predicate life when there is no death.January 16, 2009 at 8:28 am#117885NickHassanParticipantHi CO,
Thjere are two resurrections and wisdom demands we search for the first.Heb4
Hebrews 4
1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
6Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
9There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

To the Hebrews.January 16, 2009 at 6:43 pm#117910NickHassanParticipantCO,
Jesus is the prophet of God.
Acts3
22For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.23And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
You can ignore him and his words?
Then how can you be in him?January 16, 2009 at 7:25 pm#117918chosenoneParticipantNH.

When I was “baptized” with the Holy Spirit.January 17, 2009 at 9:25 pm#118059NickHassanParticipantCO,
Those who heard Peter and were so baptised were immediately baptised in waterActs 10
44While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.45And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
47Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
48And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
